  1. AS promised here is a pic of the new Kimber. It is sitting along side my M&Pc.; Attachment 1965
  2. Saint and I have the same problem. Our states have been taken over by pigs. The one thing missing from my collection is a good pig rifle.
  3. The beauty of living in a free country like the United States I do not have to have a reason. It is not about need it is about want. I wanted an AR-15 and I own one. Besides playing golf shooting an AR-15 is as much fun as I have ever had.
  4. ChiChi- Ruger makes a hell of a revolver huh?
  5. The others from the above post. Attachment 1957 Attachment 1958 Attachment 1959
  6. Attachment 1954 Attachment 1955 Attachment 1956 I received a couple of requests to post a few pix of my new Kimber. I took the shots today but I cannot find the cord to attach it my computer. When I do I will upload them. In the interim here are a few other guns from my collection. I think a Gun Porn thread is in order. Here I have my FNP-9, XD-45, AR, Sig p228, Walther P-22 and Glock 19. These are just the ones I had in a folder on my desktop. Will try to post the others.
  7. I think any range that has mats should be disqualified from the list. Mats suck moose nuts!
  8. I would suggest it is quite funny and amusing. I just would not do it to his face! Lets take it easy here. The OP made a mistake in his post. Lets give him the benefit of the doubt and enjoy the updates we will get from this weeks tourney from him.
  9. My comment about it being in the golf bag was a little tongue in cheek. I lock my pistol in the trunk. I was thought that a light rail was a sacrilege until I saw the Kimber SIS with a rail. Sweet..... With the Crimson laser and the Surefire 300 you certainly are not going miss. You can blind him with the light and line him up with the laser. I would like to get a commander version one day. I blew a lot of money on guns in the past few months so I need to take a break.
  10. Funny you posted this now. The exact same thing happened to me about 5 weeks ago. My ribs were a little sore and when I was at the range I hit a driver and heard a "POP!" come out of my rib cage and down I went. I had to be taken off the range on a golf cart. For the last 5 weeks it hurts to breathe, cough, sneeze or roll over in bed. A little over a week ago I started playing golf again with 4 advil before tee off and a few during the round. Doc told me the same thing. Do nothing.... Even broken ribs can't really be fixed. Next time you go to to chip balls take some advil and see if you can transition to longer pitches.
  11. I recently had an epiphany and it has helped my ball striking quite a bit. I have always strived to have extremely light grip pressure throughout my swing to promote a nice free swing. What I found was that I could not really control the place where I cocked my wrist and the club would set at the top of my swing in different places. Recently I have been griping the club from address to the top of my swing with a much firmer grip. It allows me to really feel the club and control where I cock my wrists and set the club. As I begin my down swing I "let go of the club" and release almost all grip pressure. I still get the free swing but I can control where the club sets much better. Ball striking has improved quite a bit.
  12. +1 for PXC. Get the sticks out hit the golf course and deal with the misery now.
  13. A few months ago I posted some pix of my new H&K; USP.45 compact. It generated some responses so I thought I would let the boys know that I also just picked up a new Kimber Custom II with night sites. I will try to post pix in the coming days. Here is the pistol from the Kimber site: http://www.kimberamerica.com/pistols.../custom_II/75/ I took it to the range the other day and ran 140 rounds through it. 100 of 230 grain hollow points and 40 of 165 grain +p hollow points. The Kimber now becomes my nightstand gun, the H&K; goes into the car and my Smith and Wesson M&P; 9 compact gets carried and put in the golf bag.
  14. I am fairly sure Ian Baker Finch tossed up a couple of rounds in the 90's.
  15. Try golfworks.com . IMHO they have better equipment and are currently running a $5 per club custom install deal.
  16. I will just restate what i said above. Have clubs fitted in the two styles being suggested. Take them to the range and/or course and hit as many shots as you can. Pick the one that provides the best ball flight.
  17. In the movie Man On Fire Denzel makes the observation that a "bullet always tells the truth". Same thing goes with golf but the "ball always tells the truth". The easiest way to settle this debate is to observe what the ball is doing.
  18. This thread just cost me money. Using a 4W just makes sense.
  19. This will be the Zapruder film of 2009. "See how Kennedy lifts his hands up around his neck and Governor Connally's jacket puffs out as the first bullet passes through both of them...." "See how Tiger lifts his leg at the moment the fart is heard but Steve instinctively turns his head to the right as the fart ends...."
  20. I am building a set of clubs from my bro-in-law. Are Apollo shafts any good? I am trying to keep the pricing on the low end.
  21. Does anyone know where I can buy a new Cobra X Speed Pro D driver head in either 8.5 or 9.5? Thanks!
  22. You could have a set of these made for less than $215. I hit them once at Golf Galaxy and they were amazing. http://golfworks.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_CE0025
  23. One must have a clear understanding of the difference between "cheap" and inexpensive. Cheap clubs will almost always suck since they most likely are made with infererior materiels in a factory with poor QC. Inexpensive clubs may cost less not because they are of poor quality, but for the fact that the companies that make them do not have the same cost structure that the larger golf companies have. I recently made a complete set of Maltby MTF's for less than $300. The heads are made in the same factory that makes equipment for branded golf companies. I have 5 sets of sticks in my garage from Mizuno, Wilson and Titleist. The Maltbys are my fav. Just remember that every time you purchase a set of Nike or Titleists a large portion of the cost pays down their huge marketing expenses. Maltby and Snakeyes for example have almost zero marketing costs and sell directly to the consumer.
  24. Don't think about the money and just enjoy yourself.
