  1. uttexas, can you elaborate more on your idea? i think you're on to something here because i do hit fades more easily with these irons, especially the 9 iron and 10 iron (PW). i thought the popular belief is that offset would help to reduce the tendency to slice/fade. mgresh, thanks for the link. but it only explains how offset can be measured differently. I'm not talking about the "offset numbers" on papaer, but I can physically see the short irons have goose-neck offset and the 3-iron has very minimal offset.
  2. Can someone explain what's the reason/logic behind the "reverse offset" design in irons? I just got an old Japanese ironset (Honma from mid 1990s) and the offset in shorter irons is more than the longer irons. Thanks.
  3. i have 3 sets of irons now: - Precept Tour Premium Forged - Macgregor M685 - Honma LB-606
  4. i am too a fan of face-balanced puttter. i have a Tracy and Odyssey Black Series #3 (steel face, no insert). both are face-balanced. The Odyssey is a semi-mallet but it feels great.
  5. i've used the F50 model 3W for quite some time (the model before F60, but i think they are very similar). it's a very nice club. nice feeling and sound. and pretty long too. too bad i'm not very consistent hitting it off the fairway (it's the golfer not the club).
  6. i have a Mizuno F-50 7-wood. it's one of the best feeling woods i have hit. very nice feeling and sound at impact. but i hit it only around 5 yards longer than my 3-iron or 4-hybrid. i prefer the hybrid over the 7-wood and 3-iron for more consistency.
  7. i have the 60* MD with C-grind and i love it! the weight/balance is perfect and the spin is excellent. make sure you wear the groove a bit with range balls coz the MD grooves will eat your ball (even on half swings).
  8. Pitch shots from 20-110 yards. I'm also practicing my chipping.
  9. Thanks Pat. I used to carry Driver, 3w, 5w, 4h. but i couldn't hit my 3w from fairway consistently.. i very seldom need a 3W off the tee thanks to my forgiving driver. so i decided to take it out of the bag and add a GW. i miss the greens a lot, and the 4 wedges help me with more choices (loft and bounce).
