  1. Tacki Mac dual mold mid size. I used to be GP tour velvet midsize guy. Just thought I would try something new (and cheap). Put one on my three wood, now they are on all my clubs. I found that they are slightly thinner the GP midsize, and they fit my hands well. Put these on in December, and they are still very tacki, but time will tell how long they last. Less then three bucks a grip at golf smith. They are similar to golf pride new decade (non cord).
  2. MP-30, I am now hooked on Mizuno forged irons. Was playing Cleveland TA7 until about two years ago, saw some MP-30's on Craigslist for cheap and thought I would try a better player's iron. Took some getting used to, but now I'm addicted to the "click" of a pure shot.
  3. Played Cleveland wedges for many years. Bought a Vokey 52 and 56 about a year ago. My wedge game has improved tremendously. It may be between my ears and its obviously preference, but I will never own another cleveland wedge. If only I could find a driver I felt so strongly about and confident with.
  4. Just started experimenting with iron shafts. If I were to buy a set of pulled iron shafts, could I put the pulled 3 iron shaft in my 4 or 5 iron to achieve the extra length I need. Then I would just have to reshaft new my 3 and possibly 4iron to get +1" in length. By doing this to try and save a few $$, would I be comprimising performance? I would appreciate any feedback.
  5. To me they have very good feel. I'm sure single digit handicappers who play blades would disagree. But even after giving blades a try, my opinion of the TA7's has not changed.
  6. Out of the clubs you listed, I can only speak on the TA7's as that is what I currently play. I bought my set in 2002 new and have yet to find a set of new irons that I like better, or at least not to the extent I want to drop $600 to $1000 on. The Taylormade RAC LT, which came out about the same time as the TA7, are very similar in feel and performance, at least in my opinion. I'm a 14 handicap and have tried blade and muscle back Mizunos, which when hit solidly definantly have a better feel. However, I don't have a lot of time to practice and my consitancy really suffered, so both times I went back to the TA7's.(thank goodness I didn't sell them) I've seen TA7's on ebay for $150 or less, so I don't think you can go wrong. I'm actually thinking of finding a set of TA7 Tours to try, as these would be a slight move toward more advanced irons with less offset (baby steps!), but I haven't found a set cheap enough yet just for a test run. Good luck
  7. Anybody have experience with tacki mac, Avon, or Golfsmith grips. Is it a matter of you get what you pay for, or are the comparable to golf pride or lamkin?
  8. I've played x stiff shafts for several years, but after 4 years of playing very little due to marriage and kids, I have now found that I am slowing down my swing in favor of better mechanics and more solid contact (just turned 35). So I just picked up a set of used clubs with S300 shafts which seems to suit me a whole lot better. Anybody looking for a used set of Cleveland TA7 3-PW, they have Steel X Dynamic Gold shafts and newer Lamkin grips. They are also 1 inch over standard in length and 2* upright. Great for me as I'm 6'5. I ordered them new in 2002 custom from Cleveland. Used, not abused condition..except the p wedge is bent ever so slightly due to a fat shot on hardpan. I personally don't notice it as it doesn't effect play, but someone esle may want to reshaft that club. Otherwise, these babies are ready to go. $150 shipped or will consider any offers, i can email pics.
  9. My swing speed is in the 95-100 mph range and I play a stiff driver, but played a regular shaft 3 wood for years. I got it very cheap and thought I would reshaft it, but I hit it so well, I never found the need to change it.
  10. Tiger is of my generation and I've witnessed his greatness in my adult life. Jack was before my time. I go with Tiger.
  11. I work as a commercial real estate appraisal firm. My office has 12 guys, half are golfers as this kind of work provides for alot of time flexability.
