  2. I am an ex baseball player so changing my swing has been difficult. I started playing golf 2 1/2 years ago and I am an anywhere from a 6 to 10 hanicap. I have never had a lesson and pretty much play by feel and my natural athleticism. 1st question- I have been an 8 handicap for a year now. I practice pretty hard to become better but can't seem to shave anymore shots off. It's not in my short game either because that is my stronger part. It's all in my iron game. Should I get a lesson? 2nd-where would you go to find someone who is legit to teach you a swing lesson? My swing is straight natural. I have never had anyone show me the propper mechanics. I would like someone to teach me but want them to be good and legit. Any ideas? I live in Pensacola... Thanks
  3. Sorry, I ment to say heel not toe. If you start at the spot you are shanking it then it will make yourself correct the swing to not shank it...
  4. Playing will help you learn to score... Unless you have a very consistant swing I would stay away from the range and just play. Sometimes the range can get you thinking to much and you will create even more bad habbits. The range is a great place for consistnant players to work on little things. Most amatures will just go to the range and hack! Stay on the course as much as possible...
  5. Line the ball up like you are going to hit it off the toe of your club. Your eyes will adjust to the feeling and therefore you will not shank. It might feel uncomfortable at first but it will keep you from shanking. Brant
