  1. This is a fair point, and frankly one I had not thought of. But I think you will have a hard time proving this bill is necessary and proper when it limits liberty that is guaranteed by the constitution and the lack of health insurance does not prevent life. The people have done that and yet they still press on. Again: Something needs to be done, but this idea is a bad idea according to most of America. I will also say that I love the fact that we can discuss something like this without it degenerating into name calling and rudeness. Props to everyone involved.
  2. Totally agree. I hope he is able to figure it out and see if he can do it next year, but right now he isn't getting it done. Still.....I'd love to be able to shoot 79-71. Heck, I'd take 89-81....99-91!
  3. There are a lot of great looking sets, but the best looking set I have ever played are my current KZG Forged III's.
  4. I am in agreement that our current system is broken and some change has to be made. But I do not agree that what is being offered is the right solution. Something to prevent insurance companies from denying on pre-existing conditions? I am for that, depending on how it is written. Allowing people to buy insurance across state lines? Same as above. I know one state (Minnesota?) has a non-profit system. I think that should be seriously investigated. I just have a problem with a government program that will force you to have insurance with the threat of a large fine or jail time if you don't. I am against having to pay for a citizen to pay for their own/families insurance and have to pay for someone who doesn't want to work for their own. I do have sympathy for those who want it, work hard, and can't afford it. But I don't think they are the government's responsibility. That is the job of private organizations who would be able to do that if we weren't taxed like we are. My dad, under the current legislation, has a Cadillac Plan. Why? Because of a pre-existing condition that forces him to have less coverage than me at 3 times the cost. So he will continue to have that and have to pay a tax for having that plan? This is fair? We agree something has to be done, but the wrong thing will make it worse. That is what I believe this plan is.
  5. Do you really think many of the high end pros really use the equipment of their sponsors? Sure some of them do, but it is customized far beyond what you and I can buy...even if you go to the manufacturer and are fit by them. But I would say just as many play, for example, Miura and have their sponsor stamped onto the iron. Look at the irons Fred Couples plays. Then compare them to what Bridgestone sells and what Miura offers. I am not saying all OEM stuff is crap, but I do agree that the unknown is almost always superior. Even if the heads are equal, putting the right shaft and spineing(sp?) the shaft will help out a lot.
  6. I have a uPro and have used it many times. I find it to be very accurate as I compared it to the GPS in the golf carts. It is easy to use and has helped with a great deal.
  7. That's from a movie, right? R. Lee Ermey said it?
  8. Very similar to my experience when I got fitted. It was great and I love the new equipment.
  9. Yep. I hate to hear Shanks' story but I can believe it. Especially if it was a small town like I live in. I worked in Connecticut at a camp for a summer. People didn't believe I was from Texas because I didn't sound like a redneck. I was also asked by a dead serious kid if I rode a horse to school. I also had people marvel at my truck because I had Texas tags....I didn't get the fascination, but whatever.
  10. That's a good point Moe. It is 7400 yards from the TIPS, meaning if every hole was played to its maximum distance it measures 7400. No course anywhere does that. I consistently see on cold and/or windy days many tees moved up an entire tee box, let alone the front of its regular box.
  11. I live 5 blocks from my fire station and watched them burn down a house 2 blocks from the station. The fire stared in an engine compartment and was confined to the car when they showed up. I know if my house catches fire I just have to tell them where the gun safe is, cause that's all they will be able to save! As a fire investigator that travels around the state I get to see a lot of fire department's work. It is amazing how some of these little all volunteer departments do better jobs than big cities. They may be there in 5 minutes or less, but that doesn't mean anything will be left of your house when they are done. I worked a fire where the response time for the first engine was 4 minutes, but upon arrival they did nothing until a Battalion Chief showed up 10 minutes later. After he got there to assume command the first line was pulled in an effort to fight the fire. Just because the government offers something, it doesn't mean it works or is effective.
