Is this the only SG category where performance on other shots can skew the meaning in that way? For example, does BDC's tour leading SG/Driving reduce his potential to gain strokes on approach shots?
I read somewhere that many tour players can swing harder than they do during competitions because the loss in accuracy is not worth it. If that is not true then it does change things.
What does it mean to say that she is better though? Of course she is - she has an easier time getting better and therefore with a similar level of talent should be.
Of course they are but does that really matter? You can't say a golfer now is better than a golfer with a similar resume (adjusted for field strength) from 1970 because the golfer now is a "better athlete."
So the best athletes now are comparable to the best athletes then (at least relatively) and the difference comes from how much less of a competitive advantage being an elite athlete is now than it used to be?
How do you account for the advantages those players today have in achieving their levels of athleticism? A player from 1975 does not have the last 40+ years of research on training and nutrition, the means to access the knowledge that does exist nearly as easily, or even the same baseline appreciation for the importance of fitness in golf performance.
Oh that explains why BK specifically said what he did. That is not really the most self-aware justification for slow play on BDC's part either. I think he needs a better publicity manager.
That is something. I thought I remember you saying the AW is sold as part of the iron set? I don't even understand how it somehow is separate from the rest of the irons.
At least the ones you do have are working out though. Always good to know you made the right purchase, even if you can't fully enjoy it yet. 😒
It's not the same thing to directly wish someone plays poorly as it is to say things hoping to annoy them into playing poorly. One is not at all in the spirit of friendly competition and the other is fine up to a certain limit. Fans do have a tendency to take it past that limit of course.
Four games for that hit feels a little weak. Seems clear from the video that Sheifele had no real chance to actually prevent the goal with the hit and that he was angling for the hit rather than a play on the puck anyways. NHL better hope the series doesn't go to Game 6.
I mean this should be done completely independent of whether or not they choose to callously coopt national pride for marketing.
Yeah you are correct. Very wealthy individuals are a tiny element of the population.
I can see a unifying theory to the reasons you listed.
This perfectly illustrates why I don't mind mishitting drives on par 4s. I find it really fun trying to salvage the hole and hitting clubs I would not normally use. Driver-wedge gets very boring after a while.
Loved the edit note.
