  1. LOL sounds like me. On one of the easiest holes of the course I hit my 54 wedge about 200 yards into the woods from 40 yards out. My partner could not stop laughing as I took the 2 stroke penalty to end the day.
  2. Ha yeah I didn't like them so much, got a lot of bad kicks but maybe that was just my luck that day. I also HATE the FJ Sci-flex gloves you got. I get no grip with them and can go through one in 1 to 2 rounds of golf on a hot day. Went through 2 sci-flexes then switched to a similarly priced nike glove and have been using that for 5 rounds straight holding up fine. The one thing the sci-flexes have is breathability. But that did NOTHING when it got hot out, just soaked their fake leather to the point where it lost all grip on my clubs...
  3. I stopped keeping score after about 5 holes just because me and my partner kept losing our balls that were less than 5 feet off the fairway in this thick rough. I started out the round with a save for double bogey after hitting the ball to the 2nd teebox. It wasn't good, but for the record I've played 54 holes (36 walked) in the past 2 days and I literally feel cripled, I cant turn my body any more. I'm addicted to gold and trying to break into the 80s, I'm not sure if I can take a break for as long as I need.
  4. Yeah as you play more and more in tournament play you'll get more comfortable. Also just get comfortable in your swing and put that swing on the ball each time, even if its not a perfect shot it wont be a duff.
  5. Same here, when I attack the ball I make better shots. When I am hesitant I chunk the ball.
  6. so you have to host the HTML file on your own webhost right? I figured it just uploaded them to a central database. The manual just says it exports the scorecards to HTML.
  7. ha funny you should ask, my partner today was wearing them and told me "If you ever need a comfy golf shoe these are great." I have 2 pairs of shoes but my current pair made the back of my ankle bleed throughout most of my 2nd round, either that or walking just took its toll and I need higher socks. Not sure I really want to fork up the cash for new nikes though...
  8. I suggest Nike PD Soft (the green box). They fly nice, yet feel great around the green and on approach shots. They go for around ~$17 a box which you cant hate either. No reason to spend more with what this ball gives you. I tried out the Titleist DT roll today and hated it. I had no control it would just keep rolling, usually off the fairway and then I'd lose it in rough about 4 feet off the fairway because I think I'm going blind. The callaway hex balls are great, but a little pricey. Bridgestone e6 is pretty nice too and in that price range. I dont play these regularly but was impressed when I did one round. Those are my recommendations, I dont spend too much on balls because its just like throwing a $20 bill in the water hazard for me.
  9. I really get down on myself when I'm alone. I hit one bad shot and I really beat myself up about it.
  10. Oh gotcha, yeah I mean we do that occasionally in casual play, but I could see how in competitive play that could be a round changer. Never actually knew it was against the rules, just figured it was frowned upon. Today it was raining so I got lots of free reads based on the lines the balls made on the greens
  11. How do I get my rounds exported online?
  12. Are you sure you're not referring to the famous cheating caddy, Douche McBaggins?
  13. Yeah do you mean standing behind the hole to show them where to putt to, or standing behind the putter as they putt towards the opposite direction. If its the latter I'm not sure how that could be a rule but the first one is assisting the other guy in picking a line and although I do it all the time in casual play with my buddies, if someone called me on it I would stop.
  14. Ha i hear that, I walked 36 today. What a mistake. But it was raining and everything, yet it was still 80ish out here.
  15. Most college teams are Europeans with anti-handicaps. I was talking to one guy the other day and he was saying that his visa had expired but he can stay if he continues playing professional golf. Not a bad gig, I said. He said he had just finished a round and shot 67. Flip the 6 upside down and you get my score, i told him. If you get on the team though, I would imagine that would be a great way to improve your game they are ALWAYS practicing when I'm at the club.
  16. congrats man! I leave mine on the driving range before every round lol
  17. I voted conservative. At my level of play I am very prone to making mistakes. No reason to try to make a difficult shot and end up using up 3 strokes when I could just take 2 and lay up. Now of course I cant say this all the time because there are times you have to go for it. If I duff my driver off the tee for a 75 yrd worm burner then you can bet I'm going after the green to at least try to save par. It varies. If I'm on the fairway 230+ out, I probably wont try to hit a 3 wood to the green, but if I hit a couple bad balls and I'm still 230 out I have nothing to lose at this point, but that usually leaves me with a frosty snowman following the hole.
  18. For a lot of people, including myself, the driver can be my best club or worst enemy depending on how I hit it. Some times I hit an insane drive and other times I hit a house. The 3wood strategy helps me but honestly I never do it because its not as fun as hitting a monster drive and I can murder drives on the driving range, but in the actual round I'm very inconsistent. But sometimes you gotta let the big dog eat!
  19. My bag got heavy so I put it in my car after the turn and played the entire back with just a 7-iron. LOL I wish. Some times you just gotta kick back and let the big dog eat!
  20. Are you a PGM major at NC State? I'm located about 40min south of raleigh now but I am looking for a place to live next year thats close to both a golf course and wakemed or rex healthcare since I'll be working there. The NC State course I hear is pretty new, will definitely have to hit that one up one day!
  21. thats me. I am dominating balls with the driver on the range then I cant hit it straight for my life on the course.
  22. how do you feel about me cleaning it with a steel brush or will I just completely ruin the club?
  23. I'm both. Used to be a walker, then started playing with some guys who only want to cart, but now playing with a new guy who only likes to walk and when I'm alone I always walk since its "free." But if someone wants to cart I usually put up the money for it. I mean even now its freak 85+ and humid as hell so I sweat like crazy and get terrible club-grip while walking but it saves money. Cant wait for it to cool down. I can also say I'm definitely in better shape from walking 18 three times a week. edit: Oh I hate my bag btw. Its ridiculous. Its kinda heavy BUT it tilts so that if I'm walking over especially bumpy ground the clubs will begin to slide out. This really pisses me off!!!!
  24. They were always 150 yds up and I was walking, they were carting, it was hot out. Best option wouldve been to hit into them when they were in the woods scavenging for one of their 6 balls they were playing and then I'd be on the green before they even got out of the woods. Then of course they'd realize i jumped ahead when they saw me 4-putting ahead of them.
  25. So I got a hold of this vokey and its rusted to hell and back. I hear they use raw steel or some nonsense so rusting is normal but it looks pretty bad to be honest. I was gonna sell it to a friend but is it really supposed to be like this or is the club just crap?
