  1. haha, this is very true. luckily i can play TW 2010 on the wii, so when i'm caged indoors by the weather i can still "swing". i remember my girlfriend in college jumped down my throat when i came home from a round with my buddies. i apparently didn't tell her where i was going or how long i'd be gone, how dare i?? i guess she felt like golf was my "mistress". my buddies were all there when it happened, honestly, we had just stepped in the door. i just walked past her and remember thinking, "i wish i was still on the course". needless to say, we aren't together anymore. i'm with my "mistress"...
  2. i think TW loves golf but i think he loves competition even more. TW is like MJ, he just wants to beat you. it doesn't matter if you're tying your shoes, he wants to do it better than you. that's what i love about guys like that, they just enjoy the competition, that's what drives them. i've always been the same way, just not to their level. if i'm just playing round with my friends, i feel like i have to win, no...sorry, i mean i feel like i have to BEAT them. that's why TW will come back to the game sooner than later, he has to prove to himself that after all this crap off the course, he's still the best on it.
  3. this post has brought tears to my eyes. buddies and i took a golf trip to scottsdale 4-5 years ago. we played TPC, SunRidge Canyon, Eagle Mountain, We-Ko-Pa. i agree with most of these posts, We-Ko-Pa was very nice. and unlike some others on here, i liked the TPC, you won't be disappointed. from what i remember, the most player friendly course/personnel was at SunRidge Canyon, very nice people, guaranteed good experience.
  4. i think you automatically save 2 strokes by avoiding that "i can't really see where this is going" shot. after that familiarity with a course brings your game down to exactly that...your game. if you know the course, all you have to do is execute. and that's the easy part right? that's why we're all getting paid to play...(sad face)
  5. i started doing this last year, now i do it just out of habit. helps with routine. i just line up the stamp in the line i want to start out the putt so i can get a good idea if i'm making square contact with the putter. you know, avoiding the dreaded "S".
  6. mickelson should be on everyone's list here. not only does he have the talent but more importantly he has the personality. i love the way he goes for it, even when every fiber in his body is telling him not to do it. he plays for the excitement, not the cash. well, ok, everyone plays for the cash but you know what i mean. the game is first and the glory is second for phil. otherwise we would've seen him lay up a helluva lot more.
  7. i felt the same way about the whole situation. he seemed like a robot reciting a programmed apology. (robot voice - " i am sorry. i was wrong. i have no emotions". c'mon, his mom was sitting 5ft in front of him and he didn't tear up at all. maybe i'm not as much of a man as tiger but if i made the mistakes he has and made a public apology with my mom front and center...i would at least shed one tear of disappointment in myself.
  8. i am currently unemployed, haha. it's only been 2mos. but i'm going a little stir crazy already. can't wait for it to warm up just a little bit so i can start the season.
