  1. If I were you I'd pick up the 3 wood first - A good 3 wood is cheaper, you can get a solid used model for very cheap at most golf shops. -Whenever I find myself struggling off the tee I always go back to my 3 wood to regain that confidence. - The 3-wood can be used both off the tee and the fairway with relative ease. I'd recomend you try and find a model with some offset as well, might help as a beginner Other people might suggest the driver but thats just my two cents, good luck
  2. I used to fly my elbow alot, for practice I used to hit a bunch of shots at the range while trying to keep a headcover pinned under my armpit, helped me get the feeling of not flying it.
  3. I have about 5 bags in the basement right now, a ping, a titliest, an datrek/ izzo, an ogio, and a nike cart bag. The titliest actually does have an insulated cooler pouch but in my opinion its so small its kinda useless, its also somewhat heavy but it does have great storage. The ping is one of the super light kinds, wicked light but not enough storage for my liking. Its held up pretty well over the years, the straps are starting to show the foam underneath but its seen more then its fair share of rounds. The datrek/ izzo is a nice bag, pretty light decent amount of storage nice blend of weight and storage. Plus its a Budweiser bag which is a plus for me. The ogio was my favorite unfortunately the strap broke this season and its been assigned to spare club duty. Loved the club organizer on the top, woods down the side, irons to the right and putter pit up top. The storage was awesome and had great features like a water bottle holder, scorecard and pencil holder, ball holders, it has like 11 pockets and isnt too heavy considering all the functionality. I just wish it didn't break b/c I've had reservations about buying another one of their bags since...
  4. Just an fyi when you sign up your handicap defaults to 36 unless you change it......
  5. I'm not sure if any of you read Bill Simmons on EPSN's Page 2 but he wrote a great article where he played the new TW 07 with Tiger for a bit, very interesting article. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2...simmons/061012 Enjoy
  6. I just spoke with a Cleveland Rep today he said Cleveland will do the modifications for free, I just need to pay shipping to them and they'll handle the rest. He said the only catch is it needs to be sent in by a Cleveland Authorized Seller, so most any golf shop. With you only bending it 1° you might be able to find a clubmaker that will handle it.
  7. Yea I figured I might give it a shot over the winter, I'd like to get into clubmaking so I figure this might be a decent project for me. Also I'd be doing it to the Center Shafted version of the 2 ball forgot to mention that, I'm waiting on Odyssey or UST to tell me which fits the putter the .355 or .370. Thanks for the response.
  8. Has anyone tried the new UST Frequency Filtered Putter Shaft, I was wondering if this thing actually works, for $58 it should put the ball in the hole for you. Anyways they say it improves feedback from the putter face which would be nice. I copied the link to the product page from golfsmith below. On a side note does anyone know the shaft specs for the Odyssey 2 Ball Putters http://www.golfsmith.com/products/5905
  9. I just picked up a used combo set of MP-60 / MP-32 with the project x shafts in 5.5, 2 degrees strong. Paid 650 for them on ebay. I was a bit nervous at first as to whether or not I would be able to hit them and the small clubhead can be intimidating. After 6 rounds or so I can say they are staying in the bag, I'm actually hitting more greens (my last clubs had too weak of a flex). To the people who are interested in getting them I would highly recommend the clubs, the only thing is I can't hit the 3 iron for the life of me (the clubs are 2 degrees strong) but other then that I love them. The shaft and head combo really provide good feedback on my swing whether good or bad which I think is very helpful to improving your game. As for wedges I'm a Cleveland guy, no changing that......
  10. I was asking one of my friends how much his golf shop charged to bend the wedges and when he found out it was my CG10 I wanted bent he suggested that I either contact Cleveland and have them do it or get it done at one of their tour vans. His reasoning was that the techs at his shop don't do it because of the materials used that they break easier when being bent.....I don't know the validity of this claim but I sent an email to my local Cleveland rep just to be safe. I'll let you know the reponse I get. In regards to your original question I don't believe it makes a difference to whether you bend up or down.
  11. I was thinking of having one of my wedges (CG 10 56 Degree 1 dot) Bent down to 54 Degrees...How much of an effect on bounce does this have on the club? Thanks
