  1. Oh, I absolutely 100% agree with you. I was just asking out of curiosity bc I saw a Best Buy commercial about financing, and was putting on the carpet at the same time. And I just put 2-and-2 together in my head and wondered if it existed.
  2. Titleist. I'd also have a Titleist branded girlfriend if I could.
  3. Just curious, and I don't know if I'd ever do it bc I'm not a fan of financing things. But does anyone know if there are golf stores that finance for new clubs? Kind of like how Best Buy will finance a new $800 TV, interest-free for 6 months or whatever. Golf clubs are just as expensive, if not sometimes more, than electronics, you would think that stores would have this option. And I just don't know bc I haven't asked. I've seen a couple of gimmicky-looking "finance golf clubs" websites, but didn't know if there were legitimate options, or box store (Edwin Watts?) options to do this.
  4. My next irons will be AP2's. Or if Titleist releases a new generation by the time I get enough money.
  5. Yeah, just Sharpie over the "PRACTICE" and you're good to go!
  6. LOL, love it
  7. What's the LW have to do with anything? Are you meaning your club count in your bag? Or are you teeing off with it? hah. If you're looking for better shots off the tee without your driver, I'd go with the 3W. Seems to me to be a much more versatile option. A 1-hybrid would be pretty tough to hit, especially off the ground I would think.
  8. Titleist. I'm basically sponsored by them right now. Except I have to pay for everything.
  9. That damn Happy. He made himself look like a damn fool, then he went and got me killed.
  10. It just varies on how your swing is going during your round of play. If you've practiced enough and have gotten your swing into a groove, then you don't have to think too much about swing mechanics and let your muscle memory take over. Just mentally picture a great shot as you get ready to swing. But a lot of times, playing a round for me is still practice. If i have the case of the hooks, I still think about a technique in my swing when I approach a tee shot or approach shot, just as I would if I was on the driving range.
  11. I'm thinking, "I better hit this quick, bc I'm on a side slope and my beer doesn't look sturdy leaning on the ground like that."
  12. Try not to bog yourself down with tons of swing thoughts, even on the practice range. The golf swing only lasts about 1 second, so that's estimating half a second on the backswing and half a second on the follow through. Your mind has a hard time grasping and implementing multiple concepts to your muscles in that time. Concentrate on one swing thought at a time, whether it's balance, straight take away, parallel at top. Once you've got that down, move on. Don't overwhelm yourself.
  13. PW - 48* SW - 56* LW - 60* I've toyed with the idea of a 52* gap wedge, but I can control the distance of my PW pretty well between 105 and 130. Would still grab a GW if I found a sweet deal though, just to see what happens.
  14. New groove brush, glove, and some Nike Therma-Fit golf sleeves that were on sale for the spring
  15. They looked pretty good, but I heard Mangino ate the starting line up on his way out of town.
  16. Who are you rooting for? I've noticed a few Alabama and Florida residents on the board. I'm an SEC grad myself (Mississippi State), and am about to head to the sports bar to watch the game. My girlfriend graduated from Alabama, so by default, I'm rooting for them (although I don't like either team). Plus, I would love to see Tebow lose It rules living on the west coast for these games. BEER AT NOON!
  17. Perfect, exactly what I am looking for. Thanks for the info, mdl!
  18. Probably doesn't apply to everyone, but my friend was hooking this hybrid horribly, and we figured out he was standing too far away from the ball. I guess looking down at the club, unconsciously you think you're hitting a wood, so you can really rip at it if you want to try. But once he mentally prepared himself for hitting a "long iron", he smoothed his tempo, stood very slightly closer to the ball, and went right down the middle.
  19. Never been fitted before. Where did you get it done? I've always been wary about getting fitted in golf stores bc you can't warm up properly. I would think that you'd want to get fitted after maybe hitting half a bucket of balls or so to get your swing loose, rather than starting out cold. My swing is always funky feeling before getting loose.
  20. Bc my 3-iron routinely saved me from all the trees I end up under off the tee box I can work it pretty good on punch shots. Thanks for the all suggestions, everyone. I'm gonna look into the 19* based on the feedback.
  21. Is there anything you don't like about your ball flight? Or is it just the look/feel of the top of your swing you're worried about? It's hard to tell anything from that angle (1st video). Try propping your camera up on a big stack of books or something, to emulate the sightline someone might have if they were standing up behind you. right now it's like someone's crouching down, so it's hard to tell what the top of your backswing really looks like. Or, maybe that's just me?
  22. I've played Titleist irons and driver my entire life (Callaway 3w), and am now starting to wonder if I could have scored better through my years had I used more forgiving clubs? Is it really that much of a difference? Did I learn to play golf with tougher clubs, and if I switched to more forgiving, I might score better?
  23. I've only hit a handfull of hybrids, and the majority of them were off of an astro turf pad, but I just like the way the Titleist feels. I'm a Titleist junkie though, so I'm a little biased.
  24. Definitely. It's all mental.
  25. Home Alone. Classic Christmas flick and soundtrack. Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, Elf, and the Christmas cartoons (Charlie Brown, Grinch) all round out the top 5.