  12. I have a 33" San Saba that is 2* flat. The fitting process was very cool and I got to choose how I wanted the hosel bent. It was all done right in front of me. My previous best was 38 putts. The two rounds with the putter is 33 and 35. Do it. You won't regret it.
  13. I think I heard something on the broadcast about Kaymer moving to 6th place. New Top 25 1 Tiger Woods, USA 2 Phil Mickelson, USA 3 Steve Stricker, USA 4 Lee Westwood, Eng 5 Jim Furyk, USA 6 Martin Kaymer, Deu 7 Padraig Harrington, Irl 8 Henrik Stenson, Swe 9 Paul Casey, Eng 10 Ian Poulter, Eng 11 Rory McIlroy, Nir
  14. They need to bring that back even just for a year...so I can get a copy! The problem is that on this route you can't beat Tiger in your first round on the game and people want that instant gratification.
  15. Great, thanks. I had decided that I couldn't see it either because A) I am not established yet, or B) I had the required rep.
  16. OK thanks. I know I haven't hit the 30 days yet. I also went to my control panel but don't see a link to check my rep. Am I just blind? Where exactly is it? Thanks.
  17. Out of curiosity, what is considered an 'established member'?
  18. I played in the wind on Friday. My 18* hybrid was 175 into the wind and 230-240 with the wind. Considering I think I should get 205-210 out of I was extremely pleased. The funny thing is I wasn't that effected by the wind. It was my poor wedge came that did me in...cost me probably 10 strokes and I shot 108.
  19. 1. KZG - 188 & 22* U Iron and 5-PW Forged III 2 - Adams a7 combo set
  20. I would love that. I'd also like to see all the tourney stops even if you don't have the actual courses on the game. It won't happen, but how cool would it be to play either one year of amateur events with an invite or two to play on the bug tour. Then, as you suggest, go to Q school and be flighted into one of the tours. Would also be cool to have sponsorships come back like in early editions.
  21. Is this a nationwide thing or a California thing? Some of the people you mention I understand printing and filing, but not all. It is interesting that this many people have prints on file.
  22. Something else that I haven't seen mentioned is the fingerprint scenes. Unless you have a criminal record or a Concealed Handgun License (or whatever your state calls it) you will NOT have your fingerprints on file. Sure your thumb print may be taken for your drivers license, but that's it. The laser girl and caddy had records, but I don't remember anyone else they ID'ed having one.
  23. Obviously I didn't live during it, but I remember learning about the Great Depression in school. I was taught that people were ashamed to take aid and stand in soup lines. This and the next generation are the generations that fought in and won WW II. Today people find ways to get ON welfare, stay there, and increase the amount of money they get from the government! As a fire investigator it really bugs me to go to a burnt Section 8 (and other low rent housing) that burned and the tenant does not have to pay rent and has no insurance but DOES have MULTIPLE big screen TV's, a new $30K car, satellite, and other luxuries. All while NOT WORKING AND PAYING FOR IT WITH WORKING PEOPLE'S TAX DOLLARS! Then they look to sue the owner of the house because they don't have insurance and someone OWES them money to replace the stuff they bought with other people's money. And a lot of times the tenant is the reason the fire happened in the first place! I will get off the soap box now.
  24. The suspension of reality is fine. I see it as a drama that a lot of people like, and that it fine. There are several movies that I think are great that are so ridiculous it is unreal. I know it is fake so I don't get bent about their methodology in the show. What I do care about, however is the standard of this and similar shows being looked for in a court of law. Seen that before and still think its funny.
  25. I watched and was reminded of why I can't stand these type of shows. Some of the crap they use in their analysis simply doesn't exist. And if it does exist it is either too expensive for nearly any law enforcement agency or takes much longer to do than is presented in the show. I know that it is a fictional TV show, but the sad part is that there are people on the street that should be in jail because jurors think that these shows are real and use what they see as the basis for what the prosecution should present to them in the court. I have more Hot Sports Opinions about this, but this isn't the proper forum for it.
