  1. 548yd. Par 5, hard dog leg right. If you cut the corner just right and avoid the houses along the fenceline you can put yourself in a decent spot with about 225-230 to the center of the green. Luckily, with my drive, I had done just that. While waiting for the green to clear, I giggled to myself and my playing partner I was going to roll the ball up on the green into the group playing ahead of us. After I wised up and waited, I "let 'er rip" only after they had putted out. I struck it well, and thought I might of actually made it to fringe, when I heard " Oh My God !!!," from the group ahead of us as I saw their carts driving off, and then suddenly stop. Fearing that I missed seeing a straggler walking off the green, and just rendered him unconscious or worse, we quickly drove up to see if I had just committed manslaughter. As we got closer, I heard " Holy S**t dude, it hit the stick, it hit the stick !!" from one of their foursome. After closer inspection, 3ft tap-in for eagle. Sure beats the potential of being sued, or even jail time any day.
  2. I have managed to find plenty of good deals through Ebay. At times it can be frustrating, but so far I have scored Ping, Zero Friction & Adidas shirts/outerwear for upwards of 60% to 75% off of retail.
  3. Normally I don't brand shop as a rule, but I managed to score not 1 but 2 pairs of those new Adidas Tour 360 3.0 LTD, black on white & white on black for under $100.00 each on Ebay. It took me a while to finally win a bid on them for that cheap, but patience pays off. Wow...they have to be one of the most comfortable pairs of golf shoes I have owned. 2yr waterproof warranty, hand-finished full-grain leather and that 3D FitFoam sock liner makes for a great shoe. Very impressed...
  4. I think that is an interesting concern, especially seeing that every nurse or physician I work with seems to own an iPhone. ("Baaaah, Baaah, " little sheep, join the rest of the herd...is what I jokingly tell them.) However, I think with the advent of newer, far more accurate devices like the Callway uPro GPS and SkyCaddie SG5, that seem loaded with more pertinent features...iPhone golf GPS apps will soon fade away. I as well am not a big fan of multi-function devices, and these $24.99 iPhone apps, that install next to your iFart, Facebook icon, or whatever...
  5. Practice More Consistenly I know that there are hundreds of other things in anyone's life that need more attention at times, but thorough and dedicated practice can easliy be added...home, at the course or the range. Bring Handicap to Single Digits Self explanatory, but as of yet always seems just out of reach. Play More Tournament Golf In my case, I believe that the added pressure and ideally playing with others as good, or preferably better only forces you to try to play at a higher level. Force Myself to Play Better Course Management It's cool when you can damn near drive a green on a short par 4 or have a shot at a eagle putt inside 20ft, but not always worth the risk of OB or hazards. Gotta play smart, to play well.
  6. I remember watching Jack at the end of his career and was always amazed a his fortitude. Tiger, in his own right is amazing, but is just a different golfer in a different era. Power and technology prevail now...then it was just a different game.
  7. The Golf Club at Star Ranch is a nice north Austin course near where I live. http://www.starranchgolf.com/golf/proto/starranch/
  8. I work at a local Austin hospital as a NICU Transport Therapist. A big title for someone who resuscitates/transports premature babies via ambulance, helicopter or plane from outlying hospitals to ours for treatment and management. Women keep having babies, so I suppose I will continute having a job. It's a pleasure to be a new member of thesandtrap.com.
