  1. Well my plans changed in a hurry. I was in Seattle a few weeks ago and swung by the Puetz Golf store in Tukwila. They were great! Analyzed my swing and gave me some good tips. Wound up testing out a few different sets of clubs. The Mizuno JPX-EZ's in a +1 length were pretty darn nice and fit me perfectly! I went home with a set 5-PW. Probably cost about the same as the club fitter would have been for the Wishon or Swing Science. So far I've played a few rounds with them. My distances are surprisingly not much farther than I was getting with my cheapie Wilson clubs, but the Mizuno's are way easier to hit. I feel much more consistent with them.
  2. Just bought a new set of Mizuno JPX-EZ's yesterday. I've never really figured out my handicap and most games I don't even keep score, but I'm sure it's over 30. Hopefully these new irons will give me some accuracy. Funny thing is, I bought the Mizunos because I broke my FW wood (my only woods are a driver and 3W) at the range. Went to Puetz Golf in Seattle to look for a new one. I didn't replace it yet since that is my least used club. But I tested several sets of irons while in there and the JPX-EZ's were the best fit for me. I might actually get a Swing Science FW wood to match my driver eventually, but I think I'm going to look into one or two hybrid clubs first.
  3. I always shake hands. But I never piss on my own hand either. Maybe I'm too trusting of people's ability to not piss on themselves.
  4. Well, I hope not. I just bought a set of JPX EZ's yesterday!
  5. I'm a hydro operator at a dam on the Columbia River near Wenatchee, Washington.
  6. Beats me! I didn't think it was right when they told me, but I've only been golfing for about 2 years now so I've never really been to a private country club. The local municipal course has a yearly membership that isn't much less than the annual dues at the country club, but at the municipal course you get unlimited free golf for your money and there is no quarterly minimum. Maybe I live in bizarro world. It seems bass ackwards.
  7. Sorry if this has been covered, but I didn't find an answer in the search query. So I used the Facebook log in. I'm fine with that since I don't have to enter a password every time. Except when I do log in via FB, it now appears that every time I make a post in a thread here, it tries to post it on my FB wall as well. Anyone know how to disable that function? I don't see an option in the Facebook settings or here. Thanks
  8. 1) Improve my short game 2) Play with more consistency. No more difference of 20 strokes from day to day 3) Walk more rounds
  9. I recently looked into membership at the local private club. Granted I'm pretty new to the game, but I didn't really see much of an advantage at all. Especially given their pricing. You had to pay a membership fee annually, spend x amount of dollars in the clubhouse to maintain membership, and on top of that you still have to pay $100 for 18 holes of golf. What's the point? I can spend less than that to golf every other course around here and not pay an annual fee.
  10. I think Swing Science is a component club as well. I've never seen them sold anywhere and their website directs you towards club fitters. I guess I'll see what the fitter recommends. He has helped my game more than anyone.
  11. PW or SW for me depending on the lie. And the putter of course, but I didn't count that in my vote.
  12. OK, little of my history here. So I'm pretty new to the game. Been playing for just over a year. I have been using some Wilson "Red Zone" clubs that I got on clearance at Big 5 for $100. After taking a lesson, the pro recommended lengthening my clubs (I'm 6'6). Well I found a club fitter and he built me a Swing Science FC One driver and a sand wedge and lengthened the rest of my Wilson clubs. Well now I've played quite a bit with that setup and I've gotten a lot more consistent. I'm no gear snob by any means, but I've never heard of Swing Science or Wishon, but that is what the club fitter builds. I'm thinking of buying a new set of irons, but don't want to break the bank doing it. Like $500 is my budget for hopefully 4-PW and maybe a hybrid club or fairway wood. I'm happy with the Swing Science driver, so I guess I already have a positive opinion of the company, but I"m still a hacker noob. The fitter can build a set of SC irons for around $400 and I think the Wishon's were about the same. Anyways, long story short, anyone have any opinions on Swing Science or Wishon? I've at least found some threads here about Wishon, but not much about Swing Science. Opinions?

    Free Golf

I'm a bit spoiled. Most of the golf I've played has been free. I have a friend who works at a car dealership and they have a membership at a local course. Pretty good deal for a hack like me, as I don't like to spend too much to play cruddy. The cheap courses challenge me just as much as the expensive ones.
  14. Hello all. Just joined the forum and thought I'd say hi. I live in East Wenatchee, Washington. Pretty new to the game. Last year was the first time I ever played golf. I'm really taking to it though and I now play a few times a month. Anyways, looks like a great forum here. Pete
