PHILLIES! Very nice of them to send the Dodgers out of philly with a beatdown. Cant wait for the World Series. I'm really jealous of the season ticket holder! I went to a couple phils games this year and got to enjoy some Tony Luke's cheesesteaks during the game... they are ridiculous! I wish I could've gone to more games although the games I saw were during the series we got swept by the ORIOLES so I wanted to die.

Well you have to think about who you want to invite and get a bunch of people (I would guess family members in this case) to help you run it. Talk to the pro at the course and tell them you are interested in setting up a tournament. A lot of tournaments go to charity which is always nice. Set up some flyers and sign up information and see how it turns out. Hopefully you can get a bunch of friends and coworkers at least so that anyone else is just extra and you have a good time regardless at least for the first time since you will be a little unsure about the turnout and whatnot. Some of my friends set up a tournament at our course at school for a classmate that died in a car accident. The money goes toward a scholarship in her name. Remember about hole sponsors and selling ladies tees and mulligans. Also I know its not gonna be real competitive for the most part but its a good idea to have people tending the holes to cash in ladies tees and mulligans and to spot cheaters.

Have you hit the New AP1s? They might change your mind.

See this is a tricky situation because you said his shot looked decent. So he had no reason to play your ball bc his was a loss before anyone noticed. BUT maybe he did realize his was a wash and hit yours. HOWEVER, but the fact that he looked at his ball oddly beside the green, it seems like he didnt mean to but must have realized he hit your ball after the fact as well and was left with a couple options. 1) He could have either said, "AH CRAP I hit your ball, sorry man I really thought it was mine." This would have made him look like a total ass. But would have been the honest thing to do. OR 2) He could have did what he did and played it cool and just swapped his ball out before anyone noticed. He does this in order to save himself the embarrassment as well as to just continue the game without any confrontations. Did he do the wrong thing? I don't think so, he just didnt want to look like an idiot and didnt want you/the others to think less of him. Seems like an honest mistake based solely upon you saying the way he looked at the ball beside the green got your attention. BUT I think you need to discuss with your playing partners what ball you are playing. I always do this and I have never had an issue. "Hey guys I'm playing a Taylormade 1, what are you guys using?" Is usually good enough at the beginning of a round or whenever you meet up. That way I can be proactive and not only prevent myself from playing other peoples' balls but put the thought in their mind to check the ball before they hit it.

I was there one night and went after midnight which was a big mistake... As I'm leaving the store with my roommate these 3 guys drive into the space beside my car and roll the windows down and I figure we are gonna get stabbed, they looked like military types. I've learned not to turn your back to people since they are less likely to try something. I face them and say "whats up?" They ask if we have any pills? I say nope sorry man. They ask if we'd like to buy some. I say sorry not into that. Then they ask if we knew where to get some, and again we say nah. So they drive off, no harm done. But lets just say I was a drug dealer. Would I trust 3 guys with shaved heads rolling up in a car asking me to buy drugs? They could have weapons in the car and no one on earth would trust that situation. Luckily I had my Kahr 9mm on me so I played it cool since I'm surgical with that thing, but people these days... at WALMART

Agreed. Why not give breaks to people who obey the law, don't have 10 kids with 10 different dads/moms, and graduate with doctorates... oh wait because those people don't need/want breaks that would cost the rest of our country money. I love how the budget deficit has tripled or more, bailouts went to everyone, yet my taxes are gonna be ridiculous and the unemployment line is only getting longer. The bailouts and stimuli clearly did little more than ruin my generation's chances of ever getting social security/medicare and the criminals and cheats are the ones who get the "breaks" I can tell you first hand I see MANY patients at the clinics/pharmacies I work at that have medicaid (the free everything healthcare for poor people) that drive Escalades and Mercedes Benz and they fill up our emergency rooms with people who can go for free and just want a pain pill to abuse or narcotic cough syrup to sip on. If you don't believe me you haven't worked in an ER. We had one person the other day saying he's not leaving until we give him a Percocet prescription. Its sad but I guess there is no way to root out the abusers from the people who legitimately just want some health care but cant afford it. The real poor people dont even have medicaid or wont accept it, its a shame... Thats my view, its just a sad world we live in! No democrat or republican or independent could fix the way things are and the greed everyone has been engulfed by.

Another boring ALCS game tonight... A-roid showing his homosexual side with the fist clench on Jeter's rear was WAY OVER THE LINE but I guess theyre like that. This world series is gonna be awesome! Phillies have the league series locked up as do the Yankees. Will be good to see two teams that can hit the baseball and have good pitching as well!

I feel like cobra irons are underplayed. I swung the S2s and they are pretty nice, but were a little too pricey for me at the time. You really NEVER see cobras at the range/course, at least I have yet to so far. My question is, who plays these irons (besides Villegas, I mean play style)? They don't seem to make any irons that really directly compete with anyone else, just kinda expensive cavity backs which is why I wonder why someone would buy them.

Correct serial number=authentic?
Supermanwoot replied to kleraudio's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I hope that kills your doubts man! Take it easy on those mizzys, I'm glad they treated you right. -
I like both of these drivers! I almost bought the FT-9 because it looks sweet, but I hit the SQ 20 yds farther on the golf sim so I went with that. And my roommate has the 909 D, not D3 (not sure what the difference is) but I borrowed it on a few holes before I had the SQ and it felt nice, ball seemed to jump off it and gave rewarding feedback.

