4 Woods - who is making them?
Paradigm replied to chriskzoo's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Nike SasQuatch Sumo Fairway Wood -
Pushing it... I wonder why all the great moments in the history of the NHL featured CANADIAN teams...hmm? Better yet, why are the greatest players ever in the game from the North? Nevermind...go...umm...Carolina!!! On a sidenote, it's funny that Carolina's GM, Head Coach, Captain and Assistant Captains are ALL Canadian...I wonder why???

Should be interesting...anyone have a rating for these? V V V

Don't ruin it...I'm watching the repeat at 7:30. LOL.

Redrilling the ball will not harm the ball as long as it's done properly. I have been thinking of doing mine soon to get the span changed. As far as the weight goes, they wouldnt have any weights added that weren't in the ball from factory, as it would be against the rules and impossible to do. Most balls have a certain shaped core that react different ways. The combo between core, coverstock and drilling is what gives you the amount and type of hook...aswell as overall skill of course. But about the wet lanes shot, try keeping the way you throw as is, but move further right and aim for the same spot. Should work out with a little tweaking. Depending on the lane condition, you have to adjust accordingly.

assuming you're right handed, you should stand on the right side of the lane and keep normal speed. there's usually less oil on the sides. i have the opposite problem, the lanes i play at are not consistent at all. theres days where i play far left, hook it to the far right and still hit the 1-2 pocket.

I've gone to the driving range at -15C, but that's because no courses are open in the winter in Canada.

What would Greg Norman do?

Ya, from the start we were p*ssed, but stayed in the league anyways...didn't think I'd get close to 300 anyways.
-
Unfortunately no, mine wasn't sanctioned. Long story short, during the first week of my league (which I missed) they decided to not pay the extra $10 per person TOTAL to have it sanctioned!

Ya, 299 is the worst game you can bowl imo. Still smarts to this day (~2 years ago). Last shot was Brooklyn by a long shot and surprised I even made 9, hands were shaking like never before. This happened the 2nd game and worst part is I didn't even hit a 700 series because I heaped it in the 3rd game. I asked for a printout at the end of the game and some pimple-faced kid working the counter grabbed the sheet, looked at it and handed it to me. All he could say was, "299? That sucks!" Not gonna lie, I felt like ripping him a new one at that point.
-
Nice scores. My high game is 299 (8 pin ) and series is a little under 700. Haven't bowled in a while tho, want to get going again as it is/was my primary recreational sport before golf.
-
Just curious but since I haven't seen any threads, does anyone here bowl? I myself like to bowl but haven't in a while. Used to be in a league every year.

It's my birthday and I'll swing if I want to!

what 4 wood would you recommend

im hitting the nike sumo 4w (last years model). so far so good. -
I'd say a good golfer is anyone who can hit to an 18 hdcp. Bogey golf is good. A scratch golfer wouldn't be considered "good" in my opinion, they are at another level altogether.

Fresh news from Titleist!, Regarding groove ruling.
Paradigm replied to hypergolf's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
looks like i should hurry and pick up a new spin milled vokey before they change the grooves. i'm no pro so no worries here yet. -
Club comparison. Looking for opinions.

Sorry to revive this but after trying every club I could, I went with the MX-200s. AWESOME clubs! Can't wait for it to warm up and get them out to the course. -
I've been playing the wrong equipment!
Paradigm replied to walfice's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Both are good clubs, but I have a feeling your responses will be a little one-sided. -
Whats the next addition to your golf bag going to be?
Paradigm replied to svchiefs19's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
new spin milled vokeys (50, 56, 60) and a nike sasquatch bag -
I take ownership of my mistakes all the time on the course, usually in the form of, "@#?* I suck!!!".

"That's what she said!"

I wish I would have taken golf more seriously when I was younger. I recently saw a kid at the driving range who was 14 years old (been playing since he was 11) and this kid could hit the ball consistently and accurately every time. Definately a low-handicapper and soon to be a scratch golfer by my age.
-
I believe I can easily get to a single digit handicap. I know my faults and what is causing me to still be in the 14-18hdcp range and have been working on those things.

Hey All, I've been trolling around this forum for a while now and figured it was time to join. I have been golfing for roughly 4 years now but haven't really been serious about it until this season. Towards the end of the season I calculated my handicap to be around 18, which was a lot better than the 25+ it was when I stopped. I figured it was time to step up my game and get rid of the crappy starter clubs I own. I realize it's all a matter of preference and will only know until I test out some clubs but I was looking for some opinions. Right now I am hitting some Dunlop Reactions (I know, lol) but was looking for a set to step it up with. I was looking for something a little closer to a players club than a SIG or a GI club. Right now these clubs have a moderate offset and an oversized face, but I was hoping to get something with less offset and a smaller face. I know the issues I have and am pretty sure with a few things tweaked I can lower my handicap to about 14 off the bat after working on some things this winter. My question is, what do you guys reccommend as a good forgiving player-ish club (I know these are contradicting terms)? I have a fairly quick swing speed. With my driver I have a ball speed of 140-150. I do not know my swing speed as the machine at Golf Town only displays ball speed. My irons are pretty long, ie. PW 125yds, 7I 170yds. I was looking along the lines of the following: TaylorMade R7 TP TaylorMade Tour Preferred Callaway X-20 TP (tested these out and wasn't too impressed tho) Mizuno MX-200 Mizuno MPs So far I am leaning to the Mizunos as I liked the feel of them, as well as the Tour preferred. Any thought of how these irons would be for a 14ish handicapper or just in general? Would I be able to continue using these clubs 5 years from now? Any opinions are welcome.
