I need a new driver!
upstate-sc-hacker replied to Needtobreak80's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Go to your local store and demo everything you can get your hands on. I just bought last years Adams BUL 5000. Great club, and it made me alot better off the tee. -
Not mine, but one of my golfing buddies that has just gotten started playing regularly this summer. Hit his drive in the woods, dropped and chipped out, and from about 80 yards out hit the right front of the green and took a nice hop left and back and rolled right into the cup. Couldn't believe it. Luckiest thing i have ever seen.

31. Been playing since 13 or so. Not seriously until i started working on golf course maintanence after high school. Took 7 years off after i got out of the business (alot of good the rutgers golf turf maintanence program did) and just now starting to get the rust back out.

I live in honea path. I generally play Cobbs Glenn, or brookstone meadows. Sometimes i venture over to pine lakes (Just because it is closest to the house). I like to change it up a little bit. -
I thought about that after i wrote that. I am not sure if it was the g-10 or the i-10. But (just my opinion) they sucked. Just not for me. Would rather play the mx-25's any day of the week, or my 845's to be honest. And my handicap is now down to a 14. Not much better i know.

This is just my opinion, but i think the i10's are terrible. I went to a local pro shop and asked to hit the mx-25's and the guy grabbed about 5 different clubs. The i 10's were one of them. Awful! Too big and i found out what the term "shovel" means. Hit the mx-25's. Awesome clubs.

I am 31, so age was not the issue. I was just kind of scared of getting a set of forged irons that was already 8 years old. I really dont buy clubs often at all, the 845's i hit with now i have been playing since 96 or 97. But i said heck with it and bought them anyway. All i wanted in a iron was to be able to feel the ball, without taking a year to learn how to hit a set of blades. I also did not want a big cluncky set of super game improvement irons. I just dont want to keep masking swing flaws. So for $120.00, if i cant hit them or dont like them, who cares. -

Also ordered a mizuno mp-t series wedge. What do you guys think about buying used wedges? I bought it from prolinepreownedgolf.com so it should not be beat up. Just curious what everyones opinion was. -

Well i bought them. Hopefully they will be here by next monday so i can try them out. If they feel as good as the mx-25 and the mp-57 i hit i know i will love them. -
I (after weeks of deliberation) have decided to order a set of mizuno t-zoid comp ez's. I do not have a ton of money to order a six hundred dollar set and have found these for 120.00 in very good shape. I have hit the mx-25's and they were a thing of beauty, cant get over them. So i am wondering how the t-zoids compare to the mx-25's. Has anybody hit both? I hit my irons decent most of the time and shoot in the 80's, with my short game the worst of it. If any body can give me some feedback i would appreciate it.

I live in anderson about 30 minutes away. The Greenville country club is probably the nicest in downtown greenville. Th chanticlear course used to be in the top 100 in the USA, dont know if it still is. If you dont mind a drive, the cliffs courses are definitely the nicest around, but they are probably 45 minutes to an hour away set in the mountains. Awesome courses.

Need some advice please

Thanks for the advice. -
I forgot, i have also been scouring the clearance section on the online golf stores. I have always wanted a 2 iron, as i hit my 3 iron very well pretty consistently and really suck it up with my fairway woods. I found a Nike CCI on golfsmith.com for $9.99. A steal compared to 60-70 on ebay.

Do you get pretty good feel out of the TA7's because i was leaning pretty hard to those. I have read alot of good things about those. Hey you might want to check out callawaypreowned.com, they have a set of the TA7 tours for 169.99. Dont know how much you want to spend, but that seems like a pretty good price. -

Thanks for the advice fella's. That is a good price on the Ap1's, but i really dont want to spend that much. Plan is i hope that this set will get me enough feel to get more consistent in my swing. When that happens and i get comfortable enough with my game, i will probably go to a full blade or more of a players iron. I was just wondering if anyone had hit these before and if they were a pretty good transition from the 845s to eventually a blade. -
I have been looking for a new set of irons as of late and cant afford to spend 500 or 600 dollars on a new set. I currently am hitting TA 845s that are probably 15 years old or better and other than being a bit inconsistent i like them and wasnt even wanting a new set until i broke my old ping knock off driver a couple of months ago and bought the Adams bul 5000. Wow could not believe how much of a difference it made in my game. So now i am in the market for a set of irons. I want a set that will give me some feedback without having to take 100 trips to the driving range to learn how to hit them. I am a 19 handicap now, but i also quit playing for 7 years or so and just really picked my clubs back up. I was previously a 14 handicap and if i could ever have learned a short game could have probably been in the single digits fairly easily. I took a trip to a local golf shop and hit the Mizuno mx 25's, ping g5's, soe cobra's and the mx-19's. Hit the mx-25's first and to be honest they made every other club feel like garbage, but really cant afford them. When i hit them my swing speed with a 6 iron was 92-95 not trying too over swing. My irons are a pretty solid part of my game and am very comfortable with my long irons. These are some i was considering. Titleist 704cb and the 804 Cleveland TA 7 Since i really haven't hit another iron in 12 years or so, i would appreciate some feedback from someone that has played these irons. Thank you in advance for the help.

R7 460. Deal or no deal?
upstate-sc-hacker replied to mikelaw's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Definitely hit one first. I just bough the Adams Bul 5000 and absolutely love it. It would not have been my first choice though. I hit the R7 460 and the big bertha 460 and sasquach SQ2 or whatever that square piece of crap nike made is called. Adams was the cheapest and it added on average about 20-30 yards on the teebox over my old fake ping isi. -
Any experience with Callaway Pre-owned?
upstate-sc-hacker replied to 99s's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Yeah have been looking at prolinepreowned.com for the last couple of days and will probably order a set of irons from them in the next couple of weeks. If any body has ordered from them before, please let me know. I will post if i decide to order from them. -
I have saved a ton of money this year by buying rounds online. Most of the local courses in my area sell discounted rounds online. For instance 4 can play at one of the nicer local clubs in my area for 80$ on tues and thurs. Has been nice to find.
