Mizuno JPX-800 Hosel Cap(?) Coming Loose...
Ash1974 replied to voidmain26's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Were they bent by Mizuno at time of build or did you buy them off the shelf standard and then have them bent? If it was done after build, then it is possible bending them may have loosened the ferrule (that's what it is called) if it comes out completely then just pop a bit of glue or resin under it and stick it back down, the shaft is glued to the head separately from the ferrule. -
I currently play MP53 4-PW with a Nike Sumo 21 Hybrid (3 iron) When I had my last clubs (MP52s) I played 3-PW but still carried the 3H as although it offered the same distance it had a much higher ball flight so was great for dropping on the green, clearing trees etc. I used the 3 iron off the tee though and for lower ball flight as needed (wind, fairway runout etc) I am for the long irons though, in fact I hit my 4 iron more than my hybrid and 3 wood these days, so my next purchase may well be a MP53 3 Iron :) I will probably then drop the hybrid.

I am undecided after watching this. The idea is good and it made for good viewing golf wise, what I did not like was the on course and in studio commentary, each 3 ball had an on course with them and John Hawksworth in the studio, this ended up with them all talking over each other and almost made me mute the audio as it was at times painful, so this needs sorting out. On the subject of John Hawksworth I think he was trying to be too funny and kept going over the top about "THIS IS POWERPLAY GOLF YEAH" and at one point he said "rub me down with a wet daily mail" over how good a shot was????

I heard it on the radio this morning on the way to golf, very sad news indeed and made the 18 I played today kinda numb. I remember as a young kid my dad talking to people he was giving lessons too saying "like Seve does" one of my youngest memories. I just spoke to my father and he is beside him self, 70 years old and never heard him sound so sad, shows the impact that Seve had on so many people. A legend that will live on for ever, R.I.P

And you thought the R11 looked different? Ha

That just made me spit water all over my keyboard, man that thang is fugly. -
Cheers, can you explain what you mean by "more tilt to the left" I agree though, I noticed the head movement from the videos and also that my arms go saggy at the end of the swing.

Cheers guys for your replies

Following on from my lesson last night, and from my thread http://thesandtrap.com/forum/thread/44898/thinking-of-dropping-my-woods-carry-only-irons-and-driver Here are some videos from that session. This is my first time hitting balls with the new swing so I need to practice what I have changed so far... Head back on centre line (to far forward) my hands were to close to body so they are further out under my chin, also worked on taking the head of the club away (as in low to the ground) to widen the swing, weight shift correction, all of this due to getting into a very bad habit, reverse pivot! 4 Iron Swing Hybrid Swing 4 Iron Stills from 1st video Top of backswing Half way down Impact (looks the same position as setup other than head has dropped) Sorry about the darkness but the bays are enclosed. Please give me some feedback guys

Not aware that I listed any distances? if I did they would be in yards anyway, but your right I have just started to (when I hit decent shots) hit greens in 2 with longer irons and the birdy's were starting to come. I had a lesson last night, got my head back on centre line (to far forward) my hands were to close to body so they are further out under my chin, also worked on taking the head of the club away (as in low to the ground) to widen the swing, this lead to the weight shift happening naturally, weakened left hand grip and the results were very good for one lesson. Quite a major swing change, but for the better as I could really get through the ball to a strong finish I hit my hybrid during the lesson as well and it was the best hit club of the lesson, so I will be leaving the 3 wood at home but taking that out this Sunday. I will report back after that round, gonna chill on it though and use it as a practice round

Cheers dude, I will be all over these threads today

Cheers guys, don't get me wrong I know I have swing issues that are causing this and I don't blame the clubs, I think I have a reverse pivot that I need to work on big time (weight shifting) so until I sort this out I am dropping the clubs I am having the biggest issue with. I will carry either a 3 wood or hybrid again, but not for now On the reverse pivot I have all the symptoms, snap hooks, low pulls, tops and low shanks (even creaping into the irons when my head goes) I also hit the ball high and have pain in lower right back (from sliding hips instead of rotating) so going to get looked at by a Pro to confirm this before working on the weight shift.

I have had a terrible couple of days with my woods recently, leading to pressure on my irons and game = terrible up and down scoring. I have never felt comfortable with my 3 wood and hybrid as no matter what model/setup I have owned I hit them great once in a while but terrible most of the time. My driver has been on/off recently so I have been forced into using the 3 wood and hybrid off the tee with results that are worse than a loose drive, at least a loose drive is still 200ish but just in the rough (with the odd OOB) the 3 wood and hybrid are tops, pulls with 99% of them not making it 100 yards and never in the short stuff So I am gonna drop the 3 wood and hybrid and just carry driver and irons (3-PW + 2 Wedges) My 3 and 4 irons have been getting more solid off the tee and I am using them more on shorter par 4's OR easy to miss fairways. Was wondering if anyone else does this? I am going to give it a go and I am also going to start carrying again, as I am finding the hassle of the trolley just not suiting me at the moment.

Yeah it is a shame about his profile in Germany, it was said on Sky Sports Golf that he could walk down the main street in Berlin and hardly no one would know who he is. That will change over time I am sure, the more wins he has.

Mizuno MP-T10 Wedge - Custom Paint

The Nail Varnish/Polish my wife uses is Rimmel and is Enamel, so just the same as the Testors model paint. -
Mizuno MP-T10 Wedge - Custom Paint
Ash1974 replied to Ash1974's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Will do man, I used the same blue varnish on my old Ping Tour-W soles and that was still on them after 3 months of use over winter when I sold them, two weeks ago. -
Mizuno MP-T10 Wedge - Custom Paint
Ash1974 replied to Ash1974's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Cheers, it is so easy to do. I used Nitromor All Purpose Paint & Varnish Remover and Cotton buds (Q Tips) to get all the paint fill out, rinsed them and then did the Blue on the sole and Mizuno text using the Navy Blue nail varnish, the brush that comes with the nail varnish is great and if you just put enough to paint fill don't worry about getting on the face of the club around the lettering, I just gave it a quick blow and then with flat tissue used some nail varnish remover to remove the excess varnish. I then repeated this process about 3 times allowing to dry after each clean down. Then did the same with White Nail Varnish -
Mizuno MP-T10 Wedge - Custom Paint
Ash1974 replied to Ash1974's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Cheers it is a Navy Blue Nail Polish, almost looks like a purple blue in the bottle but comes out real nice over the silver -
Could not agree more, what a bunch of clowns. K. J. Choi gamed Ping G15's at last years Masters, he even uses these for his 52 & 56, guess they would call him a cheat?

Mizuno MP-T10 Wedge - Custom Paint
Ash1974 replied to Ash1974's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Yeah me neither, but it was only on the log and number on the sole, both clubs have been used in quite hard bunkers as well (due to weather in UK) so that may have contributed, still I like them better than the black/red/white colours they came in. -
After only two rounds the paint fill on the soles of both my MP-T10 wedges was starting to flake off, so I figured I would strip them and then custom paint fill them in blue and white. This is the end result, what you think?
