  1. Thanks for the info. I think I will hold on to it as a back up.
  2. Hello, I have been researching my putter because I am thinking about selling it and getting something else. However, I can't seem to find any information online about the putter. It was gifted to me almost ten years ago and used as my primary putter. It is a Ping Anser 2i, but has a Phoenix Open logo in the insert. Just wondering if this is just a run of the mill Anser 2i or some special edition. Pics attached. Thanks. http://picasaweb.google.com/VictoreLee/ForSale#
  3. I think people have their music turned up way to loud. I practice with music when I'm by myself, but I can still hear the ball strike. It's just some background music for me. Drowns out some of the chatter around me. When I play by myself I will also listen to music. I usually get set up with random people so I take my headphones out when I meet them and keep my music low enough so I can hear them if they ask me something. It would be embarrasing if they asked me something and I replied very loudly because my music was turned up so loud. Again, it's just some background music for me in between shots and while walking/riding.
  4. Actually, if your headphones fall out I think that means your head is moving too much. :D I listen to a pretty wide range of music. I just put set it to random and practice. Mostly just drowns out people talking and stuff.
  5. I do it all the time when I'm at the range. I just run the wire under my shirt so it doesn't get tangled when I swing.
  6. How about the Sun Mountain MPB? I recently got one and haven't had a ton of time to use it, but so far it is nice. I really like the 14 way full divider, the seperate putter holder, and plenty of storage. I tend to ride or use a push/pull car mostly.
  7. Hello, Been doing a lot of research as I need a new travel cover. I previously used a cheapy bag boy soft cover which was fine when I had my 15 year old ping irons, 10 year old callaway woods, and 10 year old bag. Well, over the past several months I've invested in new woods, irons, and bag so looking to get a nicer travel cover. I am leaning towards buying a Club Glove bag, but am wondering if my Sun Mountain MPB will fit in a Burst Proof or if I will need to get the slightly larger Last Bag. Anyone have a MPB and a Burst Proof? Thanks in advance. VEL
  8. Hello, I tried various searches, but could not find anything so hopefully some of you all can help. I am looking for a clubmaker in the Chicago area. It's actually for my brother, he will be in Chicago in October and was hoping to get his clubs fit by a reputable clubmaker. Thanks in advance. It would be helpful if we had a sticky somewhere of clubmakers various members have used and have had good experiences with. Maybe there is one and I just don't know where to look.
  9. I'm in NoVa. Right around Tyson's Corner.
  10. Hello and Welcome from a fellow VAer! I am very new to the forum as well. There is TONS of great info and some very helpful and friendly folks on here. Sorry to hear about your injury (I did the same thing long time ago playing soccer), it's always tough when that happens. I'm sure you'll be back at it in no time, just be patient and careful.
  11. this wasn't one of those life threatening instances, but the location was unique. a few weeks ago me and a friend were at a golfsmith extreme as i was in the process of getting new irons. the golfsmith extreme stores are larger and the hitting area is much larger. this one had about 8 stalls, but the last three curve around and formed an "L" shape. we were hitting on the longer portion of the "L" when a guy was trying out drivers in the last stall (end of the short section of the "L"). as my friend was hitting and i was behind him, i observed, if someone hit a hook that could hit someone on this side. well, right when i thought it i catch a ball flying right at us from the person hitting at the end. it flew past my friend and hit the divider next to him. we promptly put the irons back and left.
  12. I remember when my littler brother was that age, he would refuse to play from the reds because it's for "women." That's a good first round. More important than score at this point is to get him a good foundation. My brother is not much older (as am I ) and he's developed into a pretty good golfer.
  13. Not sure if you already made the trip to Chicago, but thought I would throw you my 2 cents (I went to school around Chicago and lived downtown for several years). I would stay away from Jackson Park (long story, but the gist is me and three buddies got held up at gun point at Jackson Park). Harbour Side is expensive, but very very nice. It's long and a lot of fun! George Dunne is one of the nicer park courses, it is tight, and will be cheaper than Harbour Side. I have not played at Cog Hill yet, so can't provide any insight there. Have fun on your trip. Oops, you already went to Chicago...where did you play?
  14. i am currently looking for new irons (i've been playing my ping eye2s for 16 years now..ha) and my leading candidate are the mizuno mp32s.
  15. no hybrids here for me. i do have a 7 wood that i will go to if i am not hitting my 3 or 4 iron well.
