Well aren't you a clever fellow. I don't need to know how Vegas odds work. Yes some gamblers make money. Basically laundering illegal cash from various sources and are willing to lose 5% over time to avoid 35 % taxation. Myself I make good money and pay taxes. I don't need to give any to a gambling house. Some folks are trust fund children who have excessive amounts of money they have no idea of how it was made and spend time gambling. Then there are the sad cases of folks who believe they are lucky and blow their money and life savings.

I agree totally. Hank Hainey called this team the "Boys Club". More interested in locker room chemistry as opposed to the best golfers. It was clear to anyone who watches and understands golf that Hank was correct.

USA: Scheffeler is arguably one of the best players in the game. Yet he has been struggling with his putter the later part of the season Brooks Koepka is the next best yet ZJ snubbed him the first round 1 morning group. Dumb move. After that good players but no one played particularly well near the end of the season except Harmon. Europe: Rahm has been solid for at least two seasons Holland probably the best young player on the planet Mcllroy is having a great season Fleetwood has been playing very well especially late in this season

Ok I acknowledge that I was wrong about the Vegas odd. My question is how could Vegas be so far off? It was clear to anyone who watches golf that the European team was far stronger than the US team. BTW I don't think even a better selection of US players would have helped much.

Very cute cartoon. You must be pretty bored to dig that up. have a nice time watching the RC tomorrow.

Last I checked it's still a country of freedom of speech. At least as long as we have a sane president and a senate majority. I am not a gambler as I work hard for my money and know that Vegas and any other gambling arena makes odds that over time you are guaranteed to loose. I thought I saw odds favoring Europe when I posted that. As I have said I am not a gambler so perhaps I mistook the negative numbers as against the USA. I really don't give a shite! I do bet on my golf games as I like the incentive that money games bring to my game. Clearly the USA is being out matched in all departments. Zack Johnson is a nice guy but has made numerous bad decisions and Luke Donald has shown a genius level of decision making.

I got laughed at when i made the prediction that USA was in trouble a couple of weeks ago. I made a comment that Vegas was going strong for Europe. I was given a rash of shite from a bunch of people here. Well looks like this thing will over sooner than later.
-
Another consideration. This is the first RC since the inception of LIV golf. Only one USA player Koepka is from the LIV tour.
-
Spieth played 10 tournaments in the last season zero wins and missed 4 cuts. Finau had two wins.
-
Regardless of the makeup of the USA Team they are going to have their hands full. It is a very weak team compared to those of the past. Europe has top players playing in top form. Vegas has Europe as a solid favorite.
-
Finau has two victories in this last season. Spieth has none. Two or more victories should almost be a lock IMO. Yes JT has performed well in the Ryder cups previously. He also was playing in the regular tour events at a very high level. Not so this last season. I believe you are putting a lot of pressure on a golfer who is currently in the lost and found department.
-
Keegan should be on the team as well as Tony Finau and Lucas Glover. You have the Captains picks so you can get players who are on the rise with their game. JT, Spieth and Burns do not qualify for this criteria. This mumbo Jumbo about team chemistry is just nonsense. I think there was some pressure from big money sponsors who calculate that big name recognition is more important than actual quality of play. If they get a 10% larger viewing audience in a loss to Europe it is better then a victory with 10% less viewers. Sadly it comes down to the almighty advertisers dollar.

I have had a Cart-tek which had a hand held remote but I want one that I don't have have any type of controller in my possession. I saw there was one that worked on some kind of optical imaging that you could control with hand signals. Has anyone tried it or maybe another option is out there? I don't mind spending money so long as it works consistently and last for a couple of years.

I know it sounds a little odd. Also I have only tried it with the Bullseye. But the brass has such a nice soft feel it seems very easy and I have dropped some nice birdies with it.

You can but with a very quick down hiller it nice to not have to adjust your wing speed but rather use this trick. Don't knock it until you try it.

I switched to graphite about 10 years ago. Currently 65 years old. I would never think of playing steel shafts. Except for my wedges. I started playing golf seriously when I was 42. Before that I played fairly competitive tennis. When the graphite tennis racquets came on the scene the wood vanished. There are some teaching pros who tell you real players only play steel. I think that is becoming more myth than reality.

Since switching over to the Bullseye Putter my putting skills have increased from poor to recently earning the name "Mr One-Putt" at my club. I kind of went nuts and bought about 15 of them on EBay. I paid about $20 each. They all need restoration which I enjoy doing. I have found a few tricks I like to use with them. My favorite is when faced with a very fast downhill putt is hit it on the inside edge of the putter face. It dampens the putt and slows the roll down significantly. The soft feel if the brass is unmatched by the current putters.

I just bought 10 used Acushnet bullseye putters that need sresotoration on eBay. I really enjoy working on bringing back the original finish. Brass is a very forgiving and easy metal to work with. Eventually I might start selling them but for now I enjoy the rewards of restoration. It is fun researching and reading the histories of these putters developers. I have developed my own "Putting Lab" in my office. I probably hit 100-200 putts daily. There's no question that has improved my putting stroke and technique. In terms of the grips I have been changing the leather ones that have no company logos with a more modern rubber grip that I like. I am leaving the original Bullseye grips on that are in decent shape. They definitely are not anything I would like to use. Too thin for me. -
Maybe if the electric vehicles and solar power take over the demand for oil will collapse. Then the life of excess in the Middle East will end. I can attest that solar power is extremely effective. I use solar power in my small business and have cut my fairly high electric utility needs by 90%. Saving me around $15,000 per year. Looking forward to buying the F150 LIGHTNING.

Since the last blizzard hit us in Massachusetts winter golf on Cape Cod has come to a screeching halt. So the next best thing is working on the putting on carpet. I bought a putt returning machine. The first was battery operated and worked for about two days. Then I bought a AC powered one which is the same that was around way back when I was a kid (Yeah the Stone Age). I have been watching some YouTubes with Martin Hall and Blair O'Neal doing putting drills. It seems like the best take away was developing a a consistent tempo. I have tried it and I have to say it seems to increase my consistency and accuracy. I hope it translate over to playing when the weather clears. Any thoughts on practicing on carpet? I have a fairly tight carpet so I think it is fairly fast.

Yes I do have some R/L putters and yes I will be selling them. They won't be ready for about a week or two. I guy has been saving them for me and he just shipped them today. I will let you know when they are ready. Just curious do want the original grip or a new grip. I haven't seen the clubs yet but I think some of grips might be worth refurbishing. I can replace them with the grip of your choice also. Just something to think about. Let me know what you think. This batch is all Acushnet Bullseyes.

Thank You Vinsk. That makes sense M5C: M=medium lie c= corded grip 5= 35 inch I printed it out as I am starting a new hobby refurbishing brass putters. I have 10 Achusnet Bullseyes which I am working on.
-
I have recently bought a few old brass putters and noticed that there are markings on the soles that are stamped in like M5C on an Achusnet Bullseye and B2 on an "Old Master" brass putter. I was hoping someone here might know what that means?

About 5 years ago I bought a Brass Master when I was in a golf shop in Sebastian, Fl. It was old but the shop owner put a nice Tacki Mac rubber grip on it. I putted great with it. But being a fool and thinking the grass was greener with another putter I put it in the mothball arsenal of clubs of which I have plenty. This year I put a nice green carpet in my office and bought a putting return machine. I have found myself making a morning routine of putting for 5-10 minutes everyday. My putting has gotten much better. I brought out all the formerly benched putters from my garage and tried them all at my new practice facility. Well as you can guess the old Brass Master has found its way back into the starting lineup. It really has a nice soft feel and as others have said here lets you know when you are getting off center on your putts.
