  1. Great, thanks for all the info. I go on Thursdays so I'll get a chance to use it!
  2. So is this like a chip club for when you are just off the green (within 0-20 yards)?
  3. Before the last 6 months I golfed probably once a year. The last 6 months, myself and a couple of friends have been golfing on a weekly basis. I'm slowly replacing 20-25 year old clubs with new ones. I just bought a used set of Callaway X Hot irons. I currently have the X2 hot woods and driver that I love, but the X Hot irons were too good of deal to pass up. My question is what is an "A" Wedge used for? Honestly I had never heard of one so I'm wondering in what situations you would use an "A" wedge instead of a PW or an SW? Thanks.....
  4. I watched the videos that Mvmac posted and they really helped. I played an executive course yesterday after school (I teach) with a friend. It has 3 par 4s and everything else is par 3. Par there is 57 and I shot a 71 which is my best. I had 7 pars which is also the best I've done. I focused on keeping my elbow in like the video said and it made a huge difference.
  5. Thanks for the help. I'm going to try and post a video, but haven't played much lately because of the holidays.
  6. For some reason I tend to hit the ball in a way that the ball starts straight and then drifts to the left. I'll end up pin distance, but 25 feet to the left. I know its difficult without a video of my swing, but I was just wondering if there are some basic things I'm doing that cause that and how to fix it? Thanks.....
  7. My drives have improved the most. I went from a good drive of 200 to 210 to averaging 230-240 with my best drive last week of 280+. On top of the better distance I'm hitting straighter and keeping the ball in the fairway a lot more.
  8. When I first got back to playing back in March I was driving 200-210 (if I was lucky enough to hit it straight). I've now hit 3 that have gone over 240 and my fairway percentage has gone way up!
  9. I went from 25 year old woods and driver to the Callaway X2 Hot Driver (10.5), 3 wood and 5 wood and they have made a huge difference for me! My shots are farther and much straighter!
  10. I don't need a sentence, just a word. inconsistent
  11. I went from 30 year old driver and woods to the Callaway X2 Hot adjustable driver (I put it at 11.5) and 3 wood and 5 wood. I also got a 5h, no name. I'm working on getting the X2 Hot hybrids and irons as well. The driver and woods have really helped my scores.
  12. Thanks for the thoughts valleygolfer. This is my first driver I purchased that is better then the 10-20 year old hand me downs. That is definitely something I'll look into as I play more and hopefully improve. Good thoughts, DrvFrShow. I didn't think about that. I do have it on the neutral settings and you're right I should just leave it and not create any more bad habits then I already have! lol....
  13. I got the Callaway X2 Hot 10.5 driver with a regular flex shaft that can be adjusted down to 9.5 and up to 12.5 with a Draw/Neutral/Slice setting. That was a lot of options for me! lol....I decided to go to a driving range and go through every setting. I hit about 8 balls at each loft. My best consistency came with the 11.5 loft in the Neutral setting. I hit 8-10 straight and hit them into the 220-240 range with a couple going passed the 250 sign. At 9.5 I hit a couple that far as well, but only hit a couple of them straight. I'm going to stick with the 11.5 loft at the moment, but going to see what works better for me, the Neutral setting or Draw setting.
  14. thanks...and when you flip what does it cause the ball to do when you make contact, i.e. ball goes left, right, up, etc?
  15. I am about to show my ignorance and ask, what exactly do you mean by "flipping"?
