  1. Playing 2 rounds over the next 2 days so just spent 20 minutes on my full swing, mainly focusing on key #2 and keeping the shoulders and arms a little quieter to help my swing path.
  2. I practiced with alignment rods in the back garden, trying to ingrain an improved swing path before I submit my latest evolvr video tomorrow.
  3. Solely did Driver practice at the range. Worked on ball position, tee height and swing path. Had mixed results which is to be expected!
  4. My personal best.....91. Should have broke 90 but the hacker in me won through! Maybe next time.
  5. Even though one swallow does not make a summer, I'm starting to feel reasonably confident that I will eventually become a half decent golfer.................a low teens HC that is. I've only been playing seriously since September, but I shot a 91 today which should have been sub 90, and that was without using any woods in a strong wind. The focused practice and better understanding of the game are beginning to pay dividends. I'm still coming over the top and need to improve my tempo, but 2 years from now I want to be a 15 HC!
  6. No offense taken,..........................the only consideration I would have over here would be whether to play with someone who was carrying a double sided chipper!
  7. The US is a great country, one I hope to visit in the future but I can't comprehend or get my head around such a high firearm homicide rate per 100000 people.
  8. Voted a resounding no. So glad I live in the UK where guns are not commonplace as an insurance policy!
  9. Did my usual centered pivot practice plus
  10. Worked on the transition and swing path with very slow 3/4 swings.
  11. 10 mins working on the usual! I will be testing out my progress on the course tomorrow. Hoping for a sub 96!
  12. Range work on flatter left wrist. Kept checking the video after every few shots for analysis. I could tell from the sound of the connection alone when the left wrist was nearer the right place.........and when my 7 iron is flying high and far......well about 150!
  13. 15 mins on backswing, flat left wrist and getting the club less steep on the downswing.
  14. It's a close call, and should be a classic match-up.......cue the kiss of death and both miss the cut! Rory to come out on top, because as others have said, when he's on it, nobody comes close to competing with him.
  15. Same old routine for me, slow backswing up to the top aiming for a flatter left wrist. Another couple more days of the same before hitting some balls.......then the fun and games will start!
  16. Half of my 5 minutes practice.
  17. Just worked on my flat left wrist at the top of the backswing for 5 mins. I have posted a video on if you have nothing better to do with your time and are really bored!
  18. It was from mirror work, and I was just canvassing opinion on whether anyone else had/is utilising the left shoulder down to start the downswing. As I mentioned, I have noticed that my hands and arms have become far too active during the takeaway, my club head has occasionally become stuck in the grass yet my hands and arms are already moving away which is not helping. So I had a play around with a few different takeaway feels and the left shoulder down seems worth a try. By no means did I mention or suggest a "quick fix", more confirmation that I'm not barking up the wrong tree!
  19. You're right @sk golf but my method is to try anything to keep the wrists less cupped and if starting the backswing with a slight shoulder drop helps, then it can't be a bad thing? That and incorporating a feeling of a bowed wrist will hopefully pay dividends!
  20. Help needed please guys! I'm trying to figure out why my left wrist cups so much at the top of the backswing. After spending a few minutes in front of the mirror, it appears that my hands are too active in the early stages of the takeaway. As an alternative I tried dropping the left shoulder down to initiate the backswing, hands and arms quiet and turning the hips.......result was a flatter left wrist. Is the shoulder drop a temporary fix or the way to go? Thanks
  21. Latest swings sent to Stephan at evolvr. As I mentioned before, I've had very little time to practice recently. I'm working on less cupping of the left wrist at the top and also maintaining a centered pivot, both of which I'm finding really difficult to achieve. On the course, my distances are improving but some of my shots are now pulling to the left which is a result of my swing path. Much more practice for me...........
  22. Went to the range and also worked on my centered backswing. It's slow progress but my ball striking is improving.
  23. Experimenting with a more upright posture to try and solve my problem with lifting up during the backswing. Using a mirror and video for feedback and hope to get out to the range tomorrow to update my swing thread.
  24. Did my usual key #1 practice at the range before playing 18. Scored 32 but left so many out on the course!
  25. You can get the book on eBay in the UK. The seller is jezzard1 and they are an official seller of the book, it's who I got mine from.
