  1. I got some extra distance with my driver using the Taylormade Burners LDP ball. I normally average 211 yards using the Nike Powersoft. I was averaging over 220 with the Taylormade Burner. When I hit the green, the ball still seemed to check ok. But I never generate that much spin with my irons or wedges.
  2. You can get last year's Taylormade Burner Driver for $150.
  3. Lofts in the drivers are normally 12* to 14* for women.
  4. Well, I just got the Yes! Amy putter for $50 on ebay. I've been averaging 2.1 putts with the Nike IC 20-15 and the Mr. Beaseley putter. First round with the Yes Amy putter yesterday, 1.75 putts. So much easier to do a pendelum stroke with this. Only negative is it makes a wierd sound when you miss the sweet spot.
  5. Puetz golf in Seattle. http://www.puetzgolf.com/puetzgolf/p...d&dept;_id=1300
  6. Just saw the Bobby Jones hybrids on sale for $99.
  7. I got a new Nickent 3DX DC hybrid at the local shop here for $40. They also had a Ben Hogan CFT-ti hybrid for $40 also. I liked the sound and feel of the 3DX better but I hit the CFT-ti pretty well also.
  8. Do the guys that have one use the 37* or the 42*?
  9. Thanks for the replies. I haven't been able to find one to try out, but I like the feel of the Yes Marilyn, but looking for a center shafted putter.
  10. Has anybody ever tried the Yes Amy Putter? It's a reverse face balanced center shaft putter.
  11. I normally shoot upper 90's. Just changed to a strong grip and shot a 91, 71% fairways hit, 50% GIR. Now if only I can putt.
  12. I just got the Tour Edge XLD and at the range, I've been hitting it almost 20 yards longer, and much straighter than my previous driver. Going to try it at the course tonight.
  13. Try the tomahawx tees. It's made to slide forward at impact. http://www.tomahawx.com/home.lasso
  14. Tour Edge CNC Forged.
  15. All my clubs values went up from what they were in the Spring. Must be the prime club shopping season. The PGA trade value site basically gives an ebay value. It's a good time to trade. Trade values are up and new equipment are getting lower and lower. Just saw Ping G10 fairway woods for $99 at the local shop.
  16. My girlfiend has a set of Adams A3OS that has helped her game alot. The other irons she hit well when we were shopping were the Ping Raptures and Taylormade RGB. She just started golfing and were hitting high and straight with these irons.
  17. I have that same opinion about thick toplines. I have the Bridgestone GC.Mids which has a thin topline, great feel, and is still plenty forgiving. The Adams A4 has a pretty thin topline also and it's forged.
  18. Bridgestone e5 is made for extra carry and pretty good feel also.
  19. Tour Edge QLS irons with steel shaft for $299. I tried them at a demo day and they went high and straight.
  20. Something to think about. Tour Edge has a lifetime warranty on their products. Break a driver...send it in... they'll send you a new one.
  21. I've been shopping for a combo set. Tried the following (w/ graphite shafts for all except Launcher): Mizuno MX-100 - Hit the irons and hybrid high and straight Tour Edge QLS - Similar to MX-100, but much cheaper Adams A40S - Couldn't hit the iron or hybrid. Too heavy. Cleveland Launcher - Hit the hybrids the best. Not quite as well with the irons. My problem now is I liked the Launcher Hybrid and the MX-100 irons.
  22. I think I heard Nicklaus say once pick a target short of the hole and put aggressively to it.
  23. I tried a Powerbilt set that was on sale for $150 and they were really easy to hit. I got a set of no-names clubs from Big 5 for $80 and they were impossible to hit. I would at least go with a brand that has some R&D; and is known to make golf clubs rather than a brand that makes something that "looks" like golf clubs.
  24. I play the GC.Mids. I like the mid size with a thin topline and not too thick sole but yet still forgiving. Shots on the sweetspot feels awesome.
  25. Hybrids are built with shorter shafts and are made to swing like a long iron while woods have longer shafts. If a wood and hybrid have the same loft, the wood should go farther having the longer shaft and therefore, higher swing speed.
