  1. I use to blade em across the green, like everyone else. Many times too wristy, but; The key for me was to keep my head down looking at the grass that was under the ball. A drill that helped was to break the tee off near the top and push it into the ground so the ball sits above it not necessarily on it. You need to see that tee before you look up to see where the ball went.
  2. If I'm playing with someone I consider a friend and seems to take care of their clubs, I have no problem letting them share a club if they "forgot" one even if they probably could make due without borrowing. If wagering were involved, no. Would I ask to use someone else's driver? No, as I would see this as an opportunity to work my 3w in situations I might never have tried.
  3. To practice as much as I play . My second round of the year yesterday was better than my last round 7 years prior, (took a 7 year break). Started practicing late Feb. 09 and didn't want to play a round until comfortable over the ball and striking. Also, started marking my ball for putting which helped and really focused on choosing a purposeful shot then selecting the club for that shot. 2009, focusing @60% at chipping/putting green, 20% Driving range, 10% game managment (studying course layout/yardage/safe misses) 10% fitness/flexability. In 2002, it was 90% driving range, 5% putting and 5% buying gadgets. I accept now, "Golf is not a game of Perfect" and game managment is more important than nailing your drive in the middle of the fairway every time.
  4. That's not a fair comparison, apples to oranges. Being younger and starting to learn golf at a very young age, Tiger has the advantage of learning from the sum of all his peers, including Jack. I also think that Tiger has no more "raw" talent than most other top 20 professional golfers but, his work ethic and perfection driven personality has given him the foundation for success. Tiger has started something (modern era of golfing) that future players will have to emulate to be contenders. These players will be even better given continued equipment advances, strength training along with high tech analysis/coaching and, insane 24/7 dedication to improvement. Guess the big hurdle will be avoiding "burn out". Maybe that's the talent part.
  5. My new one (this century) is www.ptccalabama.com/ but I spent most of my time down the road at www.highlandparkgolf.com in the 90's.
  6. Dentist and I view at work in between seeing patients.
