  2. @iacas quick question, I've had my 58* and 54* in the DVR grind for a few weeks now and I'm really struggling out of the sand which used to be a strong suit. Because of the bounce when I'm trying to hit the ball out, the club isn't getting underneath the sand to explode the ball out and I've been blading it or catching it thin with the leading edge even though I'm entering the sand well behind the ball. So much so I had to use my Gap wedge that I have with my regular iron set with less bounce. Any thoughts or suggestions out of the sand? I'll be hitting the practice range to try to get the kinks out. On a positive note, the bounce has really allowed me to hit some low 50-75 yard spinners played from the back of my stance and getting a nice clean beaver pelt divot which I've never attempted to before due to the fear of chunking it.
  3. Well I didn't have a chance to fully warm up before I started hitting so there is that discrepancy since I started with 10.5 and worked down to 8.75.
  4. Hey all, Need a little help and analysis of the data below. I was a little shocked after looking at the data because I was expecting a higher launch angle to give me the optimal numbers although the lower lofted and lower launch angle gave me the best numbers here. I know this doesn't show my AoA but just wanted to get your guys' feedback and suggestions on the limited data that I have provided here. Should I stick with the 8.5 and work on increasing my AoA? (One note, the 8.5* listed on the screenshot is actually 8.75*)
  5. I'm 6'4", he measured for that as well we added 1" on everything. I'm going to head back to the same simulator today and try to hit again at 1" down and 1.5" to see if it makes a difference.
  6. Yeah he did flex and kick point. The Mizuno DNA fitting analyser was pretty neat, got us pointed in the right direction and then took it from there trying shafts.
  7. This was literally day 1 hitting these new clubs so maybe I shouldn't put too much stock in this until I have a few times at the range.
  8. Yeah I did, I went to a local Golf Digest Top 100 fitter. They're Mizuno JPX-900 Forged by the way .
  9. Hey all, I went to measure my new irons today to get some data and what really dumb founded me that when I went to choke down 1" on my short irons (50* Gap and 45* PW) they were longer or the same distance (carry). The 9 iron showed what I was looking for and expecting (3-4 yard difference). When I was hitting the balls I didn't look at the numbers of each shot, I took 10 good swings and then looked at the averages when I was done. Let me know your guys' thoughts...not sure if it was just a fluke but I didn't feel like I was trying to swing any differently. I hit about 9-10 balls to get a good average and the ones that I didn't put a good swing on I deleted it from the average itself. The only thing I can think of is I took full swings with the GW,PW and 9i then did 1/2 and 3/4 swings to get those averages with the 3 clubs and then went back and hit the clubs full swing 1" choked down. See the data below: Full gap wedge - 115 carry 1" Choked down - 120 carry Full PW - 137 carry 1" down - 137 carry 9 iron - 151 carry 1" down - 148 carry http://imgur.com/a/wOLkZ
  10. Scheduled for my fitting on Tuesday and the fitter should have both the classic and torque to try out. I'm pumped! Now the extremely hard decision of what engravings and color scheme .
  11. I know this is very subjective and will depend on the person putting but I'm sure @iacas can shed some light on this since he seems to be the resident Edel expert . In your experience have you seen any data on a SAM puttlab to prove that the torque balanced keeps the putter face more square at impact as advertised? I know personally I just need to test the putters and go with which one feels and rolls the best and I'm hoping Mike will have both styles so I can decide in person! When it comes down to it I'm a numbers geek doing research on the front end but at the same time paralysis by analysis can be the death of a golfer, luckily when I'm on the course I get into the zone and just play.
  12. Thanks for the feedback, I was already planning on giving him a call tomorrow to schedule!
  13. Good looking putter, how have you liked it so far? Seen improvements? Did you have the option to do the classic style putters? If so, why did you go with the torque balanced?
  14. Hey guys, I'm sold on doing an Edel putter fitting soon but all the places that fit near me only do the E-Series torque balanced putters and not the classic line. My question is, am I missing out by not having the opportunity to fit for a classic style putter? Also what are you opinions between the torque balanced (toe up) design compared to the classic? The torque balanced seems a little unconventional since it's new but I have the preconceived notion to go with the classic line because I'm not sure how tried and true the torque balanced and toe up truly is.
  15. Also, as a follow up to this. I was using the ping app for the second time last night and the app is showing that I'm at a a 70* lie angle. Based on my picture here that doesn't seem right. The stock in the putter is 71*.
