  1. S2 forged irons are beautiful and much more clean looking
  2. and his monotone outfits make me want to puke. Take a lesson from guys like Tiger and dress with some style and class
  3. where are all these "core exercises" when it comes to getting rid of his love handles and man-boobs? He looks like such a fat slob in those 2-sizes-too-small shirts he wears...even my 60 year old mother in law refers to him as "gay boy". Not saying I endorse that nickname...just saying
  4. is it just me or did 90% of people who responded to this thread miss the fact that the old women showed HORRIBLE etiquette in not letting the people behind them play through? Correct me if I'm wrong, but if they had not been totally clueless as to what was going on around them and let the faster golfers play through, the entire confrontation would not have occurred in the first place. And then to run up to the tee to tee off after the boys had played through and they had been playing slow as molasses up until that point? I have absolutely no problem with women golfers - my wife and mother in law are both very good women golfers and I enjoy playing with them very much - but i do have a problem with horrible golfers who are also clueless and hold up the entire course, whether they be men or women. More often than not, this tends to happen with either large groups of women or elderly people...that's just the way it is. On the other hand, there is no excuse for shouting obscenities at anyone, especially your elders. I definitely agree that both parties were in the wrong, however this entire situation could have been avoided had the older, more mature golfers involved showed a little course awareness and politeness. P.S. for those who say that OP should have ASKED to play through, it seems from his post that he's insinuating that the women made this impossible by not waiting at the next tee for the boys to get there. It's hard to ask someone to play through when they are already 80 yards down the fairway...but maybe it's just me.
  5. I grew up on the Monterey Bay so needless to say I was beyond stoked when I heard that the US Open was coming back to Pebble. My dad is a high school principle in the area and has lived and worked in the area his whole life, so needless to say he knows people. Long story short he got me and my wife free passes to park and take a luxury shuttle to Peter Hay and watch day 3 of the US Open. This will be my first live major tournament ever. Any suggestions on how to tackle the day and maybe who are the more mind blowing players to watch in person that I definitely need to catch? Thanks in advance!
  6. sorry, just realized this is in the wrong thread...moving it

  8. yeah my main point was that the technology in that thing is over 2 years old and he is still playing it...they definitely did everything right with this club
  9. EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW different looking for sure definitely agree that scratch irons are gorgeous
  10. As stated in another thread, imo there is not a better 3 wood on the market than the Nike Sasquatch2. Tiger still plays them and they are something like 3 years old...it will be a very sad day when I have to get rid of mine.
  11. I'd actually love to hit the new Superfast TP...it's pretty cool looking and the original superfast was a nice driver itself
  12. Havent hit the SuperTri yet, but I did hit the VR and really liked it. I'm finding myself gravitating towards drivers that dont have obnoxiously huge oversized heads (or dont appear to at least). My current driver head is like that, seems very low profile - and that's what I loved about the new VR driver. The head has a shape that is pleasing to the eye and looks more classic than some other drivers out there nowadays. The feel of the club itself was very nice. I found that the stiff shaft probably felt a bit stiffer than the stiff shaft in my current driver...and the sound off the face is great, not an obnoxious aluminum bat-type PINNNGGGGG that you got from some of the past Nike drivers. TaylorMade is great too (currently playing one of their drivers) but I was not a huge fan of this year's R9s when I hit them. Nike has a winner here i think.
  13. this is probably one of the most useless threads i've seen on this site. You cannot comment on a ball because of 1 or 2 that you found on your local course. The Penta is one of the best balls, if not THE best ball out there right now. Stop staring at it and f*^%ing hit it already!
  14. Yes I do, hence why I am looking for a gap wedge. At this point my next wedge after my 43 degree pitching wedge is my 53 degree sand wedge. I constantly find myself on holes where I have to half swing with my pitching wedge (43 degree) because I can not get enough out of my 53 degree to get it to the green. I would love to have a nice gap wedge in between where I can just step up and make a nice smooth swing and hit these tweener greens consistently.
