Day 4 - Practiced at the NKGC range and practice green today: Range: Warmed up with wedge shots, followed by 6H, 9W, 4W and Driver. For the 4W and Driver, I foot sprayed the face to work on face strike. For each club, picked boundaries to represent expected dispersion (wider for driver and progressively narrower to 6H). Practice green: Practiced pitch shots of 5 to 20 yards (LW from fringe and SW from rough) to various pins, putting out some of the longer ones. Then did ladder drills with the LW from the fringe first progressively longer followed by progressively shorter shots. Practiced long lag putts (my putting distance control needs work).

My number in 2023 is 6.2 (last 5 is 9) and for 2022 holes/3 putt was 9.5. I had a rough putting start in 2023, but as you can see from the number for last 5 am getting back to where I was last year.

Day 1 - Practiced at North Kingstown. Practice green: worked on lag putting, putts from 9-12', chipping from various locations and putting out. Range: pitches, sand shots, alternating 3w off tee with 7i or gap wedge, never hitting same club 2x in a row. All in all good session.

Day 13 - Spent an hour on the Trackman Target Practice range at my local Golf Galaxy today. Worked on approach shots from 50 to 150 yards and pitch shots from 20 to 50. For the shorter shots (specifically 29 and 45) I hit three different clubs to each target to get a feel for the technique and see how the ball reacted on the green. All-in-all time well spent.

Yes; owned and run by the same outfit back in the day (around 2000) now ownership has separated. I like Pinecrest a lot and will probably play there again next week. Day 3 - Practice driver swings in the yard today, based on a Danny Maude video. Careful setup; backswing: imagine turning far enough to look at the tree behind me; downswing: imagine I was doing the hammer throw. All of this seemed to keep me in good positions thru finish. Addendum to Day 1: I having a classic "senior moment" I mentioned playing at Crestwood (an actual, but private course in my area) whereas I actually played a Pinecrest, a nice public course not far from URI. @boogielicious - Remind me to tell you why the clubhouses here and at Rose Hill look alike.

Short Game Chef (Parker McLachlin) Short Game Videos
Bob M replied to iacas's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I have seen these videos previously, as well as a bunch of his others, and have been focusing on developing the stock pitch and need to do more work on bunker shots, which is a weak area for me. Frankly, at my handicap level neither the Flop or the Low Spinner are "go to" shots for me anyways, but I have tried both. I find Parker's explanations clear and easy to follow...and execute. Also really liked some of the other content on TGJ.- 8 replies
