  1. wow, now you've had some PING experience. i haven't had the chance to swing the Ansers yet but they look amazing. if they feel half as good as they look, i can definitely see myself getting those clubs. i also imagine they're the most similar to my 735's and my game. thanks for the feedback.
  2. i couldn't agree more. this is the first year i actually preferred watching the round online instead of tv. the round was so much more in depth, more caddy/player interaction as well as player/player interaction. very cool.
  3. thanks for including your G10 info. i just threw some sets out there, please feel free to include any sets and any info. thanks. i think my friend was using G2 a few years ago. i only swung them a couple of times but from what i remember, they seemed to swing themselves once you got them started. i like that in the low irons but i like to have playability/feel in my hi irons.
  4. so from what i can tell PING is doing down in these series of clubs? i.e. s58, s57, s56...oldest to newest. i haven't seen the s58 but that sounds like exactly what i'm looking for....very similar to my 735.cm. thanks for the info. your 2 iron sounds awesome but i'm more of a hybrid player. ever use a PING hybrid?
  5. thanks for including your G10 info. i just threw some sets out there, please feel free to include any sets and any info. thanks. i think my friend was using G2 a few years ago. i only swung them a couple of times but from what i remember, they seemed to swing themselves once you got them started. i like that in the low irons but i like to have playability/feel in my hi irons.
  6. i'm thinking about switching to PING clubs next season. i recently had a chance to swing the s57, 7 iron, and it felt very good. i've been playing Titleist 735.cm for the last few years, so i'm familiar with the forged feel, player's club. they have the split iron set, so the 8,9,PW are blades. i saw this year PING came out with the Anser iron set which seems similar to my 735.cm set. so...what do you like/dislike about your PINGs? would you suggest the G15, K15, s56, s57, Anser? and why. I have also never been fitted, have you been fitted for PING and how was your experience? thanks
  7. i'm not a parent, so take this advice with a grain of salt but i have helped my mom in raising my 12yrs younger brother. he's a very smart kid but also a very free spirit. we love to encourage his free spirit b/c we feel it's very important to be your own person...but not at the cost of your future. he had a few semesters when he slipped up a bit, i think mostly due to lack of organization. we sat him down and did as colin mentioned above. we expressed how important it is to keep your grades up b/c it opens doors, gives you more options. even if you decide to become a rock star or backpack across europe, at this stage in life you need those grades. otherwise, if the rock star thing doesn't work out, you'll end up flipping burgers at mcdonald's. and unless your kid is an athletic phenom, he'll need to get into college in order to progress. he won't be able to play without those grades. i think sports are a great tool for a young person to learn. sports teach us so much about life, one of which is balance. i know whenever my sports were in season, i buckled down even more than usual b/c i knew i wouldn't have the time to screw around. your kid sounds like a good kid, with a little help...he'll figure it out.
  8. yes, and i'm not a fan. i know i'm thinking with my heart and the AD's are thinking with their wallets but all this movement is just disheartening. i'm a big ten guy, mostly basketball, and we picked up nebraska?? do they even have a basketball team? only move i would've been ok with is notre dame added to big ten, that just makes sense. everything else seems ridiculous.

    Cart girls?

i must say that the "warm for cold" brew exchange is a beautiful business strategy.
  10. i vote for the champions tour, especially with the addition of couples, lehman. it's fairly watchable. and the women on the lpga have become increasingly more...um...well...let's just say i'll watch a little longer than i used to.
  11. currently use callaway but thinking of going back to titleist
  12. i'm not old but i'm almost bald....so cap it is!!
  13. i know this isn't the thread to address this but phil's shot was not one in a trillion. he would hit the green 75% of the time from that spot b/t the trees and birdie it 90% of the time. now putting the ball on the short side is an awesome shot but he took away a birdie, he would prob do that every time.
  14. as much as i would like to say AK, i have to go with Tiger. if AK can put together 4 solid rounds then he'll be a lock for a major. he had a great sunday at the masters and when he can precede that with a great round on thurs or friday then he'll be just fine. Tiger still has "it". the first tourney he plays he goes T-4 and it's at The Masters, that's just plain good. i'm glad he wasn't able to stick to his emotionless statement. tiger playing golf without emotion, be it good or bad, is like phil playing golf without a smile on his face...doesn't happen. if tiger is going to win a major this year i predict it will be at st. andrews. i'll be cheering for phil as always but if tiger finds that little piece that's missing and takes it overseas...it will be a good battle. sorry lee westwood...you're not winning a major. top 3 in the last whatever it is, 4??, is very impressive but you have to finish and for some reason there are guys who can't hold on to it.
  15. haha, this does look difficult. it would be hard enough to drive a golf cart down this hole let alone steer a ball down that fairway. good luck. your stroke avg?
