  1. One thing that I found to help with this is using a nice easy tempo. The trick is to not swing hard and keep the right elbow close to the body at impact. Once that happens, your left arm will naturally rotate along with your right and your right arm will extend. Just take the follow through down your target line.
  2. Keeping your left arm straight will help with making square contact at impact. Not everyone is able to keep their left arm straight, especially if you aren't used to it. Keep working at it and when it becomes second nature to you, you'll see the benefits.
  3. I noticed that there are a lot of posts on games and routines but not a lot on mechanics (hand placement and your posture). One of the earlier posts mentioned putting the grip in the lifelines of your hands. This will help with keeping the putter on the same plane and will help with a more consistent stroke. Play with your hand placement and see what works best for you. I've seen players have both hands open on the grip and other with palms perpendicular to the target. Posture is another to watch. Make sure that you bend just enough where your putter is just barely touching the ground. A lot of problems start when you try to take the putter back and it gets caught on the ground. It also can cause you to ground the putter during your follow through. When you practice, watch how your putter goes back and through. If it opens during your back stroke and closes on your follow-through, make sure your ball is where you blade makes contact right in the middle of your swing arc. If you are more of a pendullum stroke, ball placement is also critical here. Pick a spot about 2-3 inches in front of the ball on your target line and stroke the putter down that line, still keeping your head down.
  4. Another thing to look at is the displacement of the fibers before the ball and after. If the fibers start before the ball, you're hitting it fat. if the fibers start after the ball, your are hitting the ball before the mat.
  5. I have the same problem. Seems no matter where I place the club head in relation to the ball (at the toe, just outside of the toe), I seem to hit it on the heel. Based on the posts, I need to keep my left arm extended and my right elbow in, good weight distribution (60% right leg, 40% left leg), and nice smooth swing. Did I miss anything else I need to concentrate on?
