  1. All of their designs are very forgiving. If you tend to miss on the toe side and those shots end up short and right. The KE4 Max or the KE4Tour+ will greatly improve those misses. The design philosophy of all the Maltby clubs is center of gravity below the ball centerline and the clubs horizontal center in the center of the club face. Most Callaway clubs are designed the to the same basic idea. The Golfworks customer service staff usually does a good job of answering questions.
  2. Greatgolfer, not great winner. His agents created the world rankings to overcome his choking dog sundays. Even when he shot the low round of the day on Sunday in the Open he choked away the playoff. Two shots up with one to play he didn't even complete the final hole. I won't even mention 1996 . Back to the actual post, really enjoyed watching the 75 final round. When the broadcast picked up, 9 of the top ten were major champions. The other guy was some fellow named Tom Watson who I believe won the Masters twice as well as a few other major championships.
  3. He was a master of marketing without winning
  4. Yes I have watched several of them over the years. 75 is a favorite.
  5. Love that Augusta National has put the final rounds online. Sated my tournament prep with the 95 final round. Some things that pop out. The player’s sponsors , Hogan, Tommy Armour, Lynx, Maxfli, Ashworth, Buick, GTE. Davis Love III using a persimmon driver had a 9 iron from 165 on 15 and a 105 sand wedge in 17. Norman on 15 had a 180 yard 7 iron. Ben Wright described it as “hopeful “ . They both made 4 on 15 to tie Crenshaw at the top.
  6. I grew up in a house that was a pull hook from the 17th tee. We didn’t get hit often but maybe once a year. On the other side of the course #2 ran along a busy road and the club usually paid for damaged cars. Since the club was there first it does seem like a case of inherit risk. However that can be overruled by the requirement to keep balls n the course.
  7. As PXG Parsons said, you can’t make a ball better than the ProV1. So average for a urethane ball is better than most of us playing average golf courses can take advantage of so why not practice our Scottish brogue? 🤣
  8. The new ACE ball is made by LaunchTec. Shocking enough the evil empire of golf terminated the 25 plus year contract with Nassau with no notice and no communication about the existing orders. Callaway made what appears to be a, well if you can’t find anyone else we will fit you in offer. The balls are open stock so they don’t break any new ground but perform as one would expect of urethane balls.
  9. I wasn’t aware Penfold has closed up. They have been operating continuously from what I have read. I ordered balls from the UK website long before they opened up a US operation.
  10. More confused by the comment, as far as I know Penfold simply outsources ball manufacturing to Nassau. Kind of like every club company outsources every component of their clubs.
  11. So MacGregor, Ram and how many others are shams?
  12. They have expanded their lineup with a four piece urethane ball. Penfold Ace — PENFOLD GOLF USA The Penfold Ace - a ball that changed the game and used by legends of the game like Gary...
  13. Frankly it’s a good value at $35/dozen and it does what it is supposed to do. For me it goes as far as the PV1 and has similar short game spin. I tend to play a lot of knock down shots into greens and it stops as I expect from a urethane ball. Other than that it’s the cool factor, who doesn’t want to play James Bond’s golf ball? My step son, who kinda looks like Goldfinger, didn’t find it amusing when I handed him an old Slazenger on the first tee. 🤣

  15. Which shaft? I’ve thought about doing that with the MPF shaft. My adventures with lightweight steel have been less than successful
  16. I’m playing a Penfold Hearts Penfold Heart — PENFOLD GOLF USA The NEW Penfold Heart ♥️ (One Dozen) Penfold Heart (Red) has been an icon in golf history...
  17. What shafts are in the clubs and do you plan to switch to a different shaft? Do you know the tip size? If not remove a grip and tape. There should be a code there. If for instance you have a .355 Dynamic Gold S300 shaft, it’s unlikely the swing weight will change with a new shaft unless the grip is way off.
  18. In a golf market where people happily drop 3-500$ on a putter which is unlikely to lower their scores much if at all, the Infinite line is a hell of a value. I like the Grant Park myself.
  19. I’ve been saying that, there are two reasons to get a customer to try your product and give up an established competitor, value or performance. Given the rules, performance isn’t really an option so value has to be created.
  20. I’ll wait until they make them in yellow.
  21. Holy crap that’s even worse than my issues, I just can’t swing a golf club
  22. The Maltby M890 shaft is a good choice for slower swing speeds and is only $18. The STi2 with the MPF shaft is available at a ridiculous low price but the MPF generally plays a bit stiff to flex. The Graphite Design GTech is also a good choice as is the Kuro Kage. If you call them the CS people can direct you, the website is being updated, the club pak and custom shop are not back up yet.
  23. Don’t know about this brand in particular but when Wilson had a line of copper faced putters the ball rocketed off the face.
  24. There is no better club on a cost basis than the STi2. When healthy I play to an honest 12 mostly because I putt like a blind man in the dark and several guys I have played with who are better than I am use those. I swing the KE4 Tour+ because it’s easier to swing weight and a bit more stable on toe shots. Their current line up is outstanding with the new KE4 Max being the newest hit. I haven’t tried it yet but it has almost universally good reviews.
  25. I had a set of Titleist graphite head woods with these shafts in the mid - late 80’s. They didn’t stay around long, weaker to flex than dynamic and less high launching than dynalite, I think TT Lite replaced them. I found them to be much weaker than dynamic.
