  1. Erlanger, Kentucky is not far from me. I was just over in Florence yesterday. What courses do you play over there in the Bluegrass?
  2. No 3 wood in my bag either. Driver, 5 wood and 7 wood for me. The long par 5's are three shots for me anyway since I'm not the longest hitter out there. I just knock it to within 100 yards with the 5 wood and let my wedges do the rest!
  3. Hello to all. Looks like a great forum you've got here. I’m just getting back into golf seriously after about 12 years of only playing 1-2 rounds per year. I was a decent player in high school, but those days are long gone. LOL My game is very inconsistent at the moment. I can string 6-8 good shots together and make 2-3 pars in a row or even 2 pars and a birdie. BUT, then comes the dreaded 3-4 hole stretch where I can do no right and double and triple every hole. This game is so damn frustrating! I would say the strength of my game is chipping and putting. I did shoot 39 (par 33) two weeks ago on my last 9 of 27 holes I played that day. My goal is to be playing bogey golf by the end of the year. I'm close. If I can only clear those dreaded 7's and 8's off my card.
  4. I almost started this very same thread before I did a search. I seem to stay in the round mentally when I walk vs when I ride. Years ago when I really got into golf I bought an Izzo bag with carry straps with the thought that walking was better for me than riding. It also costs less and at the time being in the Navy with a wife and new baby I wanted to save $$$ but still get in a round or two a week. Now 13 years later with the addition of two more kids, I need to save all the money I can!! I still have the same bag and carry it unless my 11 yr old comes with.

    ticks

The woods in September while bowhunting can be miserable with all manner of gnats, mosquitos and ticks etc. I only know of two things which work good for ticks. Deet (repellant ingredient in OFF etc) and permanone (kills on contact & to be used on clothing only!). If we were talking mosquitos I would point you towards the ThermaCell, but it does nothing for ticks.
