  1. this is my question; how hard are you supposed to try and hit the ball in a full swing ? in ben hogans 5 lessons, he says you should try and hit the ball as hard as you can, whereas others have told me that i am trying to hit the ball too hard, when i was probaly hitting it 95% max. thoughts ?
  2. im pretty sure he was being sarcastic...
  3. well you deadlift 275 lbs, so theres no way you could possibly fail in making it pro ;)
  4. shot 87 on Sunday on my second full round on the long course =]
  5. I'd just like to know, how did you practise his teachings to get the hang of them so quickly? was it just hitting the range constantly, or did you practise mainly without a ball, or a mixture of both? thanks in advance :)
  6. just focus on keep a smooth, relxaed tempo throughout the shit - dont rush it. by far the most important thing in pitches etc.
  7. wouldn't it be great though if one of the pro golfers on this forum revealed their identity and just spent some time answering some of our questions on the swing tips section :)
  8. one thing i would like to know though, is how realistic is mr. hogan's claim that you can break 80 within 6 months if you apply yourself properly?
  9. move your hands so that both the V's are pointing somewhere around your right ear/shoulder
  10. best money i've ever spent on anything to do with golf. better than any lesson, and cheaper too
  11. yeah, i think i have something similar to you. i go through phases where i cant physically keep my hands quiet during the takeaway. i for some reason open my forearms and hands wide open, which ends up in a big hook also. sorry if it feels like im invading your thread, just thought id share my troubles with the world and let you know you are not alone
  12. In the past few days i've become particularly interested in improving my pitching technique (from about 30 to 70 yards), however, i've found that different sources on the internet are very contradictorary, especially about the set-up. Some say keep your weight distributed evenly, some say 60:40 in favour of your leading foot. Some say keep the weight on the balls of your feet, others say on your heels for balance etc etc. So to get to the point, i would just like to know what you feel is the correct pitching technique. Cheers, Mike.
  13. just wondering if anyone has any tips about making the most out of your range time, practise rounds etc., which help in making you improve as quickly as possible cheers, Mike
  14. or say that this could be your birthday present aswell..?
  15. hey, i just got back from the range, and was struggling to get a set position for my right thumb. so i was wondering, is there a precise, technically correct position for this thumb to rest, and does it actually affect the swing?
