  2. I actually went back and had two other pros check the results, both came up with 3* upright & no extra length. I then went to the person who knows my swing best and discussed the results. What we decided is over the long winter the only practice I've had is putting inside. I putt with a more upright posture and my hands held quite high at address. I had carried this setup to the irons when I got fitted causing me to stand too upright and roll my wrists going back coming over the top in the downswing causing a toe down effect. I hit a few into the net dropping my hands down into their normal position at address and got back to my normal swing. We adjusted a 6 iron to .75* upright and went outside in the cold for some real life ballflight. The moral of the story is I ordered standard length, .75* upright and now have complete confidence. If doubt creeps in - check & recheck until you are sure. Make sure you bring your normal swing to the fitting!
  3. I believe the Super Tri came with the Motore 60 & the Super Tri TP came with the Motore 65
  4. I could do it with Ping, Titleist, TM, Mizuno, and probably Adams. The thing is, I wouldn't do it with any of them! Right now I have Titleist woods & hybrid along with Ping irons, Titleist wedges and a Nike putter in the main bag. TM woods and hybrid, Ping irons & wedges, and a SC putter in the back up bag. It would be hard to find what works best for me in every catagory out of one manufacturer.
  5. I have the 002 at 33" and find it to be everything my SC is with a quicker roll. Easy to align & good distance control with a very smooth roll. I will rotate with my SC Fastback 1.5 this year, but the 002 will be the starter.
  6. I have putters from one end to the other. It all comes down to which one feels right, gives you confidence, and puts the ball in the hole. My favorite two putters are on oppisite ends of the price spectrum.
  7. I've gone to driver, 4 wood, 3 hybrid at the top of my set and it has worked out extremely well.
  8. I had a very enlightning iron fitting experience. I had not had a complete Ping iron fitting in a good number of years. About me: 5'10", 165 lbs, and have loss some of my speed, distance and raised my hdcp in recent years, playing i15 irons right now. Iron game is my strength with my miss being a pull. I was playing between a 12 & a 14 at my home course last year. Went to a certified fitter I've dealt with for ten years with the idea of trying the S56 Pings. We talked for a while about my observations regarding my game last year and then did a quick static fitting that put me in the same black standard as I've always played. Then came the launch moniter, lie board, impact tape, and adjustments. After a couple hours I came away with the following: My pulls, when they creep in are from over active hands. I'm letting the clubhead get slightly in front of my hands at impact - work on trapping the ball like I used to. 3* upright & +1/2" was recommended. Although I can play regular or stiff shafts, stiff shafts are a better fit. The KBS Tour shaft is as smooth a shaft as I can remember hitting with incredible feel. Go figure, in my wildest dreams I would not have come up with this combination but once decided we went back and forth up and down the lie angles with the added 1/2" and it always balanced out at these specs. I can understand the upright lie angle even though it goes against my misses. I'm sure we discussed it but I can't figure out why we are adding the 1/2"??? As is normal, doubts are creeping in as I prepare to order this set. Any input would be appreciated!
  9. I'm playing the X20 Tours in 5.0 and have speed and distances the same as yours. The 5.0 is perfect. Long and accurate. I've played forged for the last two years and the feel of the Tours is very pleasent. I can cut and draw the ball mildly with the Tours but they do like to go straight. My miss has always been a pull and that has dissappeared with these clubs. Perfect from the first round. No complaints at all.
  10. While it is correct that a heavier weight head is needed on a shorter shaft to maintain swingweight, the majority of manufacturers in the world are not manufacturing different weight heads when they offer multiple lengths. Because swingweight in a putter is an uninteresting number it comes down to personal preference as to what feels right to the individual. Scotty Cameron does indeed make different weight heads to create different length putters but he is the exception not the rule. While Scotty Cameron putters tend to run in the D6 swingweight as the norm it is not to say that C4 is not what I putt the best with. A putter is the most personal of clubs and what works for one may not work for another.
  11. Wood, 2 3/4" Stinger tees. A box of 500 lasts for a long time!
  12. thegpsstore.com $12.95 Look under accessories for the Magellan Explorist series. The Explorist series & the SG3/SG4 are the same box.
  13. That makes sense to me. Numbers never lie!
  14. No, swingweight does affect feel. I'm just saying it is not a nessecarily a negative affect. I would definately try it on a putter you're not worried about first. Cutting two inches off a 35" putter just happens to result in a feel I am very comfortable with. Anyone elses mileage may vary! My question would be if a clubfitter added weight down the shaft or in the form of a tip pin to a putter to compensate wouldn't it affect the face balance of the putter?
  15. Putter swingweight will go down 6 points per inch. That being said, swingweight in a putter is a variable that is only personal in importance. I like a 33" putter. I also prefer a putter that is 33" cut down from 35". The weight is perfect for me. Example: My studio stainless came at 35" back in October. I took it out a couple times and both line and distance was terrible. Cut it to 33" and took it out yesterday for the first time. It was deadly from all distances. I've done this to enough putters that I no longer get concerned about ruining them. Give one a try! You may be very surprised.
  16. Although my driver is 10.5* I have always carried only a 3 wood as my only other wood. My next club is a 4 hybrid. As a good transition I have gone to a 16.5* R7 ST 4 wood and couldn't be happier. Better for all around turf conditions (shallow face) than the 15* and still strong off the tee when needed.
