  1. I play my local par 3 once a week with my father. It's great for him since really he's not the best and it allows him to have fun and not get worn out. Not to mention it's fantastic short game and putting practice. If you have time play two balls and hit each shot differently. Simulate that there's wind or different hole placement.
  2. Just going to jump in here and reccomend Mizuno MX-300's. Their a mix between players and GI. Usually around $600+ though. If you can swing it though I think they could be a good iron for you.
  3. The shafts are the same types of shafts you can get in name brand clubs, should be no real difference there.
  4. Hey guys, Last year I bought a 4-PW of Callaway X-22 clones called Grand Hawk XP-28 ( seen here ). What I'm wondering is if it's time to move on and get new, real clubs. Today just swinging some clubs at golf galaxy they just felt and definitely looked better. To be honest I was trying out Mizuno MX-300's and AP2's, but my clubs to me sometimes feel weird and very clunky. I got them fitted -2 or 3 flat (cant remember) and 1 inch short so it's not like they're totally bad for me (spec wise). Still they are kind of an embarrassment, having people ask you if you have X-22's and you say "No, they're just clones." Even the nicest of people sometimes look at you funny. This year I've really been trying to spend more money and time on lessons and practicing rather than buying clubs, but I'm not really sure if these irons are worse than legit clubs and need to be replaced. Has anyone else had clones and moved onto name brand? While I think clones are basically made the same, I don't really believe the quality or precision is the same. So should I move onto name brand clubs or sit where I'm at and get better, then when more money rolls in buy some new clubs that are better suited to my new improved game? ...I think I might've answered my question. Still what do you guys think? Thank you!
  5. Hey guys, lately I've had a very tough time trying to find teen sized golf apparel. I'm 5'4 and 110 lbs (Defintely a small kid). I need about a 28/28 size pant/short, but kids golf sections are too small and mens start at 30 or 32. For any smaller men or kids out there, wheee do you buy your golf clothes? Also I prefer Nike quality (well design, breathability, movement) but I'm not worries about the brand just quality.
  6. Hey guys today I played my first high school tournament. I shot a 52, which didn't make me very happy, but I was calm the whole way through and always focused on the shot at hand. However my first hole I ripped a drive onto the fairway, hit the green (second shot) and parred the hole. Next hole double bogey, but I still didn't have the green speed down and I had a bad chip. As the round went on my short game, drives, and iron shots got continually worse. Some of this is due to my tempo. The first whole my whole body was relaxed and I just swung and kept to fundamentals. After that I felt like my swing was getting faster and more out of control and my chipping an utter mess (after spending the majority of my practice time this week chipping). The only real thing that saved me was my putting. Does this ever happen to anyone else? Also I plan to see a pro for lessons. I try to fix my swing, but it's very tough when I really can't tell exactly what I'm doing wrong. Especially since I don't know what I'm doing right. Any tips on how you work on your swing?
  7. Hey guys, I found a drill where I take my normal stance with my butt against a wall (my garage) and swing. This drill stops me from rolling/flipping the clubhead, because it can't go behind me. I think it's really starting to pay off and teaching me to stop flipping/rolling. I'll post another video of my swing tonight so we can see if it's really helping or not. P.S. I'm wrapping my clubhead in a towel. I'm not that crazy!
  8. Not 100% sure if this is what your looking for but http://www.gcjgf.org/ is a southern golf tour. Not even sure on how competitive it is, but no harm in taking a look and seeing if it's right for you.
  9. To Mr. Harmon : I've been working almost exclusively on #1 all night and will continue throughout the week. #1 allows me to shift my weight better, swing smoother, and it just feels right. Thank you very much for taking the time to help me out! Thank you to everyone else for giving me tips and your own insight. I'm hitting the driving range tomorrow and will have a few new videos to hopefully show off what I've learned
  10. Hey guys lately my swing has felt very off and when looking at it I know there are plenty of things that need work, but I don't know exactly what and how to work on it. I usually shoot 43-48, but lately have been shooting sometimes in the 50's and I feel like I'm incredibly inconsistent and I've been having very bad ball striking. It looks like I have a really flat and handsy swing, N unstable head, a body dip, and I'm swinging behind myself. I'm not really sure though, but it's very frustrating knowing I can swing and play better. Please if you could tell me what I'm doing wrong, but also more importantly tell me how to fix it or change it via drills or tweaking my swing. I'll post more videos with other clubs later. Thank you!

Interesting to see so many 13-20 year olds. Looks like golf certainly isn't dieing!
  12. Last time I played I shot a 48. Not really where I wanted it to be, but I just need to get my swing back in form. Hopefully this forum and some lessons can help!
  13. My best shot of the week would have to be sticking a 7 iron 5 ft from the hole on a Par 3. Sure enough I parred, just need to get my putting more consistent.
