No ...not even close..re-read the description ....you stand with the golf ball behind you and hit down on it.....I'll try and get a pic up later.

LOL....Yeah...I only do it to freak people out. There is another shot I developed with my putter and I had never seen anyone else do it before..and then one day I saw Tiger do it...and never before or since have I seen anyone else. This is a greenside shot when the ball is in really nasty stuff and buried up. It's kind of hard to describe, but bear with me. To give you an idea....the handle of the putter will be pointed at the hole...the club perpendicular to the ground...and you tap down like your trying to pound the ball in the ground. You hit the back end of the ball and "pinch" it out....it comes out hot with topspin...so it's definitely something you want to practice first, and reserve for when you need it.[quote name="boogielicious" url="/t/83755/putter-distance#post_1182829"]For quote, push the quote button in the post you want to quote. It's probably because I prefer computer forum but use a phone that these problems come up....I have to work around them....but I really don't like phone based stuff like Tapatalk.... EDIT: I'll give what you said a try though.....

That's not nice...if a post on a forum gets under your skin....perhaps you're one of those folks easily perturbed. There's always ways to kill some time on the course....maybe fix other people's divots, enjoy the scenery or conversation with your playing partners...maybe take a couple of practice swings or putts on the green after you've holed out....it always takes about 4 hours for me...because of slow players ahead. Yeah...single empty course 3! But your thinking is all screwed up! We go there to enjoy ourselves....why would you want to rush that? And as a Cancer survivor....I can tell you....stop and smell the roses....because a life spent rushing is just one getting faster to the grave without savoring what it has to offer....

IDK....I can't really say I enjoy pressure. As a matter of fact, I don't. Put I do enjoy a challenge. When I first started this game...I took it very seriously, I spent a lot of money on videos and golf clubs, did flexibility exercises and hit tons of golf balls, and got pretty good on the range. At the course, I was so nervous I couldn't drive a cart or even keep my score.... After a while...I settled down and the snowmen went away.... I'm an inconsistent golfer....I never know whats going to happen when I play....except something in my game is going to suck....might be my tee shots, might be my irons, even my short game can go to crap....(well...actually, that's not really my strong point anyway) .... But....If I keep the attitude that a bad tee shot offers an opportunity for a brilliant second out of trouble...I usually shoot a decent round....certainly better than my ability should allow... I actually say to my playing partners when I slice one off the fairway and they make a nice drive: "Hmfff, where's the fun in that? Anybody can hit from the fairway!" Point being....once I quit beating myself up for bad shots, and just accepted that I'm not really that good of a ball striker, and just concentrated on trying to make the next shot the best I could with what I had to work with....I found I could work my way around the course and not shoot that bad a score.... So for me....it's all about damage control...and problem solving and a positive attitude.

What does that mean?

A couple of things just strike me as crazy in this thread....What's wrong with taking practice swings while people are putting? If I'm 100+yards away from the green....frankly, it's none of their damn business what I'm doing and they should concentrate on THEIR game. And as I said earlier, my only problem with fast players is when they disrepect the course. Pro players take practice swings for a reason....and I do too. I recently played a round in a lot of pain and chose to forgo the practice swings (just hurt too much) and my game suffered. Now if someone takes a half dozen practice swings and then can't even make good contact....he is confusing the golf course for the practice range.... Anyway....I'm not sure what I did...hadn't hit any balls for a couple of years...and got this painful goose egg on my arm at the driving range the day before my HS reunion scramble.

I got my Boost for free....start now with the 411 and find the services that will help you....unless you are very wealthy, you will appreciate the assistance...as Cancer is also an expensive disease.

Doug...BTW, That's my name as well..Eating and trying to keep up weight is very important...remember you are fighting a battle and the gladiator in the best shape usually wins. I did 39 radiations and 8 Chemos of Taxitere and Sisplatin.(Spelling is probably wrong) ..... But I had throat Cancer....and they fried me so bad I couldn't even drink water for a couple of days... They had mr on nearly 200 mg. of Oxycotton patches, IIRC,....1.5mg? of oral morphine or 15mg. of slow release....(anyway it was both, just unclear on the dosages, I was also taking Tylenol #4's with codeine every 4 hours ....and I needed them. During treatment, I not only lost my saliva, but taste buds too. It's a little hard for people to comprehend....but literally, it's like this: you know you need to eat....but....to put yourself in my shoes....you have a handful of sawdust...you must eat it without water..but it's good for you and will keep you alive....so I survived on Boost...and lost 40lbs. So force yourself to eat and get some boost....

IDKY.??? But I can't seem to quote anyone...but man! You didn't need to go all the way to Arizona....it was 106° here today with low humidity.

OK....Right at the moment..I'm not going to post pics...but..I'm always ready to talk food!!!! Especially BBQ! I mean really? ...I'm a Texan! So...just a few things: Ummmm.....first..crap it was hot today! At 106°f....you almost don't need to light the wood....and it makes it hard to keep the temps down to properly smoke anything! Now...just a couple of other things: a dove breast, deboned with a half a jalapeno inside, wrapped in bacon, marinated in Coca Cola and soy sauce overnight and grilled over mesquite coals is about as good as it gets. Turkey and chicken: Should always be marinated in salt, sugar, seasonings, and Worcestershire sauce overnight before smoking. I recently bought a Redi-Check smoker monitor....and its awesome...basically a remote monitor that monitors both smoker temperature and food temp with a remote monitor you can watch inside or clip to your belt....it has an alarm...but honestly...I've only used it once and didn't get that set or working...but just monitoring was awesome.

Well...my putter is from my first set of Wal-Mart golf clubs....(Foremost) .. I have to admit though, I have cringed a bit while swinging it....because putting is one of my strong points...(I practice stopping a a golf ball on top of a Q-Tip inline from 10'away.) And I've tried several other putters, including building my own....and nothing works better than that one. To give a little background, I didn't pick up the game until I was 43....I'm 58 now...and on a good day I can push my 9 iron 150...but it's basically my 100-120yard club....My best score was an 85 on a par 72. EDIT: BTW: My username comes from regular visits to the woods on the golf course....lol.
