9.5 or 10.5 degree driver?
fendermallot replied to d373rm1ned's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
take your driver to the range, ask the pro shop if you can try out a 10.5 in a model you like. compare and contrast. -
Well if you're thinking of buying Ping's, shouldnt they all be nearly the same price? I heard that they have a strange pricing fix on their clubs. I read an article about them pulling their products due to a store giving price breaks to military men (which pissed me off). Dunno, good luck with finding the right clubs.

I did a search, and didn't find what I was looking for, so here goes... Where can I go to find out what my swing speed is? I live in Oregon. Also, is it going to cost me money and if so, approximately how much? Thanks guys.

... they're awesome! Now, if they had the head covers that the auction said they had, I'd be a bit happier. I sent the guy a message, hopefully he won't try and stiff me. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=220444504724

I liked this little video... -
I got my first set of actual name brand golf irons coming in the mail. ebay specials: TaylorMade Burner Super Steel's 3-9, pw, aw, sw... s-90 stiff rifled shafts, nice grips... great condition. $86 shipped.

refresh the tracking on your golf clubs repeatedly, every day until they show up? This is getting frustrating. The last line just departure scan 7am 2 days ago. No way it should take this long to get here... argh, come on ups, hurry up! I have to golf tomorrow, and I don't want to use my old clubs!

Is there a way to make it so you don't subscribe to any threads after replying? Or at least so I'm not getting a ton of emails regarding threads? -
My first set of real clubs are coming to me in the mail. I can't wait! I managed to win an auction, which is amazing because they always seem to end while I'm sleeping or at work, on ebay for a set of Taylormade Super Steel Burner Irons. 3-PW, AW and SW... all under $70+s/h. $86 total. They look really nice from the pictures, can't wait to see them when they show up! TaylorMade Super Steel Irons

those adam's or Cleveland CG2

Adam's Tight Lies those are only 12 bucks for shipping. Is that a good deal? I don't know much about Adam's other than it's an up and coming company. Any opinions?

Trust me, I scour both places, and totally know how to refine searches on ebay. I've been told, due to my ability level, to stay away from blades for now... so that's all I really know about that. For some reason, I'm Titleist obssessed so I'll be checking ebay for them =P

So I might be getting a small amount of money (~$100) to spend on some used clubs soon. Maybe $200 if I wait another month. But ignoring the extra money that may or may not show up next month, does anyone have any good suggestions for finding some used clubs on ebay? Brand/models? I scour the website all the time, but I know next to nothing about the particular models. If you happen to be an ebay junkie like I am and see something that's good for a beginner (i'm still shooting mid 50's on par 36), could you post a link with recommendations? Anything you guys can tell me will help. The clubs I have right now are horrible, to the extreme. I paid $20 at a garage sale and found out they were the $65 special from Dick's. They actually hurt my hands when I hit the ball flush. There's a weird backlash shock thing going on with the cheap graphite. My neighbor checked them out and he agreed that it was probably the cheap shaft material. anyway, I'd like to find clubs with steel shafts, Regular flex is probably fine but stiff would be better as I can get the club head movin (but I'm keeping it slower now so I don't slice as much). I'm not to particular about brands but would like to find something that will last a while. so... any suggestions? Thanks a ton guys. I love this forum. I've learned quite a bit reading about rules and gear and techniques, it's awesome!

check out pinemeadow. They're a local corp. for me, and everything I've ever heard about them has been positive. -

So I purchased a pair of Adidas powerbands off of ebay last sunday. Promptly sent the payment 5min after I won. I waited until Tuesday then I emailed the seller asking for a confirmation that I won the auction, he received the payment, he was going to ship the product, etc. Not to much to ask I think. I waited until Thursday and still had not heard back from him. I then sent another email stating that if I did not hear from the seller by Friday evening I would be contacting PayPal in order to retrieve my money or something. No email from seller. I tried to issue a complaint with PayPal but they require you wait at least 7 days to issue a complaint just in case the item shows up between then. The shoes showed up today, the invoice says they came from gppgolf.com (which from reading is a good site to buy from) even though the seller name indicated no affiliation. I would really like to leave a neutral feedback as I am very upset about the lack of communication on the sellers part. Should I do this or leave a positive feedback because the items arrived in the condition they were advertised in and the amount of time the auction indicated they would. opinions?

I did come home and try and figure out for an hour or so, how I was going to get the extra money for the clubs (all my money in the bank is allocated to bills, if i spend it, a bill doesn't get paid and I overdraw). I took a bunch of my books that I dearly loved to a book store, got $20 for them and by the time I got back the clubs were gone. So I lost out on the clubs, lost my books and ended up with $20 that I'm going to just have to put in my gas tank anyway. oh, and to top it off, I got turned down for an internship too! great day all around. When I told my wife I didn't get to the clubs in time, my 4y/o gave me a hug and told me he loved me still... that was the best!

my neighbor was telling me that in the third round, he thinks, there was a guy who got disgusted and hit his ball down into the sand trap, turned around and just chipped it back up onto the green, into the hole without even setting up. anyone know anything about this? I can't find a highlight or mention of it anywhere.

I like to scour craigslist. It helps me narrow down where I want to go. You can search your city, then refine that search by county if your city spans more than one. Go to garage sales then search for golf.

Do you know how discouraging it is to go to a massive community garage sale and find stuff like older TaylorMade Burner irons w/ dynamic gold shafts for $10, a Titleist 983 driver for 20, the matching 3 and 5 woods for 15 each, a really nice sun mtn bag for 20... and have $0 to spend? the irons needed new grips as they were literally disintegrating in my hands, but geez, what a deal!

hope it's not arthritis, i'm only 30 =P I think it's just from a change in my swing and a lot of heavy lifting at work
