My annual buddies golf trip is coming. 3 days, 5 rounds....can't wait. I wanted to get some ideas from some people about what to pack. My list so far: Clubs Balls Tees GPS Clothes (includes, shorts, pants, rain suit, shoes, socks, belt, etc) Powerbars (course snacks) Advil Medical tape (blisters) I'm looking for some other ideas for items I might need, what do you got for me?

Anyone playing in these events? I'm playing this weekend.

Hello everyone, I have a rules question and I'm not sure it was handled correctly, can someone please explain the ruling on this one? Player A hit's tee shot to left side of fairway (dogleg right). Player A (and the rest of the group) assumes it's a good tee shot and playable. Upon walking up to his ball, he notices that it's OB by a foot or so. Does player A have to return to the tee box and hit another tee shot? Or does Player A get to drop a ball on the line in which the ball crossed OB? Player A wound up heading back to the tee and hit another and took a 1 stroke penalty. Another player in the group thought that he could take a drop where the ball crossed the hazard and occur a 1 stroke penalty. Who is right? I think that this falls under rule 27 stroke and distance, true?

The beauty of this tour....you are not required to play in all the events...You pick and choose which ones you want to play in. Pretty cool if you ask me. Also noticed you can win visa gift cards (no more than $750 for amateur status), but a lot better than the golf channel and their golf galaxy gift cards. Looks like winners get crystal trophies and the prizes are also flighted.

Can someone share the difference between these 2 iron sets. Is it really just a players iron vs hackers iron? I would love to hear the differences. TIA

For those of you who are interested in playing in some amateur tournaments, the eGolf Amateur tour is opening up a Chicago branch. Play begins in April-2010. Fees are $90 to join and tourney fees range from $90-$150. Some good courses on the schedule. Better pricing than Golf Channel, and play some of the same courses for $20+ less. Definitely worth checking out. Home Page: http://www.amateurgolftour.net/chica...es/default.asp Schedule: http://www.amateurgolftour.net/chica...s/schedule.asp

Check out GolfTec. They have a few chicagoland locations and it's indoor, perfect for those Chicago winters.

Do you have a driving range routine? I would be interested in hearing what routines/drills you do when you go practice at the range. TIA

Our annual golf trip is coming and this past year a lot of the guys got the golfing bug, as a result our handicaps dropped and it has caused some changes in our "golfing talent". We always have a big 4 man scramble that's a big highlight of the trip. I'm having trouble creating the teams and thought it would be interesting to get a non-bias opinion. So have at it (if you want), golfers and their handicaps. How would you make 3 fair teams. Thanks in advance Golfer-HDCP A2.7 B9.0 C9.3 D15.0 E15.1 F15.3 G 15.5 H20.4 I21.0 J23.0 K26.0 L30.9

This happened to me this weekend and my playing partner and I did not know what the penalty was. Anyone have any idea?

This coming weekend I will be playing a round at Cantigny Golf Club just outside of Chicago. My buddy recommends we get caddies instead of carts. I think it's a great idea, but since I have never had a caddie I'm clueless on what to tip. The round of golf is $90 and they have regular and honors caddies (no clue what the difference is, but I would expect it has something to do with experience). So what kind of tip should I be looking to give? Does it also depend on how good of caddie they are or is this just a flat rate type of thing? What types of things make a good caddie? Anything I should be on the look out for? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

In our fantasy football league, the guy who finishes last get's his team renamed the following year as punishment. The other guys in the league create a new team name and a new logo. This year the guy be-renamed is a known stroke shaver. He's the guy that allows get's a bogey (at worse) on a hole and doesn't count all of his strokes. He's gotten a lot better because we have been riding him about it, but I would like to come up with an idea to put into his team name. I need your help. I'm an accountant and I'm not creative, got any ideas for team names for me?

I was playing 9 before work this morning, and as I was approaching the 5th green, one of the grounds crew zipped over the green with a fancy piece of equipment and dropped about 20-25 pieces of white foam on the green. I figured it was a pesticide or something, but I didn't get a chance to stop him and ask and my searches on the internet have not been helpful. Anyone know what it is?

I would check out the EGolf tour. http://www.egolf.com/amTour.aspx They are about half the cost of the Golf Channel Tour and have good competition. Looks like they have 3 tours in TN. Good luck.

I checked out the website but it doesn't have the tours listed, where can I find them?
