  1. OK. So there you are, in dreamland & teeing up in front of 20,000 rabid, slightly drunken Arizona State mentalists. Then you wake up.... But what would you ACTUALLY do to tee the ball up during the Waste Management at the 16th? Sell your soul, leave the wife, stop drinking.... Personally I would sell my house just to hopefully make the green in front of the loudest (& sometimes cruelist) crowd in all golfland. You????
  2. I like this thread because I have exactly done the same thing with the same balls & maybe I'm being daft but I have seen a definate checking with the ProV1 on the Par3's. On a very quiet day at my club I play 2 different balls at each Par3 to see how well/close I hit them. I hit the NXT Tour well but as another poster said the feel of the Prov1 is noticable even to a 12 handicapper like me. Unfortunately I cant afford to play ProV1's all the time so for every dozen of those I buy, I buy maybe 2 dozen NXT Tour's. Bet the OP is glad to know he aint the only wierd one testing balls for Par 3's!!!
  3. Seeing as wind/lie/etc are all going to play a part, that was pretty close to being accurate for me. Only the Driver was really out.
  4. APPLAUSE!!! Very nice end to the round there.
  5. Good wedges & a good 3 or 4 piece ball is the only way to get the spin you are after, plus the perfect swing etc etc. PROV1 / Nike ONE Tour / Penta best top priced NXT Tour / Callaway HZ / e6 next best Vokeys or Clevelands for the wedges...
  6. DavidFehertysBike PLEASE change your big stick to the 909 & go all Titleist, go on I know ya wanna....
  7. Easy peasy....lag putting at home/office. Will be 90 & still do that lol
  8. I have no idea if this book is available stateside, but it certainly is in the UK & it is extremely funny..."The Wit of Golf" by Barry Johnston. A bumper bag of humorous anecdotes and amusing tales from golf's best-loved personalities that proves golf is a funny old game -- birdies, bunkers and all! Read hilarious stories covering everything from caddies to the clubhouse by the game's all-time great characters, including Peter Alliss, Nick Faldo, Sandy Lyle, Sam Torrance and Ian Woosnam. Enjoy the humour of legendary players such as Seve Ballesteros, Tony Jacklin, Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino and Tiger Woods, as they share the funny side of playing in the Open Championship and the Ryder Cup. Laugh-out-loud at celebrity golfers Bruce Forsyth and Michael Parkinson's rib-tickling anecdotes about pro-am tournaments and club golf. THE WIT OF GOLF is a wonderful collection of jokes, stories and anecdotes, perfect for any golf fan.

    World Cup

Love England to win, but on previous World Cup form & the best player on the planet having a great tournament my money is on Argentina & Lionel Messi
  11. Honest to God there is no right or wrong way to choose a flat stick, but something I have found to be true sort of echoes what blackxpress was saying. Find one that makes you feel confident when standing over it, one that looks good to you & one that you somehow keep looking back to in the store. Then buy it KNOWING it was the right purchase, if it cost 200$ or 20$. I didnt know what putter I wanted ( actually secretly thought it was going to be a Scotty ) but finally couldnt walk away from the #7 White Hot XG Odyssey. Did & still feels right for me. Hope you find one!
  12. I second that call, lots more check than the standard NXT. Not that Im biased or anything. also concur with Callaway |hz|
  13. I was only trying to point out that the pro players complained that the course had been ruined / was punitively unfair etc, comments players have previously said about the US Open set ups in the past. I know the US Open is probably the hardest course set up of any track each year ( & one of the reasons why I cant wait to see Pebble this year!!) I think its the most difficult of the 4 Majors to win even past a wind induced rain lashed British open!! It just annoyed me a little that you seemingly need a US win to make waves now, but was very glad to see how much the crowd took to McIlroy.
  14. That is the best Scramble advice posted yet. Never be short with putt 1, be really aggressive & try to hole it. At least the second person can lag up close if it misses.