Walter Hagen T3 Club Set review!
Supermanwoot replied to JSwiney10's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
maybe his last set was a gift or borrowed but yeah I thought that too. I went to golf galaxy last night at 8pm and they were closed (website said 10am-9pm unless otherwise posted, well go figure I must go to the one store that closes at 8pm). So I ended up at Dicks. They had a big selection and better prices. I left with a new putter that was $30 less than the same one at golf galaxy. You definitely don't need good clubs to play poorly. A friend of mine just bought a brand new Mizuno set of irons for $800 and was dead set on a Titleist driver because some employee at Golf Galaxy said he thought they made the best drivers. So he spent $300 on that and $150 on a wood, but at least picked up a cheap putter. This guy couldn't break 150 if his life depended on it. I even indefinitely lent him my old set of clubs which are really nice for a beginner set. Hell, I bought new irons and they shaved ZERO strokes off my game (slingshots suck btw). Only thing that changed me was new driver gave me a prayer to hit it, hybrids took 50 strokes off my game, and practice/lessons did all the rest and I'm still not good. But I think if I bought a scotty cameron I'd be a 5 hcp -
longer club = more club speed.

80 is a good round for a 10.5 handicap especially on a course you're not use to. I don't think you should feel too bad about your putting, maybe you were being too aggressive or conservative (one or the other). I know if I play a different course where the greens are faster, missed putts really get away from me if I cant gauge the distance right. but wtf you hit a 58 degree 100 yards!!
-
Its like starting over every day for me. I tell my partner oh I straighted out my driver big time, oh I dont hook my irons anymore. Then I get to the range and I'm topping everything and push-slicing it into the woods (yes the woods on the range). Then after a bucket and a half I'm hitting driver long and straight and irons are right on the pin. AND THEN when I get to the first tee box I forget everything and anything could happen, but its rarely good.

Nike Ignite 460 Driver Question
Supermanwoot replied to TempoIsKey's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I got Diamana Stiff shafts in my hybrids and driver, couldn't be happier! -
I think the point is that if you lets say hit a 3-iron well only 10% of the time then either get a hyrbid or ditch the 3-iron. I carry a 3-hybrid and ditched the 3-iron, also dont have a 5-wood because I hit the 3-hybrid the same distance basically so really no point when if anything i hit the hybrid more consistently. But if you are getting rid of clubs that you use often and can hit well then thats a mistake. I lost my 8-iron on an old set of clubs and that would hurt me on a few holes and I'd make bad shots, that right there told me that having all the clubs really helps.
-
I usually say, "Yeah I know" and then just keep doing my thing. Today I got to the range and was pushing and slicing EVERYTHING. Was so frustrated. After the first bucket I was pin seeking w/ irons, ripping the driver, and putting my wedges close. Most of the time its just something you gotta work out on your own so I just ignore those people because once I get my swing grooved its smooth sailing.

a good friend of mine had someone GIVE him MP-32s and he plays MP-33s... so I should ask him how much

PHILLIESSSSSS!!!! WOW WHAT A GAME! Rollins with a huge clutch hit at the end off a 99mph fastball, sent it into the gap and 2 scored to win the game in the bottom of the 9th, that was amazing.

Lets not forget about Pearl Harbor now... JK Why not try the new AP1 and AP2s? The AP1s are ridiculously nice! edit: If the Miz is the biz then get them! Hit them some more, maybe they fit your swing just right!

Holy crap that game earlier... the Dodgers might as well have not even shown up. That was a blowout if I've ever seen one. If the phils can keep the bats going like that then the Dodgers are in big trouble. Blanton vs Wolf tomorrow at 8, cant wait!

Burner Plus vs. 09 Burner
Supermanwoot replied to Chicago Lefty's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
What I did was buy my irons last. First I got a driver (I was uninformed and I think I made a bad choice but I can't hit it well for my life atm), then I got hybrids. Now the 3&5 hyrbids REALLY changed my game. I can hit the ball 200-210 with the 3 hybrid which is a huge plus since my driving was struggling. That leaves par 5s reachable in 3 even after a sub 200yd drive. before the hybrids it was a hackfest for me trying to get to the green on a par 5 in less than 5 strokes considering I couldnt hit anything longer than a 6 iron with good accuracy. I too was struggling badly with the long irons. The Sasquatch hybrids are amazing. Every single person who has hit mine is always blown away. They are forgiving, accurate, and long. They are the best clubs in my bag by a long shot. When I bought the slingshot irons w/ stiff shafts I lost 15-20yds per iron. I used to hit irons really long (ie: my 2 buddies are using 6 iron on a certain par 3 and I'm hitting an 8 or 9) but now I'm in the same range as them. Take a look at the SQ hybrids, they are ridiculously nice and I'm not sure how you could ever be sorry about buying one/two/or three. As far as irons go, I think the best iron for the 20+ handicap is the Taylormade r7s . They are in the price range I like, they are RIDICULOUSLY high sellers, and they really feel smooth. I was between those (r7s), slingshots, and callaway x18s or x20s, and I think I made the wrong choice. Try those out, or if you got the cash, the new R9s are in stores now as well.
