  1. while more expensive I love the bionic gloves. They last twice as long as the nike tour gloves did for me and feel much better too.
  2. I recently upgraded to X-22 tours and had the GP multi grip installed on all of them. I love the grip and have used them on other clubs for a long time. My issue is that 4 of the grips are very slippery. Not the cord but the rubber (color) section towards the bottom. What can I do? What is best to try and clean them with or, shold I just take them back to Edwin Watts and have them deal with it.. Any thoughts?
  3. Only wore two with my FJ rain gloves and it felt odd. The most I will do is run some sports tape on my right hand ring finger between the knuckles. Reminds me to grip softly and keeps the blisters if I'm playing back to back.
  4. Brush T = Gimmick IMHO Wooden tees - old faithful but hate carrying too many in my pocket. Zero Friction - Tend to bend and too thin. Stingers - hate trying to get the ball to stay on a windy day. No thanks. Epoch - Awesome. I have tee that last for several rounds without bending or breaking. Plus the mini ones are cool! Agreed on the push/pull method to minimize breaking them. Just my .02.
  5. I noticed a lot of golfers here form SE Florida (Palm Beach, Ft. Laud, Miami, etc..) and wondering what public courses are favored... I think Polo Trace in Del Ray, Deer Creek in Deerfield, and Inverrary in Lauderhill, are amongst my favorites. What are yours???
  6. agreed about the 50-52* and learning the 1/2, 3/4, etc... swings and the distance associated with them.
  7. I'm going Aug 13-25. Thank you and all the others for great advice. I'm going to look into the courses you mentioned this weekend and make a decsion.
  8. I recently bought the dry joys rain gloves and they work well when soaked. The in between stages are not very good. I would say it also depends on your grips I play GP multi. IMHO, rotating your gloves in dry conditions is probable the best bet. I play the bionic glove and it seems to take a bit longer to sweat through then many of the others.
  9. I did not take notice to the numbers the pro was just explained to me that I was in between them and either or would be fine. I carry my 7i 160 if that helps. I was told the 5.5 are close to DG S3000 stiff and the 6.0 are a bit stiffer.
  10. Recently bought a set of X-22 Tours with the Project X 6.0 shafts and GP multi grips. This was an upgrade form X-18 clones as I needed a stiffer shaft and wanted a bit more workability. I was torn between the 5.5's and 6.0 but in the end went 6.0 as I seem to continue to improve. During the fitting my swing speed, ball speed, etc was between the two and it was about feel according to the pro. On to the review. I love the look of the club as the head and top line are very appealing to the eye. They are much easier to shape left & right, and control trajectory. Miss hits are much less forgiving then the others but pure shots feel fantastic. Smaller head cuts through the rough better then previous set and the spins on pure shots is much more then the old clubs (my time too much). I've only had 3 rounds since I bought them last week and still getting used to the distance with them. The lofts are 1 degree more for 4-8i which messed my head up. Would have been better if I didn't know but carry has not been effected much. Maybe I'm over swinging harder. So far strangely enough the 4i is my favorite club. Figures I was driving like crap and missed a few too many putts resulting in a bit higher then my normal score. I'll update once I get at least 10 rounds with them and can really give feedback...
  11. Tralee @ $180 euro... &$#@ Might be a little steep for the group I'm with. Going to try and see about another links style course near Kilarney (30-40 mins) that I can get to. The recommendation have been great; Thank you all. I'm obviously geographically challenged. Does any one know a course at $100 euro or less that is near by but still links...?
  12. Thanks Vox. Time for a new rain jacket anyhow (need it for Florida too) and I have a set of the Dry joy water gloves which have been great.
  13. There is no doubt the the face was open causeing the str8 then turn right ball. Then the push stright right might be an in to out or your getting your body out in front and blocking yourself. IMO, I would check alignment, and take-a-way, Limit your back swing (don't over turn) and release through the ball. Your body turn and dropping your hands into the swing should be together. If the wrist is the culprit you can put a pen betwen your watch and glove to see if you are cupping it... Good Luck I've been there too.
  14. Agreed... Even if the swing thought is just to finish higher then normal it should keep you going through the ball...
  15. Thanks everyone. I'm working on the between distances with different swings and choking down. I have the feel shots inside of 50 and scramble well but its those 5-8 yard diffs on the approch that frustrate me. I mean I feel much better about a 12' putt then a 35 footer...
  16. Looking for some feedback on bending the lofts of my wedges to shrink the gaps... Seems strange as I'm very consistant with the irons as 4* reductions between clubs is usually 10 yards. errrrr Currently hitting: (high with a ton of spin- mant times too much) 9i - 140 PW (46*) 125 GW (52*) 105 SW (56*) 85 LW (60*) 70 Think about bending the lofts... Opinions? Suggestions? Questions: 1. Does the bedning effect the greeen side playability at all?
  17. Sweet. Thanks Diddy. I will go back for a golf only trip next year but I have to spend time with the family while I'm there this time. Tought trying to remain close to the locations we are staying at. I would love to hit Bally and Lahinch but I think the drive form where we are going to stay is too far. I think Tralee is going to be the one. Any suggestion on gear, things to bring etc...?
  18. Awesome. Thanks Vox. I'm going to look into Tralee as it is the closest and tou know the saying happy wife happy life....
  19. My cleveland 60 is 8* bounce and I play in SE Florida with tight fairway lies. I would say Texas should be similar and 8* would work. My 52 is 10* and my 56 is 14*
  20. I had off the shelve but as it turns out reg length and lie are perfect for me. The big difference was the flex. I was true temper (r) and now Project X 6.0 which is very stiff. On the launch monitor I loved the feel. I was torn between the 5.5 and the 6.0 but in the end I chose the 6 as I just keep getting better and longer with my irons. Fitting pro said that in the end the 6 would give me a bit more workability as it relates to trajectory. Playing tomorrow and then a skins game on the weekend.
  21. just got fit tonight for my new X-22 tours. Length, lie, flex, etc.. Can't wait to hit them tomorrow.
  22. I can't imagine plaing without my 60*. I dumped the 5w in foavro fo the 3h and it allowed me to carry 4 wedges.
  23. agreed. I play the CG14's and love them. Black pearl for me was the way to go.
  24. VOX, you're absolutely correct I ment SW coast. We are going South from Galway and going to stay around Killarney. How far of a ride is it from there to Doonbeg or Tralee? Any reccomendation (not too expensive) to stay..? Trying to keep the car ride from the hotel to the course reasonable as my friend and I both have the wifey's hanging out waiting... Thanks again for your help. Any tips on gear. I heard about most distance markering being measured in meters so I'll bring a rangefinder...
  25. I do not think that the shaft would cause a snap hook 90% of the time. More then likely quick at the top or another swing flaw. just my .02
