  1. whenever i use tape for anti friction stuff i use zinc oxide tape http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stor...atalogId=11051 I was in the army (brittish...hence a british link!) and was told to use that stuff to stop blisters...worked great. Some skin got ripped off my thumb and was very sore to swing a club. I used a plaster (band aid to you guys) and then zinc oxide tape to hold it firm. Fantastic stuff. Paul
  2. If you have a tendency to chunk the 60* wedge then i can only imagne you would struggle more with a 73 or 64 degree wedge. Working off average (ish) wedge angles the PW is 46* and the sandwedge is 56*, the lob obviously a 60* If you are happy with the PW, the SW and the Lob wedge but need that in between club (i.e: you often find yourself 85 yards away and pannicking cos 56* degrees goes too far....60* not enough) then get a 58* wedge. Just cos everybody else goes up in 4* lofts doesnt mean you have to....or that it isnt the perfect addition. Its your club selection....you need to be happy no matter what others say. Paul
  3. Yes Donna Why: Because i like the look of blade/cavity putters but the extra depth just makes it look perfect....Sold by all the high moi and c-groove marketing as well!
  4. you should try playing at one of the local courses here in Bath (Engand)...leaves all over the green. We always move em, although again...not been in competitions. However, i do remember hearing that you are allowed to move leaves.....you could always blow them of your line if you are worried, as you wouldnt have technically touched it!
  5. well, thats quite a disturbing thought! i find it can actually be too loud sometimes, particularly in an enclosed driving range, the sound is amplified and it really does actually hurt your ears sometimes!
  6. aww, thanks! Gotta say, i think i can cope with the dented pride of losing the balls...its just the problem of each round of golf costing a couple of quid more than it first seems, soon starts to add up! sabertooth, why didnt you just swap em for the blacks....a more distance oriented ball "should" give you more disatance and at that price more spin on the greens, but shouldnt be so spinny that it will destroy your drives. Could improve your game!
  7. cant imagine why, it's a brilliant piece of kit! When people point out a price difference of over $100 i begin to see how they can sell two at once....the big question what with there being the regular, draw and tour version of the XLS, is.....Will the Launcher be any better?
  8. I long for the day when i can discuss golf balls like you guys. I can see the difference and LOVE the Pro V1.....from the few times i have found them in the bushes. However, im still at a point in my game where i lose an average of 2 - 3 balls a round. The other day, i lost a ball of the tee par 3....very embarrassing) took a drop with a Pro V1 i had found and then chipped it into the hole from 60-70 yards....lovely.... ....i then went and bashed it of the tee about 500 yards into the Out of bounds...not even a slice, just an "as the bird flies" quickest route to getting lost. If i bought these balls each round of golf would cost me double! ....anyway, back to the subject matter. I would buy Pro V1's. Not sure about the USA, but in the UK theyre a little cheaper than platinums, and that many pros cant be wrong. The Pro V1 must be the favourite for a reason!
  9. never hit the Xl, but i have the 11.5 degree XLs driver. It is awesome, if a little loud! now i need to get my swing right to get the best out of it.
  10. i tend to agree with you. If you have a day where you swing fast and they then "fit" you with a stiffer shaft to complement this, it is going to be useless/not beneficial if you go away and return to your normal slower swing. Unless you can be consistent 90% or more of the time, it could in my opinion actually produce a negative result. *edit: good point made by firstcut above. However, in the UK at least i wish you good luck to finding anyone who will let you near a monitor for a decent length of time without wanting to charge you an arm and a leg for the privilage.
  11. Wonder if this means they will stop the Hi bore wood design....i have the XLs at the moment (11.5 loft) an it is very nice, if a little excessivly loud. I just dont quite understand how manufacturers run two drivers alongside each other unless they are vastly different. That launcher looks quite long (front to back) so i reckon it could have the inverted crown in it still. One things for sure, i picked a good time to sell my hi bore irons....looks like those XLi irons will be replacing them, at the moment they are still the current model!
