I want to add weight to my putter because I like the feel of a heavier putterbetter. My question is: What are the differences in adding weight to the putter head compared adding weight to the grip? I've seen it both ways, just got me thinking...

Tips on handling your nerves
ScottyCameron replied to albatross's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Also never give up. If you bombed your front nine, never never give up. I've turned potential terrible rounds into great rounds by never giving up. Always stay positive and your mental thoughts shouldnt be "dont hit it in the lake", but it should be "I am going to hit the green". Over every putt say to yourself " I am going to make this putt". Self confidence is huge. Take deep breaths and stay as calm and positive as possible on every shot. Trust me, I play roughly 15 tournaments a year. Also, the more tournaments you play, the better you will be at handling the pressure. I hope this helps and good luck in your club championship. -
My longest drive off the cart path- 400 yards My longest real drive in the fairway- 290 yards

ScottyCameron replied to right handed phil mickelson's topic in Golf Talk
Wow. You are shooting amazing for a 5 handicap. -
I have always putted with mallets because I have been so intimidated by blade putters. I dont know if its a mental thing, or what. Really, are blade putters hard to align?

Scotty Cameron Paint Fill
ScottyCameron replied to deronsizemore's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
If you did the paintfill yourself, did you fully remove the original paint? Also, what paint did you use? Some testers paint is the best for durability. If it comes off...it dosnt matter, just paint it back! -
Is it the club or my swing???
ScottyCameron replied to ScottyCameron's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Since you got the same shaft I do, and have a faster swing speed than me, I might need to go to a regular. How can I try out the 909 d3 with different shaft combos to see which shaft I need? I do have a pretty high trajectory with my stiff would a regular cause a extremely high trajectory? -
Is it the club or my swing???
ScottyCameron replied to ScottyCameron's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
What does taking it to six or seven o'clock mean? So you dont think the shaft is the problem? -
This is the oddest thing with my golf game right now. I hit my wedges and irons very solid and straight but my driver right now is slicing like crazy. I dont quite understand. I got a new driver roughly a month and a half ago. I didnt slice my old driver at all, but when I got my new one, every single drive slices I did go from a regular shaft to a stiff shaft. If my swing needs a regular rather than a stiff, could having the stiff cause the slice? I say that because I dont know anything else that could possibly cause the slice. Could the shaft be the problem to my slicing? I have a swing speed around 92 mph. Thanks, any input will be greatly appreciated.

Anyone play a hybrid as their fairway wood?
ScottyCameron replied to ScottyCameron's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Thats interesting that you say that because my fw goes pretty low. anyway, I am just looking for a easier to hit club to replace my 3 wood. If I replaced my 15 degree 3 wood to a 15 degree hybrid, do you think they will go about the same distance? -

thanks for the input. I have trouble hitting my 3 wood off the tee. Just cant seem to hit it straight. It seems like the best thing for me is just to replace it with a 15 degree hybrid. I'm a big titleist fan, I will try out the 909h. -

ScottyCameron replied to ScottyCameron's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Yeah, I love the feel of hybrids... easy to hit, easy to launch and easier in the rough. I think I will replace my 3 wood with a hybrid. Has anyone else replaced their 3 or 5 wood with a hybrid? -
Anyone play a hybrid as their fairway wood?
ScottyCameron replied to ScottyCameron's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Sure, but here is my example of A.K. He uses a 14 degree Adam's hybrid as a 3 wood or even a strong 3 wood. http://blogs.golf.com/equipment/2008...y-kims-wi.html -
I have always struggled with inconsistently with my fairway wood. Companies make hybrids with 15 degrees of loft, which is basically a 3 wood... My idea is that a 15 degree hybrid would be easier to hit compared to a 3 wood. Players such as Anthony Kim use a hybrid as their fw. Just an idea, what do you think?

Confusing results from my new driver
ScottyCameron replied to ScottyCameron's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Yeah, I was just expecting a lower ballflight with my new driver. I'm not saying I am loosing distance, just expected different results. -
After reading this thread, I feel like I am in the .01% of golfers that dosent know what GPP is....

So just recently (about 2 weeks ago) I bought a new driver to replace my old TM r5 with 10.5 degrees of loft with a regular shaft. My r5 had a really high launch and it spun too much for me. So, I decided to buy the titleist 909 d3. Titleist says it is a "mid launching, low spinning driver", so I thought it will help me launch the ball lower with lower spin. I got the driver with 9.5 degrees of loft, less than 10.5 compared to the r5. I also went from a regular shaft to a stiff with the d3. I thought this for sure will lower the launch. After gaming it for 2 weeks now, I have seen good results with lowering the spin but, it sill launches high! I dont know why, because I have got a stiffer shaft, with less loft but it still goes high. The club itself is amazing. I hit it straight and solid, just wondered why the launch was still high. Any thoughts?
