  1. Congrats man! I bought my irons new from amazon. I was hitting everything left and was getting frustrated. Took them in and found out they were bent up 3*. Got them put back to 0* and they are amazing now. Makes a huge difference.
  2. I recently had my clubs re-shafted and noticed today there is some black "stains" on the hosel. I can't seem to get them off with a cloth or by washing them. Is this possible burn marks from heating up the hosel to get the old shaft out??
  3. Right now, I have no fairway woods in the bag. I just use my 3h and 4h. I tried last season(my first season playing) using a 3w and 5w and the outcome was absolutely terrible. Maybe next year I will pick up a 5w and see what happens.
  4. I highly doubt the black finish affects distance. My brother has the chrome version and it tears up golf balls as well.
  5. I bought some Callaway x-20's and did not like the offset(or at least I felt there was an offset) at all. I found an older set of pro combo irons from Nike and love the way they look at address. Now it's just going to take some time to hit them :)
  6. Wow, lots of good info. I think I am going to pull the 3 and 4 iron out of the bag when I play. I will bring them with me to the range to practice. I am going to leave the 5 iron in the bag as I think I will be able to come around to it. I am trying to play smarter and to my capabilities. I can smoke a 4h shot over a 3 or 4 iron any day. That will save me strokes on the course. I might think about picking up a 4 wood as well. I had a 3 and 5 wood last season but could never hit them, that's why I got rid of them. Thanks all for the replies :)
  7. Hey guys, this is what I am thinking about going with for this season. I have a 3 and 4 hybrid, and might possibly get a 5 hybrid. I am thinking of doing the 3-5h and then starting my irons at 6-P. This is my second season playing. The long irons have always given me problems. I am just curious if there are any others with a similar setup? Thanks. Zack
  8. I bought the x-20's in the middle of last summer and tried to use them for awhile. The offset just kept messing with me, so I got rid of them and got the nike pro combo forged irons. The nike irons are probably a little to much club for my abilities, but I love the look of them at address and will work hard to hit them well.
  9. I'm a big fan of my irons :)
  10. gotchya, thanks!
  11. Ha Ha, I don't know if that response was serious or sarcastic?? I would think they should be able to do it. I'm new to golf and have never really had any experience with taking clubs in to get work done. Zack
  12. If I buy a single iron that has a graphite shaft in it, can I take it to a shop and have them put a steel shaft in it?? Thanks. Zack
  13. Ha, I had the same problem. I would line it up and then standing over the ball, the line seemed to always be pointing somewhere else. Confused the crap out of me. I just look at my line and hope to hit it in!
  14. 1. Avenged Sevenfold (fav band) 2. Killswitch Engage 3. Metallica
  15. I bought my x-20's from them. They were on sale for 400 plus 100 off, so I got them for 300. I haven't check with Callaway about the serial number but the clubs seem legit. I had no issues with golfetail at all.
  16. Here is what I have set up in my basement... Zack
  17. Np. Let us know if you picked some up and what you think about them.
  18. I remember seeing them at Dick's Sporting goods out here in Chicago. I do not know if they have that chain out by you in Tampa? Zack
  19. I have the same experiences as the others. I use them outside my house to practice. I live in a very open area so I have plenty of room to use them. You can definitely feel if you miss hit them which is kind of nice. I would pick up a set and try them out.
  20. Ok, I was going to just try and keep the glove under my right arm pit. Does it matter which arm really? Right or left? I am right handed.
  21. Ya, put a mark in my ceiling tile swinging a pitching wedge, ha ha. I only take full swings in my basement now since there is tons of room.
  22. Should the glove come out of the armpit towards the end of the swing? Or should it stay in the armpit throughout the entire swing?
  23. Cool, I will start to use this method than. Thanks for the replies.
  24. Can this be used as a training aid for every club? I am working on a few things with my swing and would like to incorporate this in as well. Thanks! Zack
  25. I think you should try to consistently play with a ball you like. I usually shoot around 95 and used to play any ball. I was playing a harder ball and it would run off the green alot. I started using the Top-Flite Gamer which has a softer feel and it helped me out a lot. So I would try and find one you like so you get used to how it plays.
