Theres nothing to worry about, the best way to get better fast is by playing as much as possible and learning course management and etc. There are plenty of people your age that go out and play by themselves, as long as you are enjoying yourself I wouldnt worry about anything else.

my summer reading ends next tuesday, aka finals haha thermo, statics and dynamics, and quantitative analysis woohoo!

I always play from the tips for some reason but it usually depends on who Im playing with and what they want to play

I can vouch for this haha, I dont think I could walk 18 right now and be able to make any decent shots after the front 9 not to mention I would need a whole new change of clothes at the turn from the sweat.
