  1. I would ask the seller for the serial number and call Taylormade. They will confirm it for you. I have purchased all my Taylormade clubs on E-bay using this method and saved myself a ton of money vs. buying retail.
  2. I am similar in size to you (6'3" 280lbs) and I've had my irons lengthened by an 1 1/2" so I don't have to bend down as much. From what you are describing you could definitely use some stiffer shafts in your woods. The "el-cheapo" sets have poor quality very light regular flex graphite shafts. With Ebay you can get some very good deals and stay in your budget. Also, on a whim I recently went to golfsmith to check out the Mac Burrows close-outs for my "guest/2nd" set. The woods are $39 and I've had comparable results as compared to what I have in my bag. I also picked up the Powersphere 421cc for $49 and was very impressed with the results. Golfsmith just bought out Burrows golf and is selling all their components on for dirt cheap prices.
  3. I now carry 4 wedges, all Taylormade R7 XD's: PW:44, AW:49, SW:54 & LW:59
  4. How does that work exactly? My wife is just starting to get into golf. Does your wife come on as your "caddy" or is she one of your foursome? I've been wanting to bring my wife out with me so she can get the "complete experience".
  5. I am trying to digest the responses to the thread. To my understanding, it is up to the group in front of me and the marshall to keep up the pace of play. I am not supposed to be the one to ask to play through. Am I correct?
  6. What is the proper etiquette for playing through? Is it the responsibility of the group in front to invite the group behind to play through, or is it the responsibility of the group behind to ask to play through? The group in front of us yesterday played very slowly and was approached by the marshall three times. They never offered for us to play through and we didn't know if it was in our power to ask to play through. Thank you in advance.
  7. I had the same problem until my playing partner pointed out the same thing you mentioned. I went from "power-fading" to hitting rockets dead center. Sometimes it is really that simple.
  8. My buddy dragged me out to the range two years ago at the tender age of 29. All it took was that one time to get hooked. I don't play as often as I like but I go the range every week and have a 27 handicap.
  9. My swing speed is 94 mph. I have a somewhat "heavy" swing right now which I working to correct. I am decently satisfied with my distance (245-250). I don't think I need to change the loft. I currently have 2 2g's on the toe and a 8gm front heel and 10g back heel. I was wondering if I should add more weight to the back heel. Also, I was thinking about changing my shaft from the Aldila NV65-S to the Aldila NV85-X. I think this will help with my swing. My curiosity with the HT and the 425 has more to do with exploring something new and possibly adding 15-20 yards to my drive. I heard the HT has more spin. Will this make my occasional slice worse?
  10. Hi all, I currently have the original r7 quad 10.5 with a Aldila NV65 -S shaft. I am a high handicapper now but steadily improving. On occasion, I still slice, but not terribly. I am thinking about upgrading to either the HT to get more loft or the r7 425. Any advice?
