  1. Hey everyone, I have a old set of Titelist DCI 990's. They just sit in my closet taking up space and dust. My girlfriend is trying to start playing golf, but she doesn't have any clubs. We have talked about cutting these down to fit her, but I was wondering if it is a good idea. All it is going to do is make the shafts stiffer and harder for her to hit. What do you guys recommend to do? Should I cut them down, just re-shaft them, or try to trade or something on a newer set of Womens clubs. I also have Nike Sumo Driver I am going to cut down for her. I want to make sure the clubs she plays with are decent and easy for her to hit so she sticks with the game and has fun. Thanks
  2. That is true, not much ball roll. I figured that I was hitting down on it. I am not unhappy, I actually think it is just another shot to add to my bag so to speak, just wanted to make sure my assumption of hitting down on the ball was correct.
  3. I have a quick question. I played about four times in a row last week. I played really really well the first two rounds, decent the third and fourth. In my last two rounds I noticed that when hitting my driver, I was actually breaking my tee's in half every time. I was putting the ball in the fairway, but my trajectory was extremely high, and distance wise I was still relatively about the same. I was wondering what could cause the tee's to be breaking like this, I have never seen this before? Is it that I have or am swinging at a steep angle? I do believe that my front shoulder is dipping causing me to be uneven on my down swing, leaning forward to much I guess. Anyway, thanks so much.

  5. Having been to two opens at Pinehurst, Sawgrass, and Wachovia, as well as a number of Senior Tour Events, the practice rounds are the best for the open. You get to see more golf so to speak and have the ability to follow whomever you like. Weekend wise, get to the course early, follow a group early to see the course, and then pick a hole to postup on for the afternoon (At No. 2, we always went and got to 17). Even though the weekend is a madhouse, I would atleast go once because there is nothing like a Sunday at a major.
  6. I have been to both Opens at Pinehurst, Sawgrass a few times, and Wachovia, along with a number of Senior Tour events. As for the Open, I agree the practice rounds are the best rounds to attend. You really get to see these guys upclose and personal. As for the weekends, I would get there early and pick a group to follow around to see the course setup for the day and then look for a good hole to post up for the later afternoon rounds. The weekends become a madhouse.
  7. Norman is content being married and making money on his other projects, and who can blame him the Tour is def a grind, as for Freddie, would love to see him win, he normally contends a handfull of times a year, so he has a chance. I think that Couples would do it before "The Shark", but would love to see both of them, grew up watching those guys toward the middle/end of their primes.
  8. Thanks for the help guys, I am sure I do not have the entire prob fixed, but I was at the range today and worked on my Grip and that did make a difference, as I believe it put my body more in sync with the way it should be. Again thanks.
  9. Glen Dornoch, by far my favorite course I have played there (played it 7 times), it is up in the Northen part, right by NC and SC border. Price range is right in your area last I was there, it was like 40 or 45 afternoon rate. Its a great course, you have to be very accurate.
  10. The ball starts out where I am aiming, then it hooks/draws left. It only happens about 4 or 5 times a round, but is very frustrating, as I believe it could drop my score by 3 or 4 strokes. When it normally happens I am between 15 and 20 yards left of my Target.
  11. Hello everyone, I am new to the forum. I just have a quick question. I have a problem at times of having a huge draw or hook on my Iron shots (mostly long Irons). I have been told from friends I play with they believe it is my hips, and front side not firing through so to speak. How accurate would this be? And what are some drills or things I can do to fix this, it doesn't happen all the time but when it does it I am missing my target by 30plus yards left. Thanks so much.
  12. Hello everyone, I am new to the forum, and just wanted to Introduce myself. I am a recent College grad, and I play around two times a week, and I am just trying to get better. I have never had a lesson in my life.
  13. Hello, I am a 23 year old recent college grad, play golf about twice a week, atleast once with my dad. New to the site. Golf course is the one of two places I can go to not worry about anything, the other is when I hunt.
