  1. Never hit a 7wd but I just got back from playing a round and love the Hybrid. The hybrid is shorter than my 3 or 5 wood but it is ACCURATE and straight. The way I hit FW's it is very beneficial for me to hit the hybrid even if its a few yards short it a lott better than a woods shot or topping the ball.
  2. I am hitting my driver well, but on par 5 holes I need a long club off the fairway. I can NOT hit my 3 or 5 wood so I always use my 4 iron. I just picked up an Adams 17* hybrid 3 iron, what can I expect for distance? Will the Hybrid 3 iron be close to a 3 or 5 wood as far as distance?
  3. Good info, my hand position is incorrect and I will give it a shot at the range and hope for the best. My wrist is actually bent completly forward at impact,so its about the opposite as the picture shows. Could that cause a slice?
  4. Id say higher than most. What do you mean by "cupped wrist" I was just out swinging the club and my wrist is not straight at impact, its bent forward at impact.
  5. Yes, High...if one is low it usually goes straight. They aren't pop-up shouts but they are decently high.
  6. Good to know, now I won't go out and buy an expensive stiff driver and slice worse.
  7. I have slowed it down and it still slices just as bad, it just starts the right hand turn sooner than a faster swing. Turning the club face in helped but didn't cure it,and its turned in a lot.
  8. I consistantly slice so bad I have to aim 45deg left of the target to land straight, once in a while it goes nice and straight. My question is would a stiffer shaft slice less? I have a reg flex driver that is generic (Intech) and it is a bit more flexable than my friends regular shaft Callaway driver(graphite also). I am 6 ft tall 235lbs and take a full backswing.I have never been measured for speed but I swing as hard as I can and am landing about 250 yards on my best drives(250 is the first contact with the ground, not including any bounce or roll). Do I need a stiff shaft or a quality driver? or is it a swing problem? I tried for about 2 months to take less of a swing and to slow the swing but that makes my consistancy awful and my drives corkscrew off left and don't make the womens tees that way. The only way i'm consistant is to mash the ball but I'd like to hit straight shots and not have to aim left so far.I'm almost facing the fairway straight to allow the slice to land correct. Any suggestions?
  9. Excellent advice on the 1/2 swings,I am going to try this also as I can't hit a driver good either.I know if I wasn't stubborn and just would hit an iron off the tee, my score would drop dramatically but I just can't do that. I'm going to the range and trying the 1/2 swing till I'm more comfortable then slowly increase the swing distance.
  10. Just wondering, because I got a pack of them on sale and didn't like them. I am a high handicapper but did notice a difference. I was playing Callaway warbirds and liked them a lot.The only place I noticed a real difference is on and around the greens where the warbirds seem a great bit more "clicky". Not saying that is a better thing at all it just suits the way I golf better. I just wanted to know others experience with these balls. I have played warbirds, nike power longs, nitro(junk, rocklike ball), and a few titleist that were found while looking for my ball.I like the callaways most and the Titleist were very nice also.I'm looking to settle into one specific ball to keep up consistancy around the greens, until I improve then I'll try more and see what I like.
  11. I wish there was a place around me that offered lessons, advise, and fittings but as of now I still have not heard of one or seen any signs in course club houses yet. I guess its time to ask around.
  12. I'm looking at a new driver but they have them in different numbers. Can anyone explain what the numbers are? Is it just the slope of the club face or is it an offset? I always thought it was the slope angle but one listing stated "offset".
  13. I have been golfing off and on for many years but am now hooked. I'm hoping to improve quite a bit this year as I haven't played for about 10 years now.I started at 17 and golfed for about 3 years then had an injury and stopped playing, after healing I didn't get back into it (work schedule also a problem). Now at 35 I'm at a point where I get to golf more often than 1 or 2 times a year, and am happy to be back. This seems to be a great place for tips and equipment advice,so hello to all fellow golfers.
  14. I was recently shopping for a new set of cheaper beginner irons, although I'm not a beginner I still golf like one. I ran across the Adams RPM's,Insight Xtd's and GT500s. I have read somewhere the RPMs are Extreme forgiveness and the GT 500s are forgiving but not quite as easy to hit as the RPM's. I ended up purchasing the Insight Xtd's which look identical to the RPM's in shape. I am thinking that Adams branded some clubs Insight Xtd for some suppliers(Dicks sporting goods) and RPM's for others(Dunhams Etc.). Does anyone know for sure the differences in these clubs? The sales guy at Dicks pro shop said he doesn't even list the RPM clubs in the Adams catalog but they look just like the RPM's to me.Just looking for some clarification by someone who might know.
  15. If I wasn't all over the course I might walk, but until improvement happens i'm in a cart.
  16. There is one in Mentor Ohio but I haven't been in it yet.
