  1. Hi I am currently looking at purchasing a range finder in the UK. I am just deciding if it is really necessary to get one with slope or not? Does slope really affect distance that much? There is a par 3 at my home course that is 167 with a relatively high elevated tee. Ive no idea exactly how high but I would say its probably 80 to 100 feet up. I would normally hit a 6 iron to 170 but here its only 1 club less for me, a 7 iron. There's only a few extreme circumstances like this on my course the others are uphill which I would struggle to guess more but I just take an extra club normally and hope to get it somewhere near the middle of the green just. Is the slope even going to be accurate on the range finder as well because I imagine a lot of it is to do with trajectory, so perhaps it could actually hinder club and shot selection? If I have iron shots that are coming down steeper surely it would barely make a difference on downhill shots but more so uphill shots etc? Has anyone here really benefited or been surprised much from there slope mode vs no slope? Thanks I don't play in competitions at the minute but would like to soon, I also don't play other courses at the minute but would like to do a "tour" at some point.
  2. Thanks, I just went ahead and ordered them in the matching s+. Il put them in and take it from there, if theres any gapping issues il do what you suggest and bend lofts, my pw is 47 so ideally my 52 should probably be 51.
  3. If the ball is sitting nicely in a fairway bunker you have no choice but to pick it clean to get maximum yardage to reach the pin. If you try and pick it clean and hit it a fraction heavy the ball will go no where. If its sitting down you have no choice but to "dig it out". Greenside bunkers - Its far easier and far more consistent to splash them out with the sand using the bounce by hitting behind the ball about an inch or 2. It allows for a much bigger margin of error than trying to chip it clean from the bunker. If you splash it out and hit a cm fat (from your intended 1 to 2 inches behind the ball) you will still get a good result. if you try to chip it clean and hit it 1cm fat it will likely stay in the bunker. This all depends on the sand as well. wet hard compacted sand you will likely try pick it of anyway. Thick soft deep sand its better to splash it out.
  4. Hi I currently have a kbs 610 s+ in my sm7 56 and want to reshaft my sm7 60 and sm7 52 with the 610 as well. A few months ago I first tried a kbs tour s 120 in my spare old sm2 spin milled 52 and although it feels nice it just spins far too much and feels on the borderline of not being stable enough which I don't want. I want drop and stop or small release ideally. So I ordered the Kbs 610 in 125 s+ and put it in my 56, I couldn't get the 120 s at the time. The s+ feels perfect on half, 3 quarter swings etc but when on full swings it feels just a smidgen "meaty" at times. I am pretty sure this is due to me rushing the transition at times (a quicker aggressive swing, a problem I have) and messing up my timing however it could be too stiff but at the same time I feel the extra weight (or stiffness) helps to keep me in check and be more mindful not to rush from the top. My SS is 80mph on full shots with a wedge and is pretty much the same even with the lighter kbs 120 in my 52 so I don't think the extra 5 grams is losing speed or distance that I've noticed compared to a stock 56. The s+ clubhead feels very stable throughout the swing and I feel more balanced throughout which I like compared to the slightly lighter kbs tour 120 in my old 52 at the minute. So should I go ahead and order the 610 in s+ or s for the 52 knowing that its mainly going to be used for full swings and longer low pitch hop and stops? I'm just worried that the s wont be quite as stable, spin too much, balanced or the dispersion quite as tight as the s+ but then the lighter weight would be closer to my irons and make a nice transition into the heavier 56 and 60 shafts? If I do go s+ i'm worried that the extra meatiness might lose some distance even though it doesn't appear to in my 56. I'm definitely going to order the s+ for the 60 because its really only used for partial swings. Has anyone tried both for comparisons? I suppose I could order the s+ and if it doesn't work out try the kbs tour again but in my sm7 52, might not spin as much, or just sell the shaft and order the s? Thanks, I cant play golf atm due to covid 19 so trying to get everything perfect with regrips etc for when the course re opens
  5. Hi does anyone know of a product or way to get old drivers circa 2000s to fit interchangeable shafts ie.with modern titleist adapters. I have a lot of nice drivers like r500, nike ignite, r7 super quad etc. I would really like to be able to just fit my 910 /913surefit titleist driver shafts in them so I can use them properly.I imagine there is some sort of product that I can epoxy onto the driver hosels that would then accept my titleist shafts? I cant seem to find anything online. I know I can get the titleist surefit thing but I imagine that will only go into 910 drivers and up that have the hole through the bottom of the drivers, glued drivers dont have that hole? I have some demo mizuno 6 irons and they have an interchangeable system on the head for different shafts so I know something exists. Thanks. I'm in the UK so products arent jumping out at me on ebay.
