  1. I'm a high handicapper having trouble piecing together an effective swing from the loaded back swing position. I'm seeing a golf instructor, but when asked about the particular swing mechanics, for some reason, he's not very forthcoming with information. For the first time, I looked at my swing in slow motion using a full length mirror at home to reveal some of my mistakes. I'm a right handed golfer and I've noticed that when I straighten my left leg from a slightly bent knee during the forward movement, it creates resistance and effectively allows the following: 1. Lifts up and rotates my left shoulder back. 2. Lowers and rotates my right shoulder forward. 3. Lifts and rotates my left hip back. 4. helps me keep my head level, thus preventing a dip. 5. Allows my wrists to release and club head to pass through the impact area square, as long as I keep all of the connections from the shoulders on down to my fingers passive. Can someone please tell me if If I'm on the right track here? Is this something that is part of your forward swing motion? I've watched some of the pros on T.V. but their swings are so fast that it's somewhat of a blur. Thanks for any insight, regards, Mark
  2. I believe it was during the Arnold Palmer event this year in which Tiger uttered 'God damn it' and 'Shit.' Both on the same day.
  3. Aren't there many different swing styles and circumstances? For example, one plane v. two plane; punch shot, full shot, wedge shot and so on? How can anyone be sure what part of the game on which a practice golfer is working unless you've had dialog with that person? I agree with others here that unless asked, move along and mind your own business. I'm a high handicapper and have been working with a PGA instructor. He has me working on generating my full swing by way of upper leg & hip rotation (the O-factor) and letting the arms follow through on their own with little, if any, pull action from them. With all due respect and because of my curiosity, when would a golfer want to pull with their left arm? Would this occur in an swing controlled by the arms v. the legs, hips, and shoulders? Thanks
  4. I recently purchased TW '07 for the Xbox 360 and absolutely love the game. The HD graphics are very realistic and the game play is a lot of fun and requires much strategy (ie. knowing what type of shot to use in conjunction with varying approaches, lies, wind conditions etc.) There are four dificulty levels and Tour mode is rather challenging for me right now. With tour mode, you won't get the putter sight line assistance, power boost, or post shot spin control as in easier difficulty levels. I played a real life golf round last weekend and I think that I scored a better because of the stategy experience I gained playing TW '07. I'm hoping that TW '08 will include additional courses such as Augusta and Oak Hill which is close to home. All in all, I'd recommend TW'07, but it would be nice if someone else developed a competitor such as Links 07/08.
  5. How about 'Red' 'Walkinthe' 'Pissinintha' 'Bengal'
  6. I'm signed up with "Eagle Baby!"
  7. In my humble opinion, It believe that Phil so humiliated himself at Winged Foot that it appears he has taken the ultra conservative approach in order to avoid mistakes. He could also be suffering depression and lack of ambition as a result. If this is the case, he may need to seek some professional counseling to get himself out of his funk before he can get some of his edge back.
  8. Do they have any single sisters? You guys have it sooo good! My ex labels golf as the devil's game and would only let me go out once every two weeks! I made the mistake of bringing my cell phone with me the first two times. 13th hole. Ring ring. me -> Hello? wife -> Are you guys done yet? me-> No honey, we're only on the 13th hole. Maybe another hour and a half. wife-> Hurry up. Bye. 17th hole an hour later. Ring ring. me -> Hello? wife -> Aren't you guys done yet? me-> Almost. I'll be home soon. On the way home in the car half an hour later. Ring ring. me -> Hello? wife -> Where are you!?!?!? me- > I'm a minute away in the car. wife -> Jeeesh, it's about time! Can you pick me up something from Applebees take out? me-> Sure, how about a knuckle sandwich? Just kidding about the knuckle sandwich. She was such a nag and made the little amount of free time I had miserable. My dream would be to find a girlfriend like your wives! Take care, Mark
  9. Hi! Anyone here ever have an upper back pain? From about two yeards ago, I started getting this small sharp pain that feels like it is behind (inside) my left shoulder blade. It always feels tender when I push on it and have recently noticed that I walk around like I'm at address. I guess I tense up my sholder muscles to alleviate the discomfort. It's also difficult for me to hold any weight (laterally) in my left hand. Maybe this is associated to the soulder issue when leverage is in play? Maybe I'll go see the Doc. Regards, Mark
  10. I think I'll go with Ben Hogan, but with maybe a touch more of forward shoulder action. Els' swing is a smooth, powerful swing that I also admire.
  11. I love all the majors, however, I really enjoy watching the (British) Open Championship, especially when it's at St. Andrews. It seems the most challenging course style for the U.S. players, and I like watching the cream of the crop battling ahead by using their versatility of talent.
  12. I was fortunate to finally sink one in on a 158 yard par 3 with my 6 iron. It was a windy day with 20 mph cross winds, so I aimed about 10 yards right. Because I hit the ball high, the wind pushed it over about 7-8 yds to the left and then it rolled back and left the rest of the way into the cup. :)

    T.V. repeats?

I was having a great time on Labor Day spending it outdoors with the family. But I guess I missed a great come from behind victory by Tiger at the Deutsche Bank event. Does anyone here know if Monday's televised event will be replayed? Thanks
