  1. The only watch I wear at this point is a Skagen. Most watches look huge on me, but this one seems to fit just fine... I also really like movado, but they're way too expensive for me to justify. http://www.skagen.com/item/584LSLM.fx
  2. Yea, definitely feel the same... If I sold all my guitars and the library of sheet music, I might be able to put a down-payment on a house. I'm a little afraid of what'll happen if I ever get the Golf club equivalent of GAS (Guitar Acquisition Syndrome). The truth is, in my opinion, that the rudiments of golf and music education are very similar. A huge part of it is about breaking down something that is complex to it's basic, simple, parts, and learning how to put it back together, so it functions properly, all the time.
  3. Hiya, Alex. Nice to meet another newbie :)
  4. Well I've been posting here a little bit for the past month or so, but I haven't yet introduced myself... My name is Jonah, and I'm 24. I recently moved to Gaithersburg, MD, from Litchfield, CT and I've been playing golf since April. I started as an excuse to get my grandfather out of his house every so often (he played a couple times a week until about 2 years ago), and have continued out of pure enjoyment of the game. I'm not much of an athlete in general, but the sports I do get into seem to be much more independent (golf, fencing, biking, swimming, etc.). At any rate, just wanted to formally introduce myself. I enjoy reading a lot of the posts here, and hope I can make some worth while contributions. Cheers, Jonah

  6. I think not bringing the clubs down was the smart choice... But definitely the harder one. I may just have to stop looking out of certain windows in their house for a while, hahaha.
  7. Well I moved from Connecticut to Maryland on August 30th with no job to speak of, and a very very friendly set of Girlfriends parents who are putting me up. Their back yard is separated from a golf course by a chain-link fence, and because I'm living off savings at the moment, I decided to leave my golf clubs with my parents in NY, lest I be tempted... Well darnit, I'M TEMPTED, and I can't do anything about it. Needless to say, I'm a little aggravated... I need a job soon, cuz this is brutal.
  8. Absolutely.
  9. medium/rare cheeseburger with goat cheese, sauteed spinach, onions, garlic and jalapenos, and a really cold New Castle.

    Got game?

  11. I only play 9 at my local course because it's all I have time for, and that usually costs $18.00 on a weekday, $13.00 after 5:30, and $20.00 on a weekend... Presumably, a full 18 would be double that, so about $40.00. $75.00 for a round would be too much for me, I think... Whether it's the standard or not, I really don't know.
  12. They did a really good job of making a Joker who was not clearly motivated by personal gain or revenge... One who just wants to see the world burn, as it's said in the film. I do think that Jack could have played the character as well, but that isn't to take ANYTHING away from Heath Ledger's performance, which was exceptional. All in all, I like the direction of the last two Batman movies much more than the original. The characters are just so much more developed, in my opinion.
  13. sorry to hear about VanCortland... I haven't played that course in a while, but I remember enjoying it a lot. I hope the issues that you mentioned get worked out. So what's the ruling on a dead guy on the golf course... play it as it lies, or what?
  14. I try to play 9 holes twice a week, but my funds are pretty limited at the moment.
