  1. I have a Nickent 3dx ironwood 3 hybrid 20* and I hit it 190-200. It is the only sure thing in my bag. It is probably to much club for you since you are probably a better ball striker than me but if you look around these can be had for less than $50. So if this isn't it you wouldn't be out much
  2. I am sure that this has been beat into the ground but please help with this situation. My wife started to play this year and I bought her a top-flite box set. There are some problems her first off she has a hard time twisting her back to have a good swing she is definetly a sweeper. So the issue is that her driver, fairway wood, and hybrid she hits straight as an arrow but does not get any distance and no air with them (her driver goes about 50 yrds and it is all roll) the set has a 7, 9 and wedge. She does get some air with them and honestly can get her 7 iron about as far as her driver. Like I said she has a hard time twisting her back. So my question is I found some Cobra 3400 i/xh lady irons on ebay. It is a 4-9w+sw iron set and looks to be in good shape. Would this be a good way to go? If this was a way to go I would take her driver, fairway, and hybrid out of the bag and just carry these and a putter of course. Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys I got her convinced to try the sport and she enjoys it when it works but I am afraid she is going to get frustrated and give up. I also found some Cobra Gravity Back on 3Balls.com. Any help is great!
  3. Don't go by the chart. I am 6'2" with a wrist to floor of 37 and I hit the mat and came back black dot. All of those charts are very basic every swing is different.
  4. I just bought a set of BeCu's and I am a very high capper and after buying these and working on my swing on my own I went out this weekend and shot a 82 that's right a 82 with these. These are buy far the best and nicest looking set of clubs I have ever played with. Buy them and don't look back. I would agree that if you can find a store that would let you hit off a white board and get an idea of what length you need ( I did this and found exactly what I needed 1/2" long black dot midsize grips ). You wont can't loose on them.
  5. Ping Eye 2's if you want a name brand. I am coming back to golf from a 5+ year break and you can find these well under $200 and sometimes real close to $100. These things are to good to be true they feel great and are very forgiving. For the money you cant go wrong.
  6. 20 and up: Ping Eye 2 (can be bought at a very good price and VERY forgiving) 15: Ping G15 10: Callaway X Tour (this is just a guess because I would probably go ahead and get the Mizuno's and be ready for scratch golf) 5 and under: Any good Mizuno MP series iron And I get this link and love it I am anxious to see what everyone says that has worked through these handicaps. For me it is just what my opinion is because I am still at the 20 and over area but this seems to be a good way to work up in irons.
  7. It is a good start. Just get the fundamentals with that. You won't need any more wedges to start that is my .02.
  8. Personnel preference is the answer here. Everyone can have whatever they want in there bag. That is why there are so many brands out there. I have what I like, you have what you like, and he has what he likes.
  9. I can't answer to my personnel experience but I haven't heard anything bad about the Callaway, but a very good friend of mine hit the Nike Slingshot at a demo day and hit the good enough to order them but after he got hem he did not like them he traded them in for some Ping G-10. But everyone is different and you will get a lot of "swing them both and hit the one you like", and this is still the best advice.
  10. Of all the golf clubs that I have ever looked at those are the nicest looking. I love the Cobra CB irons!!!! If I had the game for them they would be in my bag in a heart beat.
  11. Are the the magnet bracelets?
  12. I am itching to hit the new Cobra Baffler Rail Fairway. Nobody around me has it yet but Cobra woods are pretty forgiving from my experience.
  13. I am in the market for a new fairway wood and seen today that Cobra is coming out with a Baffler Rail F. I LOVE my L5V so I was looking at a S2 fairway but..... The baffler idea seems to make a lot of sense. I like the looks of the hybrid alot. I haven't hit it but I also am not in the market for a hybrid. I know that alot of guys have been to demo days. Has anyone hit or seen one of these yet? Thanks
  14. Anybody use this? Just downloaded it on my blackberry mapped my course in all of about 10 minutes. I figured it was free so what the heck. I know there is going to be at least one well I use blah blah and it is more accurate but like I said free. I was just curious if anybody has used or heard of it?
  15. Like the guy above said never heard of the brand but for a guy that is just "trying" the game if he was my buddy I wouldn't let him spend a lot of $$$$$$ right now. If he has never played before it doesn't matter if it is a $200 complete set or a big dollar custom set he isn't going to go shoot par the first year. Whatever he gets just make sure he knows that this year is all about the basics. Hit the ball....make good contact.....get the ball up in the air.....and try to put the ball in the cup. Tell him not to get frustrated and enjoy the game. This is a game and only a game odds are he isn't going to make the open next year so just have fun!!!!
  16. Like it say's I have PW the has a 51* loft. What wedges should I get and bounce and so on. My local course has no sand and in the spring and fall is a soft course but in the middle of the summer it gets rock hard and dusty. My 9 has a 45*. So should I set my PW aside and get all new wedges or just get a 56*. Little help please.
  17. I will post pics soon. The Wilson's for some reason i always hit fat. I have never had a problem with any other set of irons. I will be posting these for sale soon. They where new this season.
  18. I use a Cobra GT Stand bag but I am partial to Cobra. A lot of people i know use Sun Mountain bags.
  19. I have always loved the look of these clubs and just pulled the trigger and bought a set of 2-9 with a Wedge. I know it might be weird to buy a set of irons that are 23 years old but.... they have the original microtaper steel shafts and are all numbers matching I called Ping and the set has not been changed since new. They are plus 1/2 inch long with black dot these are exactly the setting's I need. They have new golf pride tour velvet grips I wish they where original but. I will be gaming these. They will see 36 holes a week during the season and am extremely excited about m purchase. Just wanted to scream from the rooftop!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. I think the sell is all but done. I think it will be great for the Cobra line Puma has wanted to get a good name in golf and now has it. The only question that I have is how long will it take them to get a good R & D department up and going?
  21. Defintly an improvement from factory. Thanks for the input.
  22. That was going to be my ? about the 200's they seem like the right club but the blue sticker would have to go! How did it come off?
  23. I have a very flat swing am 6'1" with a wrist to floor of 38 and was fitted with a -2.5. I went to the range and played about 5 rounds and have completely reworked my swing and have since gotten it to a 0 or a -0.5. I feel the best when I swing a 1/2 inch longer club. I am going to buy a new set of irons and am looking into forged due to the fact that over time I can have the lie changed. My query is that I am a 26 handicap can I play forged clubs. I used to play alot but put it away for about 5 years and am coming back to golf. When I used to play I was down to about a 10 handicap so I am confident that I will get it down there again I hope. I am the kind of guy that will buy a set and play them till they die. This is why I was looking into forged so that they can change with me. I am looking at the Cobra S2 forged, Ping G-15, and Mizuno's. The only Mizuno's that I can stand to look at is the MX-300's. Thanks, and any other forged to look at?
  24. With Taylor Made they seem to release a new club every quarter. I think they have as big of a cosmetic department as they do a R & D department. I have been told by some golf shop pro's and it makes since that every other year a manufacturer actually makes a significant improvement in their tech. You can't reinvent the wheel every year even though they all try.
  25. Thanks for everybody's opinions I really appreciate the advice. And I agree with the last post. I went today and really worked on my swing and am going back tomorrow to get some more balls and am going to go ahead and hit the pad again. I feel like I am over the ball more and am anxious to see what has happened.