  15. Hey guys. I'm looking for a 47 or 48 degree wedge to fit between my 43 and 53 degrees. Does anyone have any experience with/opinions on the new Ping Tour-W wedges? thanks in advance
  16. Those Nike SQ Sasquatch fairway woods are VERY underrated in my opinion. I have one and I love the way it plays and the way it looks at adress. Got to be a reason Tiger still plays with them when they are 2-3 years old right?
  17. thanks guys this is really helpful info...I do realize that I need to get a loft that is a good gap in between my PW and SW, and I do like the idea of replacing my 56 degree with a 54 as the 56 is about 6 years old at this point and probably has crappy grooves. My main point was how much should I compensate with a lower loft if I buy a Cleveland wedge due to the idea that they dont go as far as lofts from other companies? I guess the best way to figure that out is to go to the range and hit it until I get a good idea of the distance. Any other recommendations as far as companies that make quality wedges?
  18. Hi all. I'm currently on the market looking for a gap wedge to fit in between my pitching wedge (48 degree I believe) and my 56 degree wedge. My 56 and 60 degree wedges are both Clevelands, so this is obviously what I am used to. I have heard great things about the CG15, and actually hit one a few times and liked the way they feel. A buddy of mine informed me that if I get a cleveland I should aim more for a 50 degree rather than a 52 degree because "clevelands tend to spin more and dont go as far as the same loft from other clubs". Does anyone have any thoughts on: #1 aforementioned the loft issue, and #2 what wedges you would recommend I try out and consider buying? I am aware of the obvious popular choices out there nowadays such as cleveland, vokey, etc, but are there any other under the radar type companies that make great wedges that you would recommend? Thanks so much in advance for any help
  19. the Taylormade R7 Limited is the absolute best driver you can buy for the money. Hands down the best value in golf today if you can find one. I got one from golfsmith when they were still selling them a few months ago. There are lots of them selling on eBay these days for around $130-140 which is an absolute STEAL (I got mine for $199 and it's the best money I've ever spent on my golf game).
  20. I agree Snowman! I've had mine since Christmas time and I love love love these irons. I hit them literally side by side with the Titleist AP2s while I was researching a new set and could not feel or see a bit of difference between the two other than the $200 increase in the price of the AP2s. I strongly advise anyone in the market for a new set of irons to give these a shot. They look slick as hell and they feel like pure butter when you hit them. Hit them side by side with another set of irons like I did and I think you will be pleasantly surprise.
  21. Read a review of this driver by a reputable equipment review site today. They gave it the best rating they have ever given a driver. Anyone have any experience with this driver as far as hitting/playing it? I really like the classic look of the club. Thinking of giving it a shot at my local pro shop but dont want to drive all that way to hit a subpar club. Thoughts?
  22. How did you hit all of those hybrids and manage to not hit the Cobra Bafflers? Those clubs, epecially the new models, are GREAT. Very consistent and easy to hit. Dont have to try to kill it, just swing easy and let the club head do the work. I also hit the TaylorMade Rescue (19 degree I think) at the shop the other day and was very pleased with that club.
  23. Hit the Mach at the local shop the other day. I used to have the Nike Sumo Sq2. I was very impressed by the less obnoxious head on the mach. Very much more subtle than the previous Nike square headed driver. I also liked the way the club felt when I hit it. One thing I was disappointed in, however, was that it seems Nike has not managed to get rid of the old "aluminum baseball bat" sound that was present in the Sumo Sq2. It's not quite as loud with the Mach, but it's definitely still there. Other than that I felt like it was a very nice club.
  24. 100% the best driver I have ever owned. From the moment I first took it out to the range I noticed that my drives were much straighter and more consistent. I also very much enjoy the smaller head on this driver compared to the 460cc monsters out there today, I think it makes the club much easier to swing. Having that smaller head, you do have to hit the ball more consistently, but I have not noticed that I have had to change my swing in the least to hit this driver. At $199 there is no doubt in my mind that this is one of the best golf investments that I have made to date. I'm thinking about picking up another to set aside just in case!
  25. anyone watching the golf tourney this weekend notice the gut on Chris Couch? That thing is world class!!!
