  1. I'm thinking about selling my AP1s and buying either the 710 CBs or Ping S57s. Which set of irons would you buy?

    Cart girls?

I play several courses in Alabama that have pretty cart girls but my favorite course has a old woman and a not so pretty young cart girl. This course has a junior college close by so I know they could hire prettier cart girls if they tried . Am I being a dirty old man again?
  3. I have the AP1s and wish I had bought the AP2s. I think after a few rounds you will wish you had bought all AP2s.
  4. I stocked up on TP Reds and Blacks last year. I bought about 12 boxes that were on sale. I had to hide them from my son because he thinks my garage is his own sporting goods store.
  5. I think 80% is having the correct shaft.
  6. I stopped by Edwin Watts and picked up a pair of Adidas Tour360 4.0s. They feel pretty good walking around in the den.
  7. I've had two back surgeries so I know how important tempo is.
  8. I accidentally hit my partners ball Thursday. That will teach him to switch to a TP Red in the middle of the round and not tell me. He was playing a ProV1 earlier. I hit his ball and was waiting on him to hit and he was just standing there looking at my ball with a funny look on his face. We were only about 5 yards apart on a par five so we laughed about it and he hit my ball. I made sure to look for my mark the rest of the round.
  9. I have bought and put up so many TP Reds and Blacks that I will be using them next year too. I have several sleeves of Prov1s so I will be using them when I play on hard greens next summer. I find a lot of ProV1s while playing so I take them home and put them in my bucket of Clorox water and add them to my collection.
  10. We are having A LOT of rain in North Alabama right now so I didn't play today. I'll hit them Thursday if the rain stops. Like I said, My PW is 45* so I have 3*- 48* ,4*- 52*, 4* difference down to my 56* sand wedge. I'm going to play with them and see what I keep.
  11. I have several dozen of both the Reds and Blacks. I try to use the Reds on wet or soft greens because they don't spin quite as much as the Blacks. They both are soft and will spin but the Blacks are a little better on harder greens. I can't wait to play the Blacks with my new Vokey wedges. I guess I haven't noticed any difference with my driver. Glad you're happy with the TMs!
  12. I have the AP1s and they do produce a HIGH ball flight. I play ok with them but I'm looking for another set for next year. I'll probably go with the Ping i15s or a set of the new Mizunos.
  13. Vokey Spin Milled 48* and 52* I'm playing a AP1 45* PW , 48* and 52* Vokey , and a 56* Cleveland CG14. I'm removing my AP1 W 50* and my 60* CG14. I was going to only get the 52* but I picked up the 48* and my wife said if I could chip one into the cup from the frenge of the practice green she would buy me the 48*. She gave me three tries and I am now the proud owner of a 48* and a 52* Vokey!
  14. My AP1 PW is 45* and my W is 50*. I'm thinking about buying a 52* Vokey and that will give me 45* 50* 52* and 56*. I'll take out my 60*
  15. I don't know if you were joking abut putting your clubs in the front seat with you but I think that would be dangerous. If you have a accident while driving those clubs could cause some serious injuries. I would let them ride in the trunk or in the back if you buy a SUV. I hope you have a great trip and keep us updated from time to time. GOOD LUCK!
  16. I guess I can only dream of playing on a lavish course like the ones you all have mentioned. I'm a retired railroad conductor and my wife is a retired school teacher so I play regular courses around my area of the state. I've been invited to go on a five day golf trip to Myrtle Beach so I guess I could find a nice course up there to play.
  17. I had two back surgeries in 2000 and sold my Pings because I didn't think I would ever play again. I bought the AP1s last year and I'm now playing at a 12 handicap. They are very forgiving and have a buttery feel when you hit them in the sweet spot. They are good clubs.
  18. When I find a wedge on the green I always put it in the basket behind the seat. I never put it in my bag. I don't want anyone to accuse me of trying to steal a golf club.
  19. I'm wanting a new set of irons and have my eyes on the Mizuno MP-62s. How good of a ball striker do you have to be to play the MP-62s? I am playing in the low 80s and am close to breaking 80 in the near future so I'm wanting a forged set of clubs. I don't want to revert back to playing in the high 80s to 90s. For you guys that play with Mizunos help me decide what to do. Thanks: 6iron.
  20. Congratulations! I jumped on the "Cameron Train" a few weeks ago. I have the Kombi mallet with a 35" shaft. The red line really helps my 50 year old eyes get the ball rolling toward the cup. I'm making putts that I don't think I can make. My confidence is building every round.
  21. Is there a big difference in these two brand of wedges. I have the Clevelands but I'm always looking for a excuse to change clubes.
  22. I'm trying to remember to use one more club and take a smooth 3/4 swing. It helps keep me out of trouble. I've beeg hitting everything left with my irons lately so I'm slowing my swing down. I'm also exaggerating my follow through hoping it will help me hit more greens in regulation.
  23. Most of the guys that I play with play "Ready Golf" out of the fairways. We putt in order of closest to the hole. We play "Ready Golf" off of the tee also unless someone makes a birdie or eagle. We just enjoy being together and talking trash!
  24. My wife just give me the ok to buy a new Titleist driver. I'm not familiar with who the different models are made for. I know I need a stiff shaft but the head is what I'm confused about. I'm almost 50 years old but I can drive a ball 300 yards. I need a forgiving head so the ball lands where I want it to. . Is Titleist coming out with a new driver in the near future? If they are I'll wait and buy the newest model. Thanks for any advice that will help me decide.
