What motion is used? Is it a putting stroke?

What degree is your sandwedge?

With a lower lofted club will it check and then stop or will it roll out? Or does that depend on where it's at in my stance?
-
Hey everyone this past weekend I shot a 58 on the front nine of my home course. Horrible I know. Since getting lessons the past couple of months my ball striking has gotten more solid, and now i'm having problems around the green. I use a 58* for around the green and for around the green I mean 10 yards and in. When I open up the face of the club, i usually end up chunking it. What do you guys use for around the greens in these situations? Or any tips or tricks on what I can work on to get better to lower my score around the greens?
-
I think this may have been it ^ so if it's in the situation where the ball is "propped up" on the rough grass then would it be better to use an iron in that situation or an iron?
-
Wouldn't the flatter face of an iron be better to get the ball out of rough as opposed to the round head of a hybrid? What was the reason for the golf ball going straight up in the air then, my swing? stance? or coming underneath the ball?
-
Hey everyone yesterday while golfing I attempted to use my hybrid out of rough a couple of times and the ball popped straight up and went about 15 yards in front of me......Is it best to use irons out of rough, because I hit my hybrid off of the deck in the fairway no problem, what exactly is the hybrid supposed to be used for?
-
I'm one in a few than I guess because I try and get to the range at least three times a week.....I start out exactly like you with my 8 iron, and then I do what I would do on the course, driver, hybrid, long iron, chip etc......but I am a little suprised by the yardage on your 8 iron......I could never dream of hitting my 8 iron 160+ on the range or on the course for that matter! Will more yardage come with me having more confidence in my swing and then just letting it rip?
-
Probably one of the most intelligent things i've ever read on a forum! Just practice practice practice i guess! Does muscle memory have a lot to do with getting up their and just know that you are using the correct swing path etc?
-
Thank you very much everyone for the boost of confidence, and stuff to work on during and before my shot. I will be playing friday after work and I will try some half swings during my pre shot routine, and not thing too much during the round about my swing either. But i must warn all of you that if I do have a good round while not thinking about my swing, after the round that is all I will be thinking about..like what I did good, what I did bad, and if I actually think I knew what I was doing during my swing.......and that drives me crazy

Thanks guys for all of the suggestions keep them coming, the book you speak of is in audio form on apple itunes so i'll listen to that and see how i absorb it! I am thinking about dropping the driver out of my bag all together until I can find a groove with the new swing.....
-
Thanks man all good ideas there! I am mainly concerned about getting my swing path down....not necisarily the long irons, or driver etc.....just the swing itself....I'll look for that book as well appreciate it!
-
I do the same thing, it usually takes me a couple of holes to get "in the groove" because I am just so nervous on the first couple....thanks for the input guys....anyone else with some suggestions?
-
Thanks man it sure does, how long did it take you to adjust to the new swing....I am definetly contacting the ball more consistantly when I don't rush my swing or over think everything....
-
Well to make a long story short. I have had about four lessons and have been working pretty hard on my "new" swing. I have lost a lot of yardage from not swinging as hard as I used to because I'm trying to "control" my swing. And concentrate on the swing path. My question is how long will it take to get confidence to crush the ball again.
-
I am also wondering this as well.. My golf coach, had me start concentrating on this more last time I had a lesson with him...I really haven't "practiced" it much, and he didn't have me hit any balls at all while trying to keep my arms close to my body since he didn't want me going back to my old mechanics.....is it also true that I need to keep my right elbow close to my body as well?

I've never played there and I live only about an hour and a half from there in Ridgecrest. So were you disapointed with the course or did you enjoy the overall setup of it? I have yet to play any other courses except China Lake, but I'm assuming anywhere is better than here lol.....How often do you play? -
TMZ is reporting that she was found with a plastic bag over her head.....

Hey everyone I have a friend at work that wants to buy her boyfriend some new irons for a gift....He likes the brand taylormade, and is just an amature hacker like the rest of us.....I suggested the R9's, or maybe even the burners anyone with any suggestions on either of those would be greatly appreciated.....~Chris

thank you for the replies everyone....I will look for a 17* wood, whether it's 4 or 5......and I will remove the 3i ...I hit that about the same distance as my 4h so I should be ok......anyone with some comments on what an easy to hit/consistant 17* wood would be?
